The script would be ten times shorter without the stage directions. It’s actually crazy how specific they are. “Anne casually takes ten paces to stage right.”
ppl said how loud they are but you gotta know its a play and you have to talk loud so everyone can hear you maybe the camera was close to the stage then some ppl... lol
I've seen several people asking for actor's names in this production: Anne was played by Alice Irvin; Margot by Madison Ballard; Mr. Frank by Joel Irvin; Mrs. Frank by Leigh Irvin (yes, all the Irvins are family); Peter by Kevin Tschetter; Mr. VanDaan by Kevin Rothlisberger; Mrs. VanDaan by Rebecca Krebbs; Miep by Brynna Scott; and Mr. Kraler by Nick Michael. The production was directed by the late Mollie Mook-Fiddler, a genius and incomparable artist who will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. Glad you liked the production!
Hi! I am writing a review of this production for my Theater Arts class and I would like to name the Sound Designer, Lighting Designer and Scenic Designer. (if you possibly remember? that would be so helpful because I can not find it online). Thank you so much and fabulous performance!!
We did this play in English class and I got to play Anne, this is an amazing play I must say and I can barely imagine what they had to go through not just in the secret Annex but in the concentration camps as well.
Doing it right now but without the acting were just reading it znd different kids get different roles each day and if we're lucky it not the classclown doing a female voice czude he makes his voice supper squeaky but it funny lol
Omg when Margot started crying, I also started to cry. The amount of fear and stress they had to deal with is just so frustrating to watch. I can’t understand why humans would treat fellow humans like this but things like this seem to happen a lot in history. 😔
I thought the actors handle this subject very well and they brought each character to life. These actors took me on an emotional rollercoaster it was so cool well done
Auditions for The Diary of Anne Frank are coming up in a couple of weeks and I am studying this show religiously. This probably sounds pretentious as all hell but I really, REALLY hope to get the part of Anne Frank. As a jewish girl it would be such an honor.
We did that in high school.. I sucked at acting so was the stage manager. .at the very end of the play when that knock comes to the door, there was never a dry eye backstage or in the audience. Its rather powerful.
So when we did read arounds we had a random name generator choose which roles we got. I think I was Meip once. I really wanted to be Mr. Van Damm but I don’t think I ever was.
@@that_1_guy_1.0 The role of Anne is much more complicated than that. You have to be able to show worry, despair, hope, and compassion all at once, mainly through your eyes. It's an extremely difficult role and you have to really be able to understand what's going on, so I personally believe it should always be played by a Jewish girl. Reading A Diary of Anne Frank was a great experience for me because I got to learn what my ancestors went through (I'm Jewish), but obviously there is no book about their experience, so many people can relate to the book, play, and movie. Best of luck to you I love Pink, but the audition probably already happened because the comment was 11 months ago ;)
So I a version of this that came fro Seattle and that is the closest I ever cried at a public event. Also some of the cast was in A Christmas Carol and Anne’s father was actually Scrooge and Mr. Van Damms actor was the ghost of Christmas to come.
My girlfriend and I are auditioning for Anne Frank at the end of this month, we're both Jewish and being able to bring her story to life would be such an honor.
hey people, I want to apply to get the rights for this production. but no website is clear. I want to know if any of you have done this show where did you get the rights to this show
My sister was in this musical at our local youth theatre “Dreamwrights”! She’s only 12 years old, and her maturity level is unbelievably the best! I didn’t want to go even know I’m old enough too, but I feared sobbing all over the floor (don’t judge) You understand this is not a happy and funny musical like all the other musicals that we know, this is about the holocaust, my parents both cried at the end because we have a serious connection as we are Jews! The prayers in the middle are what we sing at the cinema during a service, or when someone dies! The musical must be taken very seriously at all times!
Who played Peter??? This was amazing to see.. to see on youtube.. it sure made you appreciate family and friends keeping together.. so sad.. I wish there was a day actors real names. I would like to graduate each and every one of them for a job well done thank u..
Hi there i know you don't know me but i want you to give me a small favor but it means a lot for more.the reason why i am asking you is because you were one of the people who watched the play you did right?
Anne yells too much and everyone is talking normal and it's really loud because of my headphones are like 4 bars on regular apple headphones and their one on mine.
I think the play is great. I do feel like Anne is portrayed negatively on her behavior and immaturity. She’s deemed very hectic and annoying. I think Mrs. Frank played exceptionally well.
in the play frank's family is waiting for van daan's family, however in the original play script, is it supposed to be the opposite van daan's family waiting for frank's family to unite at the beginning?
I'm reading this in class znd at first I didn't want to read but I do now it really fun I took a part for someone absent czude role get changed everyday so I read Mr Dussel
Does anyone know if this uses the script by Wendy Kesselman? A local theater by me has auditions for this show in mid-April 2020 and I'm interested in trying out.
I think the producers either ran out of options for those roles or they cut them from the actual story so they didn’t have to write as much. I don’t know, that’s my theory anyway.
Mr. Kraler is the pseudonym that Anne used for Mr. Johannes Kleiman. I think in this play they couldn't fit in two more people, so Kraler is also serving for Kugler and Miep is also serving as Bep.
I wish I could've met Anne Frank because she wanted to be a writer like me and she was a Gemini like I am. She had so many hopes and dreams and even though she died at a young age she already became famous
ok I rate this show 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 stars and more I love the emotion and costumes
the acting seems very stiff to me from the father and everyone, and anne's choices aren't very clear; just loud. peter also seemed much too old. that aside, this was a really high quality production and was well-directed and designed.
