If Isaac was supposed to be a scapegoat, I really feel bad for the dude. Imagine that you're a shy and socially awkward person who may not be the best at introductions and making friends, and then one day you get invited to do something fun by some people that you think just genuinely like you. Then when you get there, it turns out they just want to pin a heinous crime on you.

As a parent who has taken her kids camping for most of their lives, trust me, within five minutes of being at any campsite, kids DNA is everywhere. Juice boxes, water bottles, etc. Wondering if cops checked thru the trash for any trace of the boys DNA. That evidence alone would tell you if he had even been on that camping trip.

As others have said - great point. Unfortunately the idea that little DeOrr might have never been at the campsite didn't come up until well after the family left, so the opportunity to do that type of DNA search was lost. I remember the initial assumptions were that he wandered off, he was abducted or animal attack - so unfortunately they were focussed outward rather than checking for a lack of clues on-site. It's part of the reason the PI Klein makes such a big deal of finding the 'missing' toys & jacket in their trash, because they had been searching for items they were specifically told were missing from the campsite with DeOrr Jnr.

@Sjwaria Law If it was the parents I think it was most likely an accident at home and the chikd was never there,which would imply that Isaac is lying about Dior Jr being there. Which I guess is unlikely but maybe he is scared. He doesn't seem to have the highest IQ and maybe the family convinced him that since he already knew what happened he would but I'm just as much trouble as them, and he believes it. It seems odd to me that he said "no comment" to every question but then was like "all I can say is that he was definitely there" idk what I believe the whole thing is just so strange
@chasenielsen6137
@chasenielsen6137 3 года назад
@Sjwaria Law but see idk the only way he would have witnessed it is if it happened at the apt right before they left for the trip OR they knew he wasn't all there and could manipulate him...so they invite him over, tell him what happened and then basically say "welp now that you know what happened you will be in just as much trouble as us so now you have to help us cover it up" and he got so scared he believed them... You'd think if that was true that he eventually would give them up cause I would imagine the detectives tried a super friendly and helpful approach to getting info "like look we know they are using you, tell us the truth and you won't be in trouble" but idk maybe he just has it in his mind that he is in too deep to tell the truth.
@chasenielsen6137
@chasenielsen6137 3 года назад
@Sjwaria Law but more likely would be that the accident happened right before they left and since he was there he felt like he had to go with the plan. He did state he saw him there but wasn’t comfortable giving specifics (justifiable and wise imho, especially if he had nothing to do with it not sure if a lawyer advised him or what). My guess is that he isn’t comfortable giving specifics because doing so could potentially implicate him after wising up he was supposed to be the fall guy and wants no part in whatever plot the parents had assuming their potential involvement. One would assume he would want to expose whatever he witnessed in order to help investigators but if he’s telling the truth I doubt he was told or shown enough to be able to help without getting himself in trouble by proxy. The child he thought he saw could have already been deceased (totally speculative on my part I’ll admit) but honestly do you think anyone would leave him be if he publicly said anything implying that? Especially if he was specifically brought to be the fall guy. That’s why my money is he probably confided what he actually saw to an attorney who wisely advised him to zip it on that info until a body is recovered. Without one could open himself up to lawsuits by the parents or even more fingers pointed his way unfairly. It’s one of those frustrating situations that are there for that exact reason. If he wasn’t advised by an attorney then he’s way smarter than anyone is giving him credit for, or we’re not getting the full picture of what really happened for some tragic reason. Regardless of all the other evidence, how she sounds on the phone is irrelevant. Some people call 911 in an absolute panic, and some people attempt to stay as calm as possible so they can relay information properly to the 911 dispatcher. I've never lost a child, but I have phoned 911 during emergency situations and even though my heart is pounding and my mind is racing, I know for a fact that I cannot help if the dispatcher can't understand me, so I control my breathing and I answer questions as short/quickly as possible, and when the call is over, I collapse under the stress. I know in this case there's a lot of other evidence against the parents, but I just wanted to mention that judging someone on their demeanor during the 911 call is not a valid means of determining guilt/innocence. In some cases, yes, it seems very clear. But as a whole, the individual psychology of a person is very hard to determine, which is why therapists and detectives have jobs. Lol

The attorney sounds like a real smartass that's saying anything negative about the private investigator (Kline) in order to try to discredit the information that he has uncovered about the parents. You have to remember that the parents are the ones who initially hired Kline. So, if Kline found evidence that the parents were lying or covering up something in regards to Deorr missing, you know that he's most likely telling the truth. I mean, why bite the hand that's feeding you?? When the parents fired Kline, another family member hired him back. Also, the lawsuit filed against Kline by the parents ended up being completely dismissed, so I'm wondering if the parents got worried about his ability to provide proof of what he had been saying and presenting it in court to defend himself against their lawsuit and ending up making them look even more guilty?

If you think that you don't know much about psychology. Brains do not work like computers. Our memories are fluid, they are constantly being rewritten by our brain, tinted by emotions, re-sorted into new context, linked up with other experiences. And the more often someone is asked to recount an event, the more its details will be rewritten into a narrative of a memory, not the opposite. The only experiences that get "etched into the brain" are traumatic experiences that return in flashbacks. And no, wondering where your child is, running around searching, slowly realizing your child has disappeared, is merely horrible... traumatic would be seeing your child step on a grenade and turn into a rain of blood and flying limbs.
@ianmacfarlane1241
@ianmacfarlane1241 5 лет назад
@@TF2CrunchyFrog You seem somewhat confused by what "traumatic" means. An event does not have to be anywhere near as spectacular as the example you've given to be considered traumatic. In fact the disappearance of a child fits the definition of "traumatic" perfectly. Even a cursory Google check on the definition of traumatic would show this, and gives an example of a traumatic event which could never be considered as horrific as the one you've outlined. Traumatic - deeply disturbing or distressing. "she was going through a traumatic divorce". Also, while I will concede that the human memory is fluid and malleable, there's no satisfactory explanation for the parents recollections repeatedly changing again and again - up to half a dozen times. In fact that's precisely what homicide detectives are looking for - discrepancies. And while I agree that it's unlikely that events are 'burned' perfectly into the respective memories of the parents, they should be relatively consistent. Remember they were camping - a leisurely day, not running around from appointment to appointment. I'm not accusing the parents - innocent until proven guilty, but their inability to accurately recollect events is worrying.

If their is one thing I know that is suspicious when it comes to missing child cases like these, its whenever you hear the parent/parents talking about their child in a very abstract and impersonal manner, that's an immediate signal that something is up. I've seen the Missing 411 interview with these parents, a movie that would foolishly make you think this case is something "paranormal" mind you, but I'm not buying it. In that interview you listen to the way the father gives up after only 3 Days of searching, saying he "either wants the boy back or some closure to his whereabouts". "Closure", that's the safest word to someone who is already tired of looking for someone when he would otherwise be highly motivated to find. And notice how he calls his son "the kid". Very often he uses impersonal terminology in explaining what they're feeling. And I dont get a shred of real concern with either parent. Not one bit. I dont know about anyone else around here, but i know for a FACT that if MY father had lost me in the mountains when I was younger, hell even right now, he would be up in that brush running through hell itself for months on end until he brought me back, not even just a piece of me. When it comes to your son, you dont just abandon the search for him so easily. Not ever. Its tragic, but their are monsters out there who we call "parents", and yet are people who dont have that natural, parental drive when it concerns their kids. It is a harsh truth how many there are, who dont deserve kids at all, yet have them.

I think that this is right but I always scrutinize under what circumstances that person is being interrogated. You might be telling the truth. And they'll ask you again, and again, and again. And you'll keep saying the truth for about 6 hours. But around 8 hours, they may ask something in a certain way or pose speculation, and you're not nessecarilly agreeing with them but you consider their suggestion because you want to get this cop out of your face. Eventually that interrogator has "broken you down" not like crying in the fetal position but allowed enough doubt that his suggestions are not out of the realm of possibilities. Then when they have their foot in the door, all bets are off. That's why if i'm ever interrogated I will keep to the simplest facts. "Was it a burning popcorn smell or a electrical fire smell?" "Did his sweater have 3 stripes or 5 stripes?" People are afraid to say "I don't know" but it's perfectly reasonable to forget mundane things. I don't remember what I had for dinner two nights ago.

People forget that Isaac had no transportation because he rode with the grandpa so he wouldn't even get far enough to get rid of the boy completely. Dad was probably drunk or high, and ran over his kid by accident. Didn't want to go to prison.

Ehh....the mom seems way more sketchy than the dad, imo. Maybe she ran him over, or she wanted him gone? Her 911 call was odd, even if someone accidentally killed him, you'd think she'd be hysterical. I know people react differently, but lying about what he was wearing and how nonchalantly she sounded....I think she's extremely suspicious.

@@isitoveryet9525 under stress people may misremember details. Eye witness is super unreliable. Also, at that point he was only gone an hour, she probably didn't think he was murdered. I mean if that's legit what happened of course

Yea, from the jump they were calling it the "next Casey Anthony case". They were guilty until proven innocent with absolutely no evidence. Cool.

I just learned that if you listen to the ads all the way through it really helps the RU-vidr a lot. So now I will watch the whole thing!

I had my kids out on the playground in our complex and suddenly I couldn’t see my son anymore. I freaked immediately. I found him pouting on the back porch, totally safe, but for those few minutes that I couldn’t see him I was panicking more than both these parents.

I feel bad for the friend. It looks like the family are trying to railroad him. I'm not saying the parents are to blame necessarily, but they and the great-grandfather sure aren't hesitant to point fingers at him.

Well, on the bright side, if the intention was to pin this on Isaac, it seems to have backfired quite a bit.

The way she was so calm is a huge red flag. And waiting an hour to call? I would have called after a couple of minutes, even if I thought he would be found before the cops got there.
