PFC Kelli Bordeaux was based in Fort Bragg, Fayetteville. However, when she failed to return from the local bar one night, a massive search began. Suspects were discovered, but the search proved fruitless. Until a private detective decided to do some things the police couldn't.

Sexually assaulting a five year old? Five years in prison. One ounce of cocaine or more? Ten to twenty years in prison. Do we see the problem with this?

I can promise you all, There is not one single sex offender that has had or will have an easy time behind the walls. Rest assured the "guards" reliably accidently release the name and charges of them. Day 1
@skiddlybop4381
@skiddlybop4381 3 года назад
@@standardaussie Hello, I'm a former jailor (not prison guard, just jail). I can 100% confirm this and assure anyone with doubts that it is very easy to pass information along of a new inmate being a pedo. The inmates would see me walk in to general population with the new guy and experienced inmates will start doing signals with their hands and faces to each other and to inmates in other pods that they can see through glass panels. I don't know all the signals but they showed me what "pedo" is and to just nod my head "yes" or shake my head "no" whenever they signal "pedo?". The other inmates do the rest. Within a week EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. the pedos would be absolutely covered in bruises, busted lips, black eyes, all the works. "Investigations" almost always went nowhere as no inmates ever "saw" what happened and there's no cameras in individual cells where crowds of inmates would pile in to conceal a fight or gambling. Then the pedos always end up on "suicide watch" to isolate themselves from the other inmates. This is where the jailors can mentally torture these scumbags by never shutting the lights off (procedure for suicide watch regardless but we don't dim them at all). We gave them the worst food and fed them last out of the 150+ inmates in my jail. Only 2 trustees serve the entire jail and only one is a male to serve all the men so it's a looooong time to wait for your food if you're really hungry, and suicide watch inmates aren't allowed to have snacks or anything else except a mattress, a rubber cup, and a "self-harmproof" thick green vest dubbed "the pickle suit". Apologies for the novel, I just got a lil excited like a nerd in a Star Wars convention... Obviously, I don't get to talk about my jailor days much.😅

@@skiddlybop4381 this is insightful, what part of the country was this? As far as you know how widespread are these hand signals?
@skiddlybop4381
@skiddlybop4381 3 года назад
@@lsixty30 Tennessee, just outside Nashville. I've been told pretty much every prison/jail will find unique ways for inmates to communicate with one another. It just happened to be hand signals in that jail because all the "pods" (general population units that house anywhere from 20-40 inmates) all circled around one central tower so jailors could see all the general population inmates from one place but that also means all the inmates can see each other thru the thick polycarbonate panels that seperated these pods, the only exception being a corridor that seperates the male and female pods for obvious reasons. That corridor didn't help much tho, because we also discovered a system where trustees were acting as mailmen from male inmates to female inmates. They'd stuff notes into the detachable top and bottom parts of brooms and mops then drop them in designated spots for later pickup or simply straight-up slide it underneath the door to the womans pod when they thought no one was watching.

I'm from Canada but my dad in the 80's worked in Buffalo, New York. He was at a party once that got broken up by the police, they found a joint on him and arrested him on the spot. While he was interrogation he was threatened with almost 10 years in prison for possession and distribution if he didn't give up who his dealer was. My dad had no clue who the dealer was because he just bought the joint from his friend and as quoted from my dad " unless it was life or death then I'm not going to be a little bitch". He lawyered up and was able to get the charges against him dropped because apparently he was never read his Miranda rights, was denied a right to make a call, many other of his rights were violated, and also couldn't prove that my dad had any intent to sell the joint. My dad wanted to stay in the states after the court case with thrown out but the lawyer told him to go back to Canada because the police as the lawyer said: " they don't like to lose". My dad was threatened was 10 years for a single joint but this guy sexually assaults 5 years old and he gets 5 years. The American Justice system is so fucked up and broken. Kelli Bordeaux would still be alive and serving her country proudly if that slimy useless piece of shit wasn't allowed out of prison.
@andrewhall7930
@andrewhall7930 3 года назад
I fully agree with you. It is important to remember he committed the crime when he was 16. I'm not justifying his being 16, but but if he had been 18 He would have gotten more time. The Canadian Justice System is messed up as well. Ever hear about the Greyhound passenger (Will Baker) who literally Killed and Cannibalized the passenger sitting next to him (Tim McClean) (in full view of the passengers who gotten off the bus but were watching from outside) That man is now free on bail, He didn't even serve 8 years. He was found Not Guilty. If you killed a stranger in America and started eating them, you won't be out on bail anytime soon.
@2004dale
@2004dale 2 года назад
I totally hear ya but I think it’s important to understand it’s not just America’s justice system that’s flawed. All of these judicial systems are designed by people and people are extremely flawed. So will be the systems we put into place. I’m not sure exactly how sentencing works in my country (America) and I’d like to see aspects of it such as sentencing drastically improved. I’d more so like to see our justice system be more effectively designed to actually rehabilitate people. Our judicial doesn’t make people less criminal. You go through it and you’re more likely to stay criminal. Now it’s all a cycle. That’s the tragedy along with the odd sentencing. I’ve heard cases in other countries including your own (Canada) where the sentencing didn’t match the crime. So let’s be fair. Our system is fucked; it ain’t the only one.
@Nostalgic_1
@Nostalgic_1 2 года назад
@@2004dale I've always thought that sentencing should be the same for everyone who commits the same crime. Rape? Everyone gets 50 years. 1st Degree Murder? Everyone gets the death penalty. 2nd Degree Murder? Everyone gets life without parole. 1st DUI? Everyone gets 2 years. You get my drift? I think if people knew that, if they were found guilty of a certain offence, they were going to definitely going to get a specific punishment, it might deter criminal activity to start with. As it stands, criminals roll the dice because they might actually get a slap on the wrist when it comes to their sentencing if they are found guilty. Sometimes people even get off with time served while they are awaiting trial even for serious crimes!
@medea27
@medea27 2 года назад
@@Nostalgic_1 Except that justice isn't that cut & dry. There's three big issues with that idea.... Firstly, it doesn't take the individual circumstances into account, which is not fair when you're talking about crimes where it's accidental or unintentional. eg. if one defendant shoots & kills a guy who didn't realise he was trespassing on the defendant's property.... and another defendant accidentally runs over & kills a guy who ran in front of their car... both get convicted of _involuntary manslaughter..._ should both be punished the same?? Secondly, the _severity_ of a sentence _is not_ a deterrent to committing the crime, especially with extreme crimes like murder... if it was, you wouldn't see the states with the harshest penalties (like the death penalty) having the highest crime rates or prison populations. Look at Florida or Texas as key examples. And third, in a place like the USA where you can't even get all the states to agree to a single legal age of consent, it's impossible to impose a standardised sentence because the definitions of each charge/felony differ from state to state. Good luck getting all 50 states to agree to _anything!_

We have a game like that in Gotham city. Batman usually stops it but on the good days we border off 12 blocks of Gotham and have a about a month long mystery game. 30 contestants in hotel. You can bring whatever weapons and traps you want. Every day someone will end up dead. You all can work together or try to survive but unless you find the killer well....to win simply find the killer or killers. Only 2 killers are within the 12 blocks. They can be part of your 30 and the actually contestant is already dead. You’ll never know. But everyone else outside the zone watches on the cameras installed in the blocks. Batman stopped a few but it’s only when the killer is high profile. The contestants all volunteer. And the winners each walk away with 72k, armored vehicle and 5 of riddlers loyal combat robot. Real games deserve real prizes. A long time ago the 1 killer actually killed all 30 and won. It was a school girl named Harley. Harley Quinn. I’m sure you heard of her.

You should check out Lieutenant Joe Kenda, fantastic detective. His innate talent made it possible for him to solve over 380 murders out of 400 during his career. The poor man has been retired now for years and goes and gets a job driving a school bus. Can you say nerves of titanium? He also is haunted by the cases he was not able to solve, he dreams about them standing all around his bed and wakes up in a sweat. Such a hero. Why can't there be more men like Joe Kenda and David Marshburn?

who knows if this would have ever been solved if not for David, the hero who was out there for months without even having been asked or payed by the family. He did it because he was able to and he knew it was the right thing. These cases make me see the worst in people all the time, but it's people like this, and stories like this, that restore my faith in humanity a little bit

2 sad things about this case: 1) The person who told Kelli about Nick being a convicted child molester could have come forward and helped solve the case a lot quicker (motive would have been obvious). 2) Froggy Bottoms closed and I can't get my frog on no more :(

I'd agree if I believed that person existed. I don't think anyone told her anything. I think he came onto her, she rejected him and he snapped. Sometimes these dudes make up BS in some sick way of internally justifying their cowardly actions. Speaking of the Frog though. It struck me that they had 600 people looking for her and it seems like she was in the backyard of the place she was last seen, close to the bushes where the person she was last seen with was living. They must have walked right over her.

You're right, that would have cleared up quite a bit. Establish a motive. A girl goes missing, last seen at Froggy's. Registered sex offender works there and lives in his car behind the place. Body eventually found in the woods not far away. Seems pretty straightforward...but 2 yrs.
