Knowing what Gege said a few weeks ago about when JJK will end, this will probably age like a fine wine. You hit the nail on the head: Gege suffers from what Brandon Sanderson calls “creating a shallow ocean instead of a deep pond.” He used this analogy to describe the disappointment he felt when he played an rpg that was far and wide in the world but with very little to do. In short: it’s cool on the surface but ultimately lackluster.

Thank you! I have said that for the longest time but I genuinely think the show is great. It just has a lot of problems that people absolutely refuse to acknowledge and its side cast is genuinely great. The problem is is that you kill them off before they're developed and not just leaves. Fans going confused because now we're sitting here like well. I thought this character was going to get a whole story now there's nothing left for them. Either that or it's an incomplete story

From the get-go, JJK never gave me anything to be invested in. Not the characters, not the plot, not the writing, certainly not the non-existent depth. Even the worldbuilding and internal logic is so-so. I get that it's one of the darlings of this generation of anime fans, but it's one of the crappiest I've ever watched. Feels hollow to the core.

You summed up exactly what I find wrong with jjk. A lot of my friends and a bunch of ppl near my age said it was amazing , incredible, a masterpiece, etc. but I never felt like it had that emotional impact or significance to be invested in the show. The only time I’ve felt that the show lived up to its hype was the hidden inventory arc. First season was painful to watch and I forced myself to watch it twice. I really wanted to enjoy and like the show, but it doesn’t really offer much besides “wow cool badass character and good fights.”

The characters just felt too 2-dimensional to me. They don't feel like real people, just caricatures of a specific type of personality. I'm also very critical of dialogue, and the thing I immediately noticed was how much the characters love vomiting exposition. Like everyone becomes a text-to-speech thesaurus machine whenever information needs to be explained to the viewers regarding the world building, even if it goes against their personality, they always just get possessed by the spirit of exposition. I just hate that shit.

Points for JJK: - Where are the alumni of Jujutsu School? - Is there more members of Gojo clan? - Is there really no more than Higher ups and the clans for Jujutsu society? - Yuki only had 1 actual fight - Why does Gojo have not much screen time with the students, especially other teachers - Geto faction doesn't really have any impact in the story - Megumi not showing his potential (he could try to get more shikigami than mahoraga) - So little known about Shadow styles - Not much about cursed tools and cursed spirits being insignificant after Shibuya - Sukuna ass pulls - others

The main point is the uselessness of the zenin clan. THEY ARE LITERALLY THE NUMBER ONE OF THE NOBLE CLAN. Gege could just go deeper and make some sort of redemption arc and has the zenin also jump on sukuna. But overall its just stupid that despite the show is named 'Sorcery fight' there is not much that explored. The only exploration is one member of one of the clan that is lacking and one-sided.

One of my pet peeves with modern day anime is, I noticed in the more recent shonen anime, they would EXPLAIN to you when introducing a character or situation in narration rather than SHOWING it you. For example, when a strong villain appears for the first time and the situation became dire, they would literally say it in the narration, almost like announcing to us, ‘Behold! The villain has come. You should be afraid.’ It’s like the author think we wouldn’t get it without him telling us so. I remember the first time Orochimaru suddenly appeared without any explanation whatsoever, he scared the shit out of me. Even without any narration, anyone would naturally find he’s creepy and know he’s a bad deal just by watching the scene (and listening to the eerie BGM). I hate that now everything has to be explained to you at face value, rather than letting us readers or viewers figuring it out ourselves. It’s not just the anime or manga industry has changed, the fans too has changed. For better or worse

Reading JJK is like reading ADHD. It lacks a focus, it latches onto big events simply because the events are eye grabbing and it glosses over the very important details that give any story it's volume. Meat is great but meat with a great side dish, appetizer and dessert is better. Constant death of characters you barely care about, because they are never around long enough, gets boring about the third time it happens. Gege had an amazing premise but his story suffered from the opposite of too many cooks; Gege tried to cook but he would have made a better meal if he had a crew filling in the world around his creation. JJK is too bland at the end of the day.

Jujutsu Kaisen suffers from GoT syndrome paired with the worrying trend of shock factor and ninhilism bullshit being prioritised over compelling story telling. At first it grabs you with how brutal and unapologetic it is, which many mistake for a "mature" story, but after a while every reader with a brain notices there is no real substance to plot or worldbuilding. The way I feel about JJK is that things just...happen. There doesnt' feel like any real narrative direction or force. The protagonists do not feel like protagonists because they don't get enough develop nor attention nor care in their handling. They sometimes feel like observers of their own series. It's bizarre. I want to like A LOT about the series...but it simultaneously feels like it is trying to make me NOT care about it. Characters are discarded willy nilly with no narrative weight. Unlike GoT which has understandable stakes and mortality, a lot of deaths in JJK just feel like they happen "because" since the stakes often feel so weightless...so characters just die when it is arbitrarily decided they die and not because of a result of their actions. The entire series, I have felt like Gojo is the least interesting, least compelling character...yet gets immense focus not only in-series but in a meta context. Yes, he's strong. Okay? Saitama is strong too...but he's also interesting. He's likeable. He's enjoyable to see do things. Gojo? Not so much. He feels like every 14 year old writing an aloof ultra-powerful douche that is 'oh so detached from the world' because 'my power is sooo much oh woe is me' and it's just not interesting. Hanami? Mahito? Far more interesting than Gojo. Hell, a lot more interesting than most characters in the series. At least it feels like they are striving for goals. What is ANYONE's goal at this point? Uh stop Sakuna I guess. Wow. How intriguing. Stop the ultra strong guy. Why? The world barely seems to react to absurdly insane things that happen to it. Magic is suddenly real and ghosts are overrunning places and whatnot...and it feels like it's utterly detached from everything. It doesn't matter. I dunno I'm just rambling but this series just feels absolutely hollow and soulless.

The biggest thing I would say is that that the story is just a big pile of "and then, and then, and then." It's just stuff being thrown at us and people swallow it up because the anime has crazy animation, and gege's incredibly petty personality means that the story will "subvert" the tropes of shonen for no actual reason. I mean how long has it been since Maki killed the entire zenin clan? and how come absolutely no one comments on it, or makes their own judgement? This manga is the definition of "zoomer", it just throws stuff at you nonstop. Another thing that annoys me about the power system is the lack of actual explanation of the mechanics. Like how does a curtain specifically work? Why can someone create fields of cursed energy that mask the activity of cursed energy from the outside? That sounds more like an innate cursed technique rather than basic cursed energy manipulation, and if that's actually normal cursed energy manipulation then why isn't anyone actually using it to shape their cursed energy into something else different than a domain/curtain like a weapon or tool? Or what specifically alters/decides a person's innate technique? If normal negative emotions directed at a specific thing like fears or events create curses themed around those things then why does each sorcerer have innate techniques that aren't really tied to what they experienced in their childhood, but rather they just have a randomly picked base ability that always reflect them?

JJK has really intriguing fight sequences with strategies and action, but no emotional weight or reasons to care about their characters behind any of them. MHA makes you care about the characters and has a ton of emotional weight, but the actual fights themselves (with the exception of maybe Deku vs Kacchan 2) are just two meatheads punching each other to see who's stronger. I think it's because, at least in the first season, the story seemed like it was going to have substance. We met the characters, learned a bit about them, caught a glimpse of this world, and then it ended. We all assumed that the bits of introductory depth would get expanded upon in later seasons, because that's how stories work, but then Gege just....didn't. Character arcs didn't develop any further, the plot just became a revolving door of cool looking but narratively empty fights, and the world-building became increasingly nonsensical the more we learned about it.

Gege sees shocking character deaths and hype moments as substitute for writing a story that makes sense, has an emotional heart, and has characterisation. Yuji’s whole character after shibuya is being a blank slate to watch innocent people around him die so he gets angry and more powerful after every death. it’s so bad. and he keeps doing shitty ass pulls with Sukuna. we will get told certain characters or certain moves can beat Sukuna, and have it built up for like 40 chapters, only for him to randomly be like “oh i actually have a secret move i haven’t used in 600 years” and kill all the sorcerers without trying. Gege is such a bad story teller it’s ridiculous.
@Homururu
@Homururu 7 месяцев назад
I think my biggest gripe with JJK's overall message is... I don't know, dubious? What's the story even about? Clearly not about Yuji saving the world from a demon by sacrificing everything it means to be him. If it were about that, he'd be the main focus of the story, but he's not. What message are we supposed to take away from it? What's it trying to teach the viewers? That goth boys and goth girls are cool? AoT and Demon Slayer have whole arcs and stories dedicated to telling us about the duality of man, about how no one is born good or evil, and about the importance to forgive and move on. It uses death, not as shock value, but as a cornerstone that propels their core message to new heights. What's JJK's reason for killing off all their characters? At this point, it's starting to feel like it's because there's just too many to juggle all at once, trying to keep them relevant. Death after death, it just seems to be cash grab after cash grab. It's stupid, shallow and a complete waste of time At this point, I feel like JJK's character designs, MAPPA's animation and the fanservice/comic relief scenes are the only things keeping it going. I just can't understand the hype at all. When it's over, I get the feeling that if you ask a fan what the series is about, they'll answer the same as when it started. "It's a manga about killing demons so they can defeat the demon lord." Using my earlier examples of AoT and DS, they initially seem like generic "kill generic monster that will generically kill all my generic loved ones" and then by the end, you realize there' s so much more than that. JJK is a failure in storytelling kept alive by it's honestly kind of cult-like fanbase.

The lack of cursed technique reversals makes me wonder why gege bothered adding it. Gojo and Kenjaku are the only characters that use it and even then, Gojo is the only one to use it on more than one occasion. Red could've just been an extension technique like Nobara's hairpin and nothing of value would've been lost. It's pretty clear that Gege only had Gojo in mind when coming up with CTRs and that's very disappointing because conceptually, Reversals were more interesting than Maximum Output and Domain Expansion, which were just variations of giving your cursed technique steroids. Maybe Gege should've kept his cursed techniques straight forward like Blue as then it would make coming up with reversals for other characters much easier. Honestly, cursed energy as a power system was "wide as a lake, deep as a puddle." It has bunch of cool concepts but most of them aren't explored or developed beyond their initial stage. As a result, this system just rnds up being underwhelming as a whole.

okay, a comment section where I can rant about jjks problems without getting killed, alright sweet, here I go. Jujutsu kaisan is a story that has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it was made in a way that limits it. the characters dont have meaningful backstories that their actions reflect. because that is what gege is trying to achieve with them but fails Nobara's backstory felt literally inserted because he forgot that he hasnt put one in yet and every shonen character needs a backstory, but it doesnt do anything to her character. the overwhelming cast members do make jujutsu high feel like it has a population but it also makes attention diverted. the fights are incredibly well animated in the second season but thats about it. Gege struggles a lot with meaningful build up, or just the lack of it. he will know what he wants to do and what effect it will have, but wont give an emotional build up to those events. my example is s2, maki, nanami, and that old bag vs the squid thing. that fight just kind of... happened? it was devoid of emotion or intruige outside of fighting just to kill, only when toji shows up does gege start doing something interesting, because that was all he had planned, everything else was just to fill the time. despite fighting being the glue for the show, it doesn't really tick all the boxes for a good fight. Lots of things just happen because they just happen. the only real fight that I thought was amazing was jugo vs sukuna, because it served as a tug of war for control for sukuna, and a way of measuring what a big deal this guy is on the loose. sukuna vs mahogara on the other hand put me to sleep, sure the thing is a clan summon and no one can tame it, and sukuna gas to protect megumi, but we just established his strength an episode ago, I don't think the fight should be scrapped but it certainly is lacking a meaningful want and stakes if either fails. having time for the main trio to bond, explore their characters and why they act the way they do, their goals and ambitions, fears and vulnrabilities would make them all feel so much more human, and give me a reason to cheer for them. I should want to see them succeed because I WANT to see them succeed. ignoring characters, jjk tends to yap. my brain has flat lined when some characters talk because they just discuss why their thing works and how it works, and how it ties in with the main plot and yada yada. oh, another gripe I have, which is mahito's existence. I had the same problem with him as I did with orochimaru from naruto. except then I saw the reason why orochimaru was cool. Mahito is given a strange amount of importance, or at least, his purpose doesn't match his importance. He overall doesn't do much except keep showing up. he doesn't display any kind of theme or connection with anyone, in fact, it feels forced how he keeps telling yuji that "they're the same". NO THEY ARE NOT, if anything they're the same as every other character in the show, not giving up until the other is dead. Mahito's character was never a hurdle for Yuji to overcome, it could have been anyone in place of mahito, but nothing that mahito's character uniquely could have done did anything to affect Yuji. He represents chaos and evil, but Yuji doesn't exactly represent order and discipline, he represents good, but doesn't every hero? in conclusion I have more to say but I don't feel like it would add anything, I've already started repeating myself. character seems to be the most repeated, and is thus the most underwhelming part of jjk

Honestly, if Gege didn't have this fetish on villans (she/he admited that on a interview), all these knots could be tied, if you watch/read again, see everytime a main character could have been developed in some way, they aren't because the villans won, the most ANNOYING of all of this is Mahito's death, Yuji can't even kill him to revenge his allies, Nobara has the perfect counter to Mahito technique and DIES before even fighting him, and when Mahito's is about to die, he gets absorved by Kenjaku, because without Mahito's technique Kenjaku's plan was over. Every single time, Villans get away unharmed, because of that the main cast can't develop properly. Remember how cool was Yuji learning Black Flash against Hanami? Yeah, JJK used to have potential. In my opinion, the series peaked at the Hidden Inventory Arc where the two SIDE characters (Geto and Gojo) get fleshed out really well so we could understand and connect with them. And then comes the Shibuya Incident, while it has some good moments, there were a lot of writing choices made by the author that I find very questionable, one of such is the introduction of many new characters just for them to die without doing much to the plot except fighting a little bit? Another is the killing off of characters that do not have enough development for us to even care about (with the exception of three, the rest are just bad), which also results in the loss of potential plotlines And then the next arc is the Zenin Clan Arc? and holy hell if those questionable choices are not some red herrings. That arc is not only bad in terms of idea but also execution, thereby causing me to lose interest in the series as a whole I haven't caught up to the culling arc yet, but from the reception by others and from what I've been spoiled, I'm not sure that I would bother checking out this series again as there are lots of better series out there

Gotta disagree w the Rock Lee thing. Definitely was wasted potential, his character arc only ended because he wasn’t utilized not because he had no more value or no more growth. Actually, he never even got to fight Neji which was a big thing for him and sort of built up. He could’ve had a whole character arc after his recovery because prior to shippuden he was still injured and couldn’t even open anything past the 1st gate. Shikamaru isnt wasted, just poorly utilized later on. Bro has an arc where he’s the co main character and he has several novels. Anybody who thinks he’s wasted idk why. Neji’s arc was supposed to end cause apparently he was supposed to die against the sound 4. Separate from that I agree w your JJK analysis cause bro the arcs feel so off to me. @@dark_nightwing_xl2797that's because the arc structure is fast paced and the characters are put into situations where the themes aren't fully executed. For example, yuji's realization after Shibuya is that a jujutsu sorcerer bears the responsibility and weight of every action, and to continue moving forward despite the pain of losing others close to you. Here's the problem here, yujis mindset development isn't explored in culling games arc, just lets implement a fight sequence in-between, add a few incoherent explanations of what's happening next via dialogue of the characters, and some random plot twist, repeat. This repeats multiple times after Shibuya btw, yuji wants to participate in the culling games to receive points, sukuna used enchain to trick yuji and take megumis body as a vessel. Sukuna is introduced into a new body and main antag of the series again, another few fight sequences between characters. Gojo ends up being unsealed and they unironically wait a few months to fight, no outside fleshed out explanations of what happened during that time besides yujis training and somewhat. Just all around very badly written arcs carried by the fight sequences. Even the fight sequences are hard to follow sometimes with the way they are being drawn. Too much heavy dialogue and explanation for a power system that is so inconsistent it's sad. Antagonist watered down to an offscreened comedic gag and saved by an asspulled power up never mentioned, previously before another badly executed character death. Just all around all flash, no substance.

One of the worst parts of the latest arc is the timeskip, Gojos been gone for about 130 chapters, he comes back for like two? Then it jumps forward to his fight with Sukuna, everything that happens in JJK is always glossed over to get to the next fight, that timeskip exemplifies that problem. Definetly one of the reasons most characters are static, if they die its just that, we move on, if they leave, they're mentioned once or twice then not a word for the next hundred chapters. Not even mentioning how awful the Sukuna fight has been, from him getting lucky enough to get that cursed tool for Judgeman to take instead of his technique and every one to three chapters a new character comes over to fight him, get hyped up, then die. LIKE FUCKING MIGUEL!? Gege went back to get a character from the PREQUEL just to get him to fight Sukuna, chronologically Miguel has been gone for like 12 years and now hes just come along to be the next guy thrown into the meat grinder to fill time to figure out how hes gonna let them win against Sukuna. The worst part for me is how weak the villains are as characters. The disaster curses were actually pretty good, but they all died and we were left with Kenjaku and Sukuna. Kenjaku was hyped up to have some secret master plan, then it turns out his only goal is to turn Japan into a giant curse monster because….he wants to see what happens. That’s literally it, one day he thought “what would happen if I made this big monster,” so he spent the next 1000 years trying to do that. Meanwhile Sukuna just likes fighting and killing people, and now he wants to make the big curse monster purely because Yuji doesn’t want him to do that. Neither of the main antagonists have ideologies or personal desires, they only do the things they do because they’re the story’s villains and villains are supposed to do villain things.

My problem with the Mahito situation is that, as you said, it was a sidequest but became the only real and tangible conection of the protagonist with the story. There was absolutely nothing related to Sukuna or Kenjaku there except for the fact that Mahito was best buds with Kenjaku. Junpei wasn't somebody Itadori saved from Kenjaku's plans or something, he was just a guy he found somewhere and whom he forged a conection with. That is great, and when Mahito killed him revenge became sort of Itadori's motivation. This was more tangible than "I am Sukuna´s vessel, so I should find them all and die with a purpose" stuff and was even more developed, since we have an entire arc of Junpei and Itadori being friends (Even the anime OP knew this was important). However, Mahito was killed off by Kenjaku, in a weird attempt to redirect Itadori's rage towards the main villain, and I am steelmaning a pro argument against why the author did this because I seriously believe this is bad writing. One thing they could have done that would have worked marvelously is have Itadori go out of a mission or tense situation just to get Mahito. He would have to learn, probably the hard way, that revenge, hatred and anger can consume a sorcerer and would focus him more towards defeating Sukuna and curses. This would not only give Itadori a much direct impact in the story, but also some depth to his character. Also, this would build up on the concept that Sorcerer's should control their emotions, as we saw on Itadori's training. It would just flow more naturally and in sync with the story's themes and ideas, but instead we got... a bad payoff, the destruction of the protagonist's motivation with no real consecuences (Vinland saga did this exact same thing, but it meant the redirection of the whole story to what it was first building upon) and just a bad taste in everyone's mind. It is very interesting how many people point to this incident to one of the most frustrating moments of JJK, because it IS. Itadori is a very bland and reactionary protagonist, and when you take away his motivation... it is just tragic.

It's pretty obvious that the author just got lazy and doesn't care anymore or the author's health issues are getting in the way of him being able to continue the story properly. The Shibuya incident arc is where the story peaks in terms of quality. Culling games is hit or miss and the quality of the art gets progressively worse as the culling games goes on. The side characters after shibuya such as the kyoto students and any teacher that isn't gojo gets completely sidelined and lose all importance to the story. Aside from yuji and megumi and maki, the rest of the side/other characters don't get any meaningful development as characters. The author tried to give noritoshi jr some more development in the naoya fight but that got squandered and overshadowed by maki getting a new ass pull power up and not needing noritoshi's help to defeat naoya at all.

I've just finished season 2, and the whole thing felt like one big set-up. This kind of structure, if done right, will definitely come with a huge payoff as well. But I think the reason why it's kind of underwhelming is because it takes too long to set up. Usually, if you want a big set-up, you have to sprinkle in some side plots that are relevant to the main plot throughout the whole process, so it feels like the story is going somewhere, and you get to feel the dopamine rush through the little payoffs along the way. This will motivate you to sit through such a long set-up. Then, when you're ready, drop it like a bomb.

Culling Games - Worst arc in JJK, pure humilation to characters. Just fights and fights, atleast dragon ball gives the characters breaks. Its actually sad. After Jogo Vs Sukuna it went downhill. Cant believe people actually like this. They humilated Nobara and Gojo so hard. Especially Nobara, the way she died was ENTIRELY EMBARRASSING. If Gego kills Maki,Yuta,Megumi hopefully fans quit and ACTUALLY tell him. He already has humilated yuki, dont humilate these.

Your domain expansion argument intrigued me the most. Back in the day when Bleach was still ongoing during the tybwa people would complain everyone has a Bankai. They would say this Bankai is a powerful weapon but yet everyone has it. In DBZ fans were annoyed that everyone was becoming a super saiyan. So even tho none of the MC have it and only primarily the special grades, it makes DE more special. And that when a MC gives us a fully realized DE its going to be hype.

I don't mind the lack of Domain Expansions but the lack of Maximum techniques and Reversals are unfortunate, to say the least. In the series, Domain Expansion aren't fully fleshed out but they seem to have nothing to do with actual training and preparations. Megumi is only a Grade 2 at the time yet had been capable of activated a Domain (granted, it was incomplete). In the series we gained a deeper insight into Domains from a Sumo Wrestler hones into the fact that Domains are based upon self discovery and self actualization; something that cannot be achieved through simply just training. Nanami had been stated to train for a long time yet had been unable to achieve a Domain. Therefore, Domain Expansions are a ultimate move that the characters within our cast must go through to unlock through a rite of self-discovery and self-actualization. Megumi had been able to achieve his Domain at the moment he did was because he completely disregarded that box he placed himself. He removed himself from being a team-player to be an individual that can be selfish and care about himself. That was him completely a step to self-discovery which unlocked his Domain. Maximum Techniques are the second strongest form of technique that can be used by a Jujutsu Sorcerer. It is unfortunate that we do not see more of these but it can be understand that it being the second highest form of Sorcerery one can achieve that we won't see people just walking around with it but most definitely, Reversals are a crime. We need to see more of that. On the topic of Clans and their inherited technique, it makes sense of narratively. All Clans work on a hierarchy system which is very traditional. If one is born with the Ten Shadow Technique then they'd automatically find themselves in the position of Clan leadership. This is the same for the Six Eyes and Limitless for the Gojo. This is the same for Blood Manipulation for the Kamo. It's lack amongst the member of the clans is simply suppose hone into the traditional aspect of these Clans which makes sense to me. Not every clan needs to have a copy and pasted ability of the other. It isn't necessary. But, I would love to see the appearance of minor clans with their own inherited techniques.

Reversals are only pulled by the masters of jujitsu and most techniques cannot even have reversals . Look at chose for example . What is the opposite of blood bending? something like kashimos lightning can be maybe reversed into a different phenomenon but the question still stands , which is what is the true nature of reversals, are all techniques able to be reversed. How much mastery does one need to pull it of. In the case of gojo it took him a near death experience to gain "enlightenment" and freely cast red and also created purple . Yuuta might have used it since he is the second strongest but still he has no technique of his own just the ability to steal others .

Maximum techniques would be cool to see on grade 1's. Grade 1's only have cursed techniques, but no maximum, no domain, and no reversals. It's boring to watch them get clapped by a special grade when they don't even stand a chance
@hankplays9619
@hankplays9619 6 месяцев назад
Reversal are also very hard as the requirement is to be able to perform reverse cursed technique which even gojo with six eyes was not able to perform until his near death expirence.

This might just be a me thing, but the power imbalance absolutely pisses me off, especially when it comes to the side quest characters. I keep going back to the shibuya incident when Choso and Yuji fight in the bathroom. I really thought it'd finally be the time his character actually grew into his own power, but no, he gets beaten the shit out of and despite Choso having no visible injuries, he acts like hes been seriously injured.. then Yuuji dies and only lives because Sukuna plot convince. Yuji cries about not being able to save anyone, breaks down, basically about to let Mohito kill him- then Todo shows up! Great, hes motivated and angry, should see some growth from him- aaaand no. There was a scene where Mohito was chasing Todo and was reaching to grab some people to transfigure, but the way the scene played out I thought Yuji would sweep in and grab them, since he was just upset about the same issue, and the Mohito would question how he suddenly got so fast- but nah. Yuji's stuck in a freaking train and we don't see him until a few minutes later which he conveniently gets out in time to follow Todo upstairs! And my feelings for the ending of Yuji and Mohito's beef? The wolf and rabbit hunting scene they had honestly felt completely undeserved to me, but I was starting to like it, hoping we'd finally get a little more outta Yuji- but nah, Geto just eats him :D yaaaay, im so invested.. idk dude, want to get the manga but im broke and don't wanna waste money on a bunch of books when I'm gonna end hating the story. Which sucks, because the first one seriously pulled me in and made me love the characters and at the time, the story being presented. Might be spelling errors :/

I am gonna disagree with the Mahito plot, like yeah there was no catharsis with Mahito's death but that I feel was intentional we were meant to feel what Yuji felt: ROBBED. While I can understand why you feel this might be less satisfying saying its bad writing is simply ignoring any analysing the text or intention of the author and story.

Idk if it's because I binged season one and two but thr it's absolutely not as tragic as people make it out to be. Nanami wasn't there enough for me to care that much about him.
