Today at YCS Sydney, I lost on the bubble in time with an x-1-1 record in time to double scattershot. I gammad his scattershot that was sent by sprind, but his last two cards were double bystial, he summoned both, made beatrice, shuffled back his scattershot with mudora and dumped it back with Beatrice and I lost in time. Please fix the time rules Konami

Ive been posting this for 2 months now and every yugitubers recently posted post to try to get ones attention and make a video about the list of ideas. So it would be cool if DistantCoder, Dzeeff, azneyes, MegaCapitalG and Team APS could also make a video like farfa did 😂 Step back chumps this is how you fix YU-GI-OH Side note Links should’ve been made before Pendulum then Pendulums last. Side note There is no banlist besides banning True king of all calamities. Side note the *ed ones the best ones 1. *Face down cards can’t be used as fusion material but can be used for tributes of a ritual or tribute summon or effect. (There are 3 different options here) 2. *1 Normal summon and 1 set or 2 sets or 2 normal Summons per turn (Or Or or 1 set, 1 normal summon, 1 tribute Summon) (Or or or 1 set/ normal summon per main phase) 3. *You can normal summon in face-up defense position 4. *Tokens can be used as xyz material (But aren’t attached as material) 5. *Increase the Extra and Side deck to 20 6. Draw 1 card when you end your turn (Optional)( you’re welcome infinity players) 7. *Link monsters can be used as synchro material but count as level 0 ofc 8. get rid of missing timing 9. *Get rid of properly summoning 10. *Ritual monsters that say “YOU CAN ritual summon this card” can also be Special or Normal summoned like regular monsters. Only Rituals that say “MUST BE” must be ritual summoned. Or Ritual Monsters start in the Extra Deck. (Which neither of these can actually exist implemented bc of Drytron and then bc preparation of rites) soooooo rituals need a different buff but I can’t think of anything. Ig they can be special summoned like regular monsters can would be not the normal summoning bc Of drytron. 11. Unlimited normal summons of normal monsters and of any level 1-8 (You DO NOT require tributes for lvl 5-8) 12. *Links aren’t restricted to the EMZONES To be Summoned 13. *Pendulum summoning from the face-up extra deck aren’t restricted to linked zones 14. *Once per turn on either turn each player can activate 1 trap from their hand 15. *when a monster attacks another monster thats in defense position and with higher DEF points it’s destroyed after damage calc. 16. Both players can use both the EMZones for any type of monsters. 17. any combination of cards with mutual links can be used to have control of a monster in both mid field Extra Monster Zones. Instead of just the U lock ( u-v-L locks don’t lock your opponent’s out of the extra deck tho) 18. *Monsters in the Mid field Extra monster Zones (aka the regular 2 EMZ) can be used by either player for The summons of Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, XYZ, Link and tributes for tribute Summons. Now both players benefit and take a risk by using the Extra monsters zones (Cards like “urgent tuning” can be used to synchro summon using any monsters in the Emzones(the opponent’s or your own) 19. Monsters in the Pendulum Zones can be used by (the controller) for The summons of Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, XYZ, Link and tributes for tribute Summons 20. You can Fusion summon fusion monsters without poly by Summoning material on top/in the same zone as the other material.( for monster that requires 3 material the material must be on field or in hand just like how poly works. ( if you’ve play Dark Duel stories then you’d know how this works) ( its just a choice between letting this summoning mechanic be a fusion summon or not which ofc it should be counted as Fusion summon so then monsters gain their effects and if the material is sent to the gy or is stays stacked in the same zones.) 21. *Bring back the Pendulum zones but you can only pendulum summon monsters equal to the # of zones in between where you placed your scales in the back row. So with how the board is set up now you can only pen summon 3 monsters. So if you want to summon 5 they’d need to bring back pendulum scale zones plus it’d be cool to set traps in your pendulum zones yk 22. Link monsters Arrow can be used to climb up or down the field creating EMZones on your opponent’s field or your own S/T zones (monsters that are on your side of the field under the opponent’s control can be used as summoning material for link, xyz, synchro, fusion, ritual, or tribute summons) 23. Both And/or Link arrows just let the link monster attack the zones it points to along with monsters in the same Column 24. *Monster in the main monster zones can only attack the monsters in the same column as themselves and when the zone is empty you can attack directly. 25. *Monsters In the Mid Field Extra Monster Zones have the chance to target any monsters in the main monster zones for attacks along with the other Mid Field Extra Monster Zone **(If there were trap pendulums then Trap pendulums can only attack traps and spell pendulums can only attack spells) **(Cards must be face-up to be attacked or not idk) 26. While In the EMZ or main monster zones Pendulum monsters can attack S/T cards/ cards in the S/T zones in the same column as itself. (No damage is delt) And/Or pendulums can only attack an opponent’s Cards in the S/T zones while its been summon to the opponent’s field (in your control) bc the arrow your link monster points to is an opponent’s main monsters zones. (Cards must be face-up to be attacked) 27. Pendulum monsters in the Pendulum zones can attack monsters in the mid field Extra monster zones or Cards ( monster, S/T) across from itself on the opponent’s field in the Pendulum Zones. 28. *All monsters have battle protection from monsters with lower Levels/Ranks then themselves and also have Battle vulnerability with monsters that have a higher Level/ Rank then themselves. Meaning they are instantly destroyed after damage calc when battling a monster with a higher Level/ Rank So All monsters have battle protection and instant destruction upon attacks on monsters in this order. Level 12 beats level 11 and below and Rank 1 beats level 12 and below ect ect ect Or levels and ranks are equivalent meaning a rank 4 and level 4 are equal so they beat level 3 and rank 3 and below but not each other. 29. You can start duels with any number of Pendulum’s monsters face-up on top of the extra deck for you to Pend summon but they take up space in your extra Deck 30. *Add a secondary Extra deck thats only for spells and traps thats 5-10-20 cards and you can once per turn set 1 trap or add it to your hand and 1 activation/set of a spell or add it to your hand ( only in the main phase of the turn players turn) (Pendulum monsters can be place here to) (You Activate any spell you choose from the speed spell deck or you set it depends on if you wanna extra zone to activate spells from or if you wanna make it more of a guess which card is my trap cards kinda deal) 31. Create a separate banlist for the speed spell deck ( you still can only have 3 copies of a S/T card between your main and speed spell deck.) 32. All together your once per turn resources become 1 set of a trap or add it to your hand from the speed spell deck 1 set of a spell or add it to your hand from the speed spell deck 1 normal summon 1 set of a monster 1 Tribute summon (maybe) 1 pendulum summon 1 activation of a trap from the hand Bonus rule from CalebDOtexe 33. Geminis count as normal monsters while in the hand and Main Deck CARD DESIGNS THAT ID LIKE TO SEE IN THE FUTURE THAT COULD HELP BALANCE THE GAME More reprints More possible/realistic 1. Create (more)Pendulum Ritual Monsters 2. Trap Pendulum Monsters 3. Link Pendulum Monsters 4. Create Pendulums with Different Numbered Scales on Each Side(scale) 5. Create Pendulum Flip Monsters 6. Create Pendulum Union Monsters 7. Create Pendulum Gemini Monsters 8. Create Generic Pendulum Archetypes to Support Links, Xyz, Synchros, Fusions, Rituals, Tribute, Normals, flip, union, gemini, spirits, Attributes, types etc 9. Print more column specific Effects on cards. 10. Print more Link 5s 11. Level 1 synchros 12. Link tuners Less possible/realistic 1. *Create Link monsters with DEF points that are Red cards 2. *Create S/T cards with Pendulum Scales 3. *Create S/T cards with Link Arrows 4. *Create Speed Spells And a Speed Spell Deck Zone 5. Create a new Trap Card type that Are True “Hand traps” 6. Extra deck kaijus as new summoning mechanic that are like red link monsters that use your opponent’s monsters to summon them to your field.

I think the Powercreep this year was just insane. The ideas they had were cool but it was all just way too much imo. Tearlaments super cool idea, but will forever be powerful unless all the main-deck monsters are banned (If all the names were at one Branded and such can still abuse them as an example). However, decks and archetypes, like Therion, Spright, Dinomorphia, Dogmatika Ritual Stuff, was all very very cool but the balance of the game was just ruined last year. Let's hope they fix it
@VORTEX___
@VORTEX___ Год назад
i dont think the tearlament monsters are the issue, ishizus are the issue. if you look at the utrecht format, tear wasn't that great. Tear was the best deck in the euros format because of snow, curious, eradicator. After the snow ban, the deck was worse than spright and didn't have the perfect identity, people tried scareclaw, handtrap or spright variants which were all worse than runick spright. Only after ishizus were legal, tear was the best deck again. So I am pretty sure Tear would be nice to play against as a Tier 2 deck without ishizus. We also have all the bystials now.

@@Killermudkip1 tear is still good in the ocg because of ishizus, shaddolls and because there is no really great deck in the ocg now. bystials are certainly doing more damage than good to tear. in the utrecht format and without snow, tear was fair and fun to play against. ishizus are the issue, not the tear cards.

I want to see Time Wizard Format really take off this year. As someone who got back into the game with Master Duel after a 12 year hiatus and got a ton of whiplash from seeing how the game has changed since I last played in paper, I got so excited when Konami "announced" some form of official support for legacy formats. And have since been consistently disappointed with how Konami has done almost nothing with that premise. Now, it's slowly getting better thanks to Time Wizard side events occasionally cropping up at YCS events, but I want them to go further. Full-blown Time Wizard Regional and YCS events, and maybe someday even Nationals or Worlds. I want the format to be taken with nearly as much respect as the main TCG. In addition to events, I also would love to see support in the form of set releases. Lets see the return of Dark Beginning/Revelation/Legendary Collection sets that reintroduce a ton of important cards from past formats in order to make the formats more accessible.

the biggest downsides of Master Duel are: 1. PVP IS UNPLAYABLE ON MOBILE (constant connection issues), 2. the lack of official Konami sponsored tournaments, so rankings are virtually meaningless and the players lack the motivation as a result; 3. many people were hoping that MD would mirror OCG releases and be a simulator instead of a fun random game and/or eventually unify TCG and OCG formats, which clearly hasn't happened and it doesn't look likely to happen

@luminous3558
@luminous3558 Год назад
To add to that. Konami is currently hosting community tournaments on Master Duel and its the most cope thing ever. Its organized over discord and mostly very manual which is a huge turn off for an auto sim. Tournaments should be fully in-client with automated pairings and infrastructure and not at the mercy of some discord bot or the effort of TOs having to put in all their effort to keep the tournament from not taking 8hrs. On the topic of ranked. We need a leaderboard in D1. Something to go for so the ones who care can distinguish themselves because as it stands being D1 just means you have a decent deck and can read. Other games like Shadowverse hand out prismatic copies of recently released staples to their top100 players and normal copies to top 1k, thats a really nice incentive to try to go further than just D1 and even if you dont have the time to grind it at least raises match quality.

I got back into yugioh earlier this year, after about 10 years out of the game. I had to basically learn the game again. I started with three branded structure decks, moved to predaplant branded, and right now I'm on tear (only because I got planets for SUPER CHEAP). I think powercreap, even within this year has been crazy. Adventure who? Therion what? I really think the main shame of modern yugioh compared to when I left, is that the battle phase doesnt matter outside of putting up 8000 damage. every deck outside of eldlich set 5 pass Is a pretty combo heavy deck. you need to be now. like even labyrinth has a turn 1 combo it wants to do all the time. link monsters are so dumb to me. it feels like the most free broken thing ever. extremely generic, cant be flipped, and powerful effects both defensively and offensively. wild how these things exist. I'd like to see the game slow down, but idk how that do that without banning 3000 cards.

I think the development of hand trap effects as more than just interruptions is fundamentally shifting the philosophy of what Yugioh is and how it’s played. The risk/reward balance between the hand and the field is core to Yugioh. Playing cards to the field makes them active and advances the game state, however they become vulnerable to interaction. Keeping cards in hand is inactive and leave you potentially vulnerable, but it guarantees their safety for later use. Up till now most hand traps were balanced by being exclusively reactive, having niche activation requirements, and having little to no use in other places (field and gy). Bystials, Ishizu fairies, and Havnis break this mold and act as much more than hand traps. Hand traps now can double as extenders, combo starters, beaters, searchers, or just all of the above. By having an unknown card in your opponent’s hand be able to do so much it puts even more emphasis on the opening 5 cards being game determining. I think this is a sign of what Konami wants the game to be. They want to phase out the 10min combo VS unfair board breaker style of Yugioh we’ve been playing for 7 years. Instead they want a Yugioh where both players are effectively playing at the same time, with the Draw Phase, Normal Summon, and Battle Phase being the only differentiating factor between turns. It’s a more exciting, anime battle style game that has a lot of appeal. The problem is that when you put more emphasis on both players having these handtrap starter type cards you put even more emphasis on the opening 5 being crucial going 1st or 2nd, which inadvertently takes away control of player experience. The more impactful an RNG mechanic is to the outcome of a age, the less impact player skill and choice has.

As a semi-competitive player, I totally agree on your take where you like the format with only a few "best deck" as you can prepare for it. Then it is more up to skills than luck to advance to the top. The thing I don't like is that the card price is so high for tier 0 format and if you don't prepare to buy all the relevant card beforehand, you end up spending like 1.5-2 times more than you should. For an average income player, it feels like watching a stock market price when buying card and that shouldn't be the problem for the players. The reselling value is dog water as well once the deck "rotated" out of the format and how reprints works here. I'm currently working abroad in EU but was originally playing OCG. Sure, tier 0 deck is also more expensive their but if you get everything in its lowest rarity it is still manageable and the price still not fluctuate as much as the TCG most of the time. I remembered I could just walk into the store and said "I want to play an Orcust deck" and I could get 90% of the deck in one day for a respectable price.

A lot of players straddle the line between competitive and casual. These intermediate types, in my view, make up a majority of the player base. When it was played with spright, it was a little bit grindy and still a build a board type of deck(which is what spright is) when it got played with ishizu cards it became a very interactive deck, because by concept the ishizu force both players to play the game by milling their cards. The ishizu cards are what made the deck bearable. Without the ishizu carss tear is like the worst designed archetype since zoo interms of uniqueness.

It seems like your conclusion of a more diverse format being bad was more or less linked to the lack of competitive success you had during that period. While I understand that from the perspective of wanting to consistently achieve competitive success, I think more people than not would argue that a more diverse format is more fun because it enables more competitive options. To me, some of the least enjoyable formats in Yugioh were when you were forced to play a certain deck or not be competitive at all.

As someone that plays competitively as well I heavily disagree on your take of pre power of the elements format, I think it's that diversity and that consistent power level between the decks that allowed players to innovate and outplay their opponents through both smart and innovative deckbuilding and superior matchup and deck knowledge. As for the handtrap argument, I do believe it is incorrect as well since adventurer decks died to any 2 handtraps, making it not as difficult to build against them, eldlich was mostly a scythe deck that used a relatively small eldlich engine as a grind game plan.

I think because of Sydney Konami will do a TEAR consistency hit, but I think Konami will let Spright and Tear carry the top spots until tin reprint season. They can't really ban Kitkallos because it enables Rukallos boss monster. I can't see them hitting Runick given it didn't have a long top spot. and it hasn't even been out that long. I LOVE the playstyle of advantage spell based decks. I can see them hitting Flunder finally because of representation. BUT I HATE THE ISHIZU cards that Shuffle those need to be banned, they are worse than the Ishizu cards that mill. I hope in 2023 Konami make more hand-traps similar to Impermanence that don't play into TALENTS that punish you for playing Hand-traps. Could also potentially allow them to bring back cards like Called By that help fight Tear. It is weird that BYSTIALS have warped the game by making many rogue competitors like STRIKER, DRYTRON ect almost completely obsolete because how how powerful they are with the advantage they give you. I think because of Bystials Striker cards among other cards can come off the banlist because BYSTIALS have powercrept the whole archetypes. Also I am glad Master Duel is a different style of play - like retro formats is a way for TCG players to experience a more OCG style of play with MAXX C and different banlist ect. No point in Master Duel being a fancy Duelling Book copycat since you can already use DB for TCG testing.

I think the fact Konami fumbled the bag with Master Duel in typical Konami fashion alongside the insane power creep will end up turning off so many new players that we initially got with COVID. People finding out that there's: dogshit prizing, lack of esports, lack of prizing for Master Duel, and the relatively insane cost to play competitively vs what you get people are going to go out and say "damn, this sucks" and either just stay in Master Duel or drop altogether. I am a little hopeful for the TCG in the sense that if we keep getting good to amazing reprint sets at the very least even if the Power Creep keeps going up at least the costs of staples/most decks will stay relatively affordable.

The only frustrating thing about going into 2023 is how a ban list will actually change the game. If the only things hit are Kashtira, tearlaments, and spright, then you see the old format before POTE with a couple extra decks. Idk. Maybe if you hit all of the decks that were at the top of the game this year just a little, and then massacre tear and Kashtira on the ban list then we can have a diverse enough format to make people happy. But as it stands, if we follow the OCG then almost no one will be happy. If your locals has enough players that want to play the best deck then you won’t want to go anymore until a ban list cleans up the game.

I strongly disagree with your views on format variety. I don't tournament grind that much because i've never been into the absurd money expenditure for no gain that is trying to do that in yugioh, but i do play MTG as well (where sideboard answers are not as crippling and powerful as in yugioh), and i think your opinion might be derived from the fact people are used to having broken answers to stuff that just immediately wins them the game in the side deck. I think deck building and preparation is possible whether there are two decks or 20 decks, simply because the card pool is so large. A wide range of decks that do different stuff means that bullshit like floodgates is less effective too.

In nationals format I was playing vw, which wasn't good, but it had some tricks and I already owned it so taking maybe a roughly even record at locals was fine, but then I got crept out by apright/tear and I just can't justify the cost of buying a whole new deck for a few hundred dollars with yet another major deck coming up in kashtira, especially with how little I've enjoyed playing against kashtira online.

Man being that competitive has it's ups and downs.. but overall I think it sucks to always be worrying like that.. .or better yet oh I have to be worried over the next few months.. um if you playing the best deck of the format .. and you are in a mirror match.. then.. yeah you would see it that way in terms of power level. But honestly one deck.. should not be dominating that much to the point you have to play it.. just to play the game.. instead of letting.. many decks get their chances to play out. Sadly this is nothing new.. power creep was always a thing.. even back a decade ago or 15 years ago. Been playing this game for 20 years.. I'm semi competitive at best.. and my heart I'm more of a casual. However I rather build the things I like and make them work into countering instead of just playing the best deck of the format. You want the meta to change? Play different formats and change the banlist to deal with all the overpowerness if they can.
