Excellent. I watch old movies like this because they’re not full special effects automated BS. Glenn Ford was a excellent actor. I found myself wanting this to continue in hopes for once the Government would have to own up to what was going on. But if the movie went in that direction it would just be like todays BS movies.

In 1974 this was real. In 2023 its beyond real.

Good story line. Good old movies. I love them all.

Pretty good and i purposely didn’t look at the comments to skewer my viewing of it for a movie that is almost fifty years old with no cgi or anything just some blips literally on a screen it was pretty intense.

It's certainly some food for thought! But - I am somewhat perterbed by it. It does raise certain factors. And if that had been 24 years ago. I would have been very concerned about that then. After having seen Independence Day in 1996. I heard an Audio Movie called ID4/UK ! After both of these. I decided to keep an open mind on the subject of UFO's - I had - and at the time I hadn't known of the precariousness of maintenance of that open mind on this subject. I had joined an Armed Services Sci Fi Club a year earlier in 1995.. Owing to this open mind on this matter - five years later. The club was encouraged to contract. And yes I was one of these who had no choice but to stand down. I was not happy at the time. And left a poor mistrust with the Armed Services of Britain in me. That persisted up until the month of November in 2000. My unhappiness with that began in January of the same year. I should add, that when the Festival of Rememberance happened on the 11th November. That I changed my mind and reluctantly accepted what had happened. And of course 10 months later in 2001 - 9/11 happened. I was singularly relieved that Al'Que'da DID not prosper from my continued unhappiness with that situation - It took over 22 more years before I could leave it behind. But finally I did.. those 10 months in 2000 were perhaps the darkest ones of my life. It did modify one thing! I became cautiously sceptical about UFO's - by that consequence.. I decided that evidence of life existing elsewhere in the Universe needed to be proven. And that it would take many years, even centuries to prove that point. I didn't rule out any possibility of life existing on other planets but waited for evidence, that - at least - narrowed it down as closing some of the gap. There's been a lot of discoveries that has done so. But one thing that has been learned is that gap is yet to be closed completely. And given current circumstances, humanity might not be ready for it! We're getting there but we're not there yet! Peculiarly.. Star Trek's Prime Directive is a good guide in this instance and circumstances.. Not until a race is ready should contact go ahead ! That should apply to us in this current instance and time.. We've come a distance, but still a very great distance to go! And indeed, the conclusion of " Not ready!" Is the only one conclusion that can be made.

This was when television was entertaining. No woke a holes.

The "remaster" needs work. The white dot in the first part of the movie could have been easily corrected in post. The flash frames at the end of many shots - which appear to be the original uncorrected film - should have been, again, addressed in post. Frustrating watching this....

I laugh when people who use the word "woke" when they don't even know the meaning of the original political meaning of the word. As someone else pointed out, the late 60s and on into the 90s, TV shows really changed from the bland all white middle class family shows, where the biggest problem was who was taking who on a date, which was unrealistic, to shows like those put out by Norman Lear. His shows blew the lid off of the consergative views of society. Some are trying to take the nation back to those days, by ridiculing those they don't like, banning books, and yes, even using threats of violence. Fortunately, there are people who aren't going to put up with that.

There's no way to hang on to impetus dogmatic beliefs while looking up at a very obvious reality of life beyond our myopic perspective. ...
