Regardless of what you choose for set up and structure of your videos, I think you are one of the best financial information channels on youtube. Your channel is invaluable especially for newcomers to the subject. Don't fret too much about how to "improve" your content, take your time to experiment and try different things. As you said, improve your own skills in the process. In due time you'll figure out the ideal process for you.
Your content is so precious, never stop doing it! Thank you for explaining these concepts in such a concise and easy way. Finance and economy education is really underrated. A lot more people should inform themselves of how the world around them works.
Honestly, I do prefer the pushing of the bagel intro more than the animated one. The background is better, very pleasant to the eyes compared to just white. :)
I think dropping the saturation on the orange / blue might be good. Its a little too eye catching in my opinion. (But keep up the great work plain bagel)
Love the new background! Great idea! I will say though, i agree with other comments that you seem a little too zoomed in this video. I would prefer the chest high or belt high shot. Keep up the great work! Love your channel!
I don't know who was arguing for the zoom in view. I think the panned out version had an emphasis with hand gestures. If I get one vote, it's to stick with a good thing like before.
I'm always amazed by the small number of subscribers this channel has, considering the content quality and the already great production quality. Although personally I would rather take more videos on more topics from you over aesthetic improvements, I hope these changes help you with the channel popularity. Keep up the good work, man!
The media focuses on the stock market for another reason: The majority of voters are in retirement or will soon retire. These people watch their portfolios like a hawk as it will be their income stream and tend to still watch television news. "The economy" is just a euphemism for their constituents retirement portfolio.
You videos should have subtitles because it's not only seen by Americans or European it's been channelized across global so kindly consider the advise by the way I'm farhan from india
@@jamespowell4594 I don't know much, which is why I prefer ETFs that track the indexes. The returns are high enough for me to reach my goals, and safe enough for my risk tolerance. I'm not smart enough to try to beat the market.
Just wondering, would you do a video on the impact of quantitative easing and historically low interest rates, on the stock market and shares? In particular whether shares are overvalued and the difference between rent seeking and wealth creation.
Economy and stock market are not directly related. Therefore it provide opportunities to stock investors in the stock market! Thanks for your generous sharing😃👍
Stock prices are simply a result of supply and demand. How much free money do wealthy individuals and institutions have to invest? When they look at all their opinions, where do they believe they will get the best return? If the answer is stocks because current bond rates are terrible and prices can only go down if interest rates rise, then stock prices go up. If there is uncertainty, people may instead hoard cash until their confidence improves on what will give them the best return. Unless a company is going bankrupt, I don't think fundamentals matter as much as people make them out to be, but of course it depends on the company and what kind of people trade it. Of course business performance may cause investors to react and therefore affect the price, it is ultimately supply and demand of the perceived future performance vs alternative investments that determines stock prices, not the companies themselves.
The difference between the stock market and the real economy is that the stock market mirrors the real economy when it’s convenient for the politician talking and its performance is irrelevant when it’s inconvenient for the politician talking.
I don’t mind the more zoomed in approach, but having the camera above your eye level and you looking up at it makes you look small. Maybe try keeping the camera at eye level; it makes you look more approachable, just my opinion!
At this point I’m convinced that Liquidity, fund flows, and gamma have dominated common evaluation and momentum factors. Who knows when markets and economic activity will converge again.
Probably unrelated, but I got a stupid ad about "gold being a safe haven, despite what wall street says". NOPE! Not falling for that. Besides, I'm not interested in investing.
The problem with the US stock market, is that it is almost fully driven on imagination and the ability to manipulate emotions. If i had to set up a percentage I'd guesstimate this. 25% Normal business operations/actions 55% Manipulation of emotions 20% Imagination Now whether ir not this would be a real thing and not a cynical joke is something that would have to be found by old fashion undercover and investigative journalism. But other than that this is the feeling, as an American, for which i get when i just look at what goes on in our nation as a whole now. Hopefully this cynical joke will prove to be more of a hyperbole as time passes but thats for future me to find out. Love the videos as always and keep up the great work.
The stock market and the economy are, indeed, two different things. The stock market is an indication of the happiness of rich people. You can have highs on the stock market when unemployment rates are high (so pay is low and corporate profits are high) and poverty levels are high.
Wouldn't a 2/3 ratio in the screen be better? I like you handsome face, but I feel like with having you taking up more space on the screen it would be better to occupy one side or the other (so 2/3 of the screen) not the middle. With the previous setup you where a bith farther and therefore you could still be in the middle and not be weird. But I am not a professional, its just a feeling. Anyway your videos are informative and interesting as always, I do miss the 5 minutes history lessons though.
yes, and fiscal stimulus; e.g. the ECB putting interest rates at negative. bonds and savings accounts aren't profitable anymore, only place to put your money is in assets.
I think it s good to be neutral. There is an emphasis to be put that GDP are not an accurate indicator and that stock market are a speculative market and does not reflect nothing but the trust that investors have in each companies, sector or products
I recommend a telephoto lens at a longer focal length ("zoomed in") so as to avoid the bobble head effect caused by wide angle lens distortion. Something between 45-90mm at 35mm equivalent.
I normally love your videos, and the text of this is no different, high quality thinking. But please can you cut the background sounds and music? Why would anyone who's interested in the subject need it? Simply distracting, makes it harder to take in what you're saying.
The analogy I usually hear is that the economy is more like a dog owner and the dog is the stock market. The dog will go every which way, sniffing here, chasing the squirrel there, etc while the owner lags behind holding the leash trying not to be dragged too far by the dog.
Come on man, we both know we all came to this channel for the learning and stayed for the presenters sexy midriff. You can't change up the style and deprive us of that. No homo
The plain white background reflects more on the quality of your videos, substance over style.

I mean even Trump doesn't get the difference between the economy and the stock market - he's the president of the USA! So it's no surprise to me that many people don't get it and are confused by this year's stock market behavior. Good video, as always!
You don’t have to add political bias in this video. I get what you’re doing. They’re good examples, but it seems I can’t get away from any Political content
