Ideally Mike, you want to simulate a realistic armwrestling position. Why not do this elbow flexion exercise standing at the table, elbow in the pad, pulling a cable pulley with the tension horizontal to your hand similar to an opponent resisting you? You have tons of equipment in your gym, so it wouldn't be hard to set up. Remember. There are ONLY TWO PRINCIPLES THAT GOVERN ALL EXERCISES: 1) Progressive Overload (which you are doing); and Specificity (which can be made more specific). It's not that what you are doing isn't good; but you'll get more out of it if you refine it. 👍
Dude you do look smaller but not because of the people you are around it's you probably don't have a pump going on . Idk but usually your arms look massive man. I just think most of those guys got fat and you got lean......er. lol Your fine man
285-290 lbs??? I really feel he'll do better at 115 kg if anything. 250 lbs I feel is a perfect weight largely because of his build and armwrestling style
Damn!! you seem to be going up with no signs of slowing down, at this rate you might just smash Devon and Levans records and make a VERY big statement, keep training hard Michael!! you got this :D
At this weight shouldn’t you use some padding to protect the webbing between your thumb and index finger? 66 kilograms digging in there right on the tendon, nerves and vein; it’s not boney like your wrist.
love the quote behind you. You have inspired me to train in arm wrestling. Thanks todd! Just having trouble finding a good group of people to learn from here in North GA.
I am just curious… what is the highest weight any arm wrestler has ever done on this movement? I am just curious like what is elite level on this lift.. I am assuming levan has hit the most weight doing this.
@@MonsterMichaelTodd I don’t think it’s out of the question to beat levans number. That’s 26 more pounds to go. I think based on your last lift your 1 rep max would be somewhere around that 160-165 range. Just a guess
What is the reason of loading the weight with both hands for the isometric hold at 12:42 instead of pulling the weight with one hand from the position which he is in 12:33? Wouldn't it work out side-pressure on the way down to the isometric position?
