I am starting Magic The Gathering tonight by going to my local shop and gathering some beginner items. Your videos helped me decide to start playing. Thanks, Fox.
I'm glad that i'm not the only one that likes buying supplies. Just been playing magic for about 5 months now, and i love buying sleeves and dice sets!
I really really enjoyed this video. Seeing how passionate you are about sleeves and dice was pretty awesome. I love being able to see a collection like this! Did you ever get a new tackle box for your dice?
Good on you! Glad i could help you, Try and find a Local store that plays Magic on Friday, and tell them your new, they will help you learn and might even have some free starter decks for you.
Dice are not random at the numbers... its always (when they're good dice) +1 than you can roll with on the excact opposite sides. So check it. On a d6 you have 6 and 1 opposite, 2 and 5 and so on. So it's always 7. On a d20 you have 1 and 20 on the opposite sides... it only does not work on d10 or d%
Cool Video Clip and how did You learn to Shuffle the Cards You did in the Video clip? Wow those are Cool Dices You are collecting! Do You play alot of Table games?
All you need to make a competetive pokemon deck is the "Stone heart" theme deck and one of the recent eliete trainer boxes. Instant Vileplume trainer-lock deck for about £40
Normal dice are spindowns where opposing sides add up to the same number. Standard Ultra Pro sleeves are fine for me; matte fronts dull foil appearance and print backs detach easily when riffle shuffling. Fantasy Flight print sleeves are more durable but white on the inside, just like Legion sleeves which also aren't quite the same on the sides. Dragon Shield sleeves with smooth backs are said to get dirty quickly, but so far mine are great. UP deck boxes are also strong, cheap, and close well, except a printed one i have is dented.
Do you have a northern quest casino dice? I do in red because my friends dad works there so I always get card decks and some other things. Also I started a dice collection today and only have 20 lol. I love the way they look and clink in your hand when you roll them. That's why I started. Also you inspired me to buy some too and not just try to find them In my house lol.
Cool collection, although.... D20's are not random. The two opposite sides of a D20 should always have a total of 21 value just like a D6 always totals 7. That, or it's not a 'True' D20 :) Love dice too and have WAY too many of them..... On the other hand... can a man really have enough dice?
most people get them from all places. a lot of people also start collecting dice from rpg's. thats how i got into them (after buying a chessex signature gemini set that looked so amazing i could not stop)
Great video! I work with some guys who have invented a different kind of dice that will be launched on Kickstarter in a week or so. Would you be interested in reviewing a prototype?
Holy shit bro I just found your channel again in my subscriptions. I'm Jake (probably used the name Hurley) and we used to play HL2DM with BruBra if you remember? Reply whenever you can, I still have you added on steam (Brond James MVP)
Late to the game here and not sure if it was commented on or not...but... Most gaming dice for D&D, the D20 will always =21. 20 is opposite of 1. 2 is opposite of 19, so on and so forth. At least those released by Chesex do (or used to.)
if you just started and want someting to start a big collection with i would recommend wizdice or pound-o-dice. wizdice are better dice in my opinion but pound-o-dice also gets you factory seconds (at random) and for a collector that could be interesting.
Ruhal Foyls This is my opinion on wiz and chessex, chessex dice are a little unfair but they really spice up your game a little bit, wiz are fair but a little more boring.
Can anyone tell me why Crown Royal bags are so popular to hold dice in? Just something I've noticed that is just a little bit too common to chalk up to mere coincidence.
They're large, durable, and look good. And a lot of people drink whiskey, so they aren't hard to get ahold of. It's an easy solution, though not necessarily the "best" solution.
Hey Fox! I am a very avid rpg player/ gm and I've hosted from call of chuthulu to only war..(pretty much everything i find interesting) and I have to say that a good idea for you would be making a new channel for rpgs to accompany this channel which you could fill it with book reviews, actual sessions, and etc. Feel free to message me for anything. Good video man
Nylon Whale i really don't like having more then one channel, mainly cause second channels usually tend to get abandoned. this channel is more then just pokemon so if i do decide to do any of those, it would be fine on this one.
Me too. I started today and I only have 20. If you don't know you can get 2-3 dice for about 50 cents at pretty much enywhere. But don't be rude to me because you probably know that but I'm trying to help
I literally just bought my first deck, dice and booster packs today lol. for Magic. I am the noobiest noob you will ever see. But I'm excited to learn.
Using 2 dice for D100 is inaccurate, isn't it? 2 die causes a bell curve of probability... This can be useful though, to ensure most rolls will land near the middle. Not sure how the math works out since the second die is only 1/10th of the first die, I guess that lessens the severity 10 fold...
2d10 dice for d100 is fine as your not adding them together so no probabilty curve its linear because you just read them. One is units the other is the tens.
I think he added wrong at the very least. I've always counted the 0 on the d 10 as 10 and the 00 on the percentile as zero. so a 20 and a 0 should be 30. otherwise you cant get higher than 99. And nobody wants a d99.
well then its not a d100, its a d10-109. Kind of defeats the point. The d00 should be 00-90 and the d10 should be 1-10. That way you can roll any number between 1 and 100.
No the units are only read on the d10 and the tens are only read on the d00 ! No such thing as 109% a roll of 09 and 00 is 9% so a roll of 10 and 00 is 10%. A roll of "10" and 90 is just 90%. If you count the 10 on the d10 as 10 and not 0 you will roll 110% on a roll of 10 and 00 instead of 100%. The number ten is on the d00 as 10 already!
+Pixel Porpoise cards use 2-10 and then Suits (K, Q, J, A) use the numbers as Power/Toughness, Face cards as variable power toughness, and the back as multiple same tokens.
