about devon lift, the belt should be deeper in the hand to engage pronator if i got that right from some other video and urs is around the thumb if im seeing that correctly
Devons elbow is also down in the middle of his calf. Having his tricep against his knee rather than his elbow. May play a part in helping you not open up so much. Who knows, worth a shot right ?
Hey my man, I'm a fan of you. A question. In your fight vs Larrat in 2021, why did you not having your chin close to the table there? As long as the chin is above the table before a strike, it is not a foul. Answer me please.
Yup, probably the only guy to replicate it exactly as far as I can see from videos, at least for his first set of attempts. His last attempts when he reviews the Devon lift he doesn't kick back his hand like he did the first time - he was starting to cup his hand which is something everyone that tries super heavy lifts seems to do. Probably better to back off the weight and keep the kick-back hand and work up from there (so says this armchair critic who just watches videos).
To be honest Michael looks wayyy better physically now than how he looked before the surgery look way healthier and less bloated , I think not rushing to comeback paid off massively.
Don't let a body builder physique make you see things that aren't there. No offense to Michael at all, but big arms and big muscles don't mean shit if the muscle isn't as dense.
your pronation and lat drag are insane! seems like your "missing" power in the ermes lift is also what's holding you back a little bit on the devon pronation lift. I don't know how it will translate to the table but I think if you manage to improve on your rise and "upwards back pressure" you'll be a nightmare. keep it up!
Glad you went back at the end and made adjustments - i was gona say your tech originally was WAY harder. Your forearm was parallel to the ground and devons aint. Very excited for you man!!! Cant wait to see you shake up those rankings!
Love you brother! I got injured around the same time as you. Your dedication, resilience, and courage have been very contagious. Thanks for sharing your journey to the top with us.
I think you have done well to get back to where you are now considering how serious your injury was. Glad you didn't force it and happy to see you looking very strong again. Wishing blessings for you and your wife in the days to come.
It's funny, you're definitely my favorite arm wrestler now. Larratt got me into it and it was like Larratt is the good guy and Todd is the bad guy, for years. They were all dogging on the Monster and I never really thought about it and just went along. Turns out it was the opposite and the Monster is one of the best dudes ever, not just in armwrestling. I'm glad you're still around you're a calm presence in turbulent times. I have my own clothing company as well I like your setup, I'm definitely buying some Monster Factory clothes to help support I don't have anybody else's stuff. It'll look awesome in the gym the green, black and white is super cool.
Lookin good and strong man, I can’t wait to see you on the table again. It’s crazy how well those mouth pieces seem to help in lifts. Stay healthy brother!
Michael, your channel is really great. I love to see your pronation engaged back pressure once again. It really attacks the hand on in the unique spot, and my tiny hand almost feels, like to not even move 😄. It's really hard to mimic your precise move with solid weight. You are hell of a beast! Those weights are unreal 💪👏.
I've been trying out this lift myself just using one of my Taekwondo betls, which is all Devon seems to use. Where as what Michael is using is the weight loading pin. I think that with all the extra slack you get from the belt, you get more range of motion, and you don't have to worry about the clip attached to the loading pin rubbing up against your hand or wrist. Then again, I've only been arm wrestling for about two years, I've been to two tournemants, I barley meet the minimum requirments for competiting in the 154 weight class, and I still consider myself an amateur so there is ALOT I do not know. Using only the belt is just something I suggest because it feels more comfortable to me, and it's what Devon uses.
Monster is on the comeback!!! One thing to note, those aren't your real max since you literally went back to back on those exercises without prolonged rest. You're probably 2-5% stronger rested? Keep it up MT!!!
Lol Devon does all is heavy single lifts 3 times a day. And in between them he hits crazy volume circuit (supination, high cup, low cup, grip, press, pronation and rise 6 sets of 40 reps). And that's every day, 3 times a day; averages out at least 3 hours of training a day. So....
I'm not discounting MTs lifts. He's doing great, I just mean it's actually not common to max out and you shouldn't. You should be lifting within the confines of your training. A max effort should be saved for after you peak in your match. Or else you just wasted it on a number.
Dang MonsterMike, your recovery is coming along nicely! Excited to see you pull again! Keep it up man! Big weights! I could never imagine lifting that much lol. Huge arms.
Rebuilt arm. Rebuilt mind. Rebuilt peace. What isn't rebuilt is your inspiration to me to get back into what I miss cause that's always there. Keep gaining my man 💪
One of the things people don’t understand about the Devon lift is he’s pretty much setting the back of his arm on his knee and calf which makes the lift way more demanding on your back pressure which is why even against like georgi Devon’s arm wasn’t opening up very much over the last year in almost any of his matches
its all about the hoodie, you got to live with it till it becomes a part of you 🤣. Good job Monster, good to have you back in good shape, go get them!!
On the second try of the last lift I think it did drag and not sway based on how it looked and because it sounded like it dragged. On the first attempt of the last lift I agree that it did sway since there was no dragging sound. EDIT: Good job though, I love the sweater X)
I don't think you want to use a steel shaft but have a support base and just use a strap so it doesn't get too long. I think it will have more of a lifting effect.
I think Devon is doing the lift with the wrist more kicked back (maybe to isolate pronation more from cupping?). Looks very good anyways, waiting to see you back on the big stage soon. ✌🏻
Mike if you notice on your life your elbow sits almost on top your thigh while devons elbow is touching his hamstring. Which changes the leverage point against the leg off the elbow as a base. Try it with elbow deeper inside your legs and pull up with whole upper body hinging off your glutes instead of leaning back with elbow as a fulcrum point on leg. I think it will change outcome drastically
The misconception of the green hoodie: it’s not the hoodie itself that gives off the power, it’s the innumerable colonies and civilizations of microorganisms that live within 💪🏻💪🏻.
Nice to see you doing it like Devon actually did it. Instead of propping the elbow on your thigh like Levan did, leveraging his body weight to make the lift.
levan’s form is good enough for his size, and since devon is the one who started doing the lift its only natural that he’s the only one that can do it the way he does, but either way the pronator is the man target no matter how its done
Not an arm wrestler but would like to ask would, when using the multi spinner you place the wrap under your thumb instead of between the thin and index finger? I feel it will attack the fingers/wrist more? But you’re the pro and would know better. All the best on your return
out of all the people trying out the lift only you have done with proper form...no cup wrist straight or a bit kicked back...everything was good..ofcourse there will be some cheating when u try prs but thats good..good work michael
