I feel u the same way. But I think it's deeper than that. The Mayans and Cambodian ancient structures very similar and sometimes Cambodians get mistaken for Mexican or other central Americans. The Mexicans have deep native American lineages and the natives came from different parts of Asia so it's definitely rooted way way back.

Yep some Filipinos were at war with some Mexicans as well back in the day but the fact that we share some common grounds with them made things easier eventually. Other Asians didn’t know this and actually thought Filipinos were siding with Mexicans at one point but they don’t know that about 25% of our words (common objects or nouns) are actually Spanish and that alone helped with communication.
