Thank you for an excellent video. I was initially overwhelmed by all the choices I saw at the building supply store. Your video helped me to make better choices for my patio. Carry On Sir.
We are overwhelmed. We want a paver that doesn’t change color dramatically when wet. What is the best quality in your opinion. We have seen Basalite, Calstone, and Belgard. We are in Sacramneto CA
Everything is going to change color when wet. But the best option from that perspective is porcelain. It has a much lower absorption rate than concrete so it won’t soak up that water and change the color once the water is off the surface
I have a question about using a plate compactor. I understand 1000lbs of force is needed to compact 1” of material, would I be able to lay down say 2” of base and just do more passes with the compactor to compact it or should I lay the gravel down inch by inch compacting each layer?
@@iamahardscaper I am planning on using stone done to fines so thanks for that tip! Also to what extent would I be able to work through the rain with that base?
