Every time i need an answer to a simple question like this it seems nobody bothers to make a video and then i find your videos and you have the answers right away every time

I know this video is 4 years old but I had to point out that The HMFx3 button and the LMF/3 button on the G-Channel are NOT for the HF and LF bands. They are for the Hi-Mid and Lo-Mid bands, as you can see there are thin lines linking to the mid bands.

ez answer is g - > mid e - wide (sides) wich mean g great for vocals bass kick snare coz they are in the mid of mix like pan phase and other things e great for rythm guitar , strings , pads anyway its ears..i like g more best way to use both and hear diff ..there is a lot diff..if u go e for vocals its can ruin your song and kill vocal pan and dynamics..coz its will be sound like its wided..like its pan left and right and really not enough center ..after mastering..every master engineer makes sound wider by 1 audiotrack..so e channel + mastering = superwide vocals..but u want it to be in center with a little spread ..its how its basicly sound in any good song

Both channels have their strengths n weaknesses. I use both depending on the situation.

i dont think that is true that ssl is the first console to have a compressor on every channel because abbey roads solid state tg12345 had a compressor on every channel

Wrong. The G-Channel EQ actually gets a wider Q as you boost/cut more, not narrower. This was done in order to encourage engineers to apply less overall EQ than usual. It is the API & Neve console EQs that get the narrower Q relationship.
