MLB needs to start punishing pitchers the same way they punish the batters. A pitcher throws at someone's head, season long suspension no questions asked. A pitcher throws at a batter more than once in a single at-bat, 10 games. And I don't mean 10 games for the team, I mean the pitcher is out for 10 games they would have played in. Starters would be out for half the season.

First a caveat, I am not a fan of Manny Machado never have been and actually grew up a Red Sox fan. I’m not going to go as far as to say Machado isn’t dirty, but I see alot of hypocrisy when people talk about him. First, his haters will both say that he’s lazy and can run, and will also say that he collided into players on purpose beyond a reasonable doubt. If you think he doesn’t know how to run, then why can’t you believe it’s possible that some of these are accidents. Second, as a Pedroia fan, I’m am not at all convinced that he spiked Pedroia on purpose Machado slid directly into the bag and as someone who we all agree isn’t a good base runner, it’s completely reasonable that while sprinting full speed to beat out that play that he may have overshot the bag a little bit. The hypocrisy comes in when fans defend and advocate for pitchers such as Sale and Papelbon to intentionally throw at Machado with the intent of causing serious, possibly, career ending injury. That is unarguably “Dirty” baseball. Lastly, the bat drop “at the catchers feet” is ridiculous and just begging the question. The bat by no means what so ever obstructed the catcher. Give me a break. You guys are just trying to find reasons to hate him.

Machado may have been a hot head when he was younger, but he has definitely matured. He's the leader of the Padres on the field and in the clubhouse, and often seems to be the one with a level head. He plays the game the right way, hard and with intensity, as any player should. To say that he is the dirtiest player in the game right now (which you repeat at the end) I think is inaccurate and a disservice. He might have been at one time, but he isn't today. I don't like Manny Machado. I think he's a dick, but I don't think he's a dirty player anymore. This past season when he played against my Dodgers I was enraged when he would steal hits from third or in the shift, but I can't dismiss that he's got skill and I respect that. I do not believe Machado that the slide that ended Pedroia's career was not intentional. You can see him intentionally kicking up and then down in order to hurt Pedroia while he is sliding. As a Red Sox fan my favorite thing about the 2018 World Series was the Manny Machado was the last out.

Let me start by saying I’m a padres fan. I was weary when padres signed him to that huge deal with all the extra baggage he had. He was a dirty player IMO. Since he’s come to sd, I can definitely say he’s a changed man. He’s matured and realized what he’s done in the past was him being immature and young. What he did in the past was disgusting and he knows that. He has done a 360 in SD and is trying to be a role model to tatis (also a very young superstar with a lot of pressure). What did machado do recently to warrant this type of video though? He’s been in San Diego for 3 years already! Oh yeah your a red soxs fan 😂 checks out why you would still make a video like this.

That slide on pedroia was definitely unintentional, the worst thing I think is the foot step on first base, pretty trashy. The slide towards the end of the video......well.... with the amount of reaction time to seeing where the ball went, you could either run straight into the guy or clip his shoulder with a tackle, or you take a heater to the face from point blank, OR you slide and hope you go slow enough not to hurt them. I think he made the right call there

What a load of crap. Mannys slide into pedroia was to take Pedroia out of the double play, not to hurt him. If you watch it,. as soon as Machado realized he may have hurt pedroia, he went to his aide. Compare that to Bell blatantly knocking down the 2nd basemen tagging him with a forearm. Then, just around 3 min in, that pitcher throws inside and the guy says, "a pitch that tailed in", it didnt tail in, because after two that tailed in, Ventura hits him. But what is really funny is the guys says, "and then they fought", there was no fight, Manny decked Ventura with a shot to the head. LOL. Ventura went down like a lead ballon.

One of the better second baseman I ever saw on the diamond mentioned that he just waited to turn a double play against ass hats. The next time the situation presented itself he wanted the first baseman to set the target low and to the right of first base. And he'd line up on that spot and throw a 95 mph strike - or, set thar throw into the upper torso of the guy trying to take him out at second. All it took was one toss to the chops and retribution was sweet...
