So this guy in my fb group told me my linear rod for 3d printer is not stainless steel becuase it attracts to 🧲? And he claimed the one he god is better stainless steel has no attraction to magnet? Confused 😕
This was actually a poor video on ferrous vs non-ferrous metals. There is only one natural ferrous element / metal: Iron. Ferrous is from the Latin word ferrum, meaning iron. All ingredients that can be added to iron are non-ferrous, including carbon, chromium, nickel, etc. The resulting steel or stainless steel alloy is ferrous because it includes iron as a basis. Alloy all of the ingredients without any iron and it makes a non-ferrous alloy. Although the video is not wrong, per se, it is overly simplistic and leaves a lot unsaid.
