Coffee Lake cpus getting f*cking HOT! I sold my 8700K when it hit 75 degrees just for opening chrome... ON WATER COOLING! (got a freaking NZXT Kraken X62. I remounted it like 3 times and even tested it on a Ryzen......the cooler was fine btw 😂😲)

@LordIron I don't see how that's any better when he's aware of the problem, yet the problem has never been resolved. In fact it's gotten worse over time with Fallout 76 only being the pinnacle of an issue that's been going on throughout most of their flagship series'.

Navi, Zen2, Sunny Cove, 8cx? The only way 2019 is not going to be a good year for PC gaming is if ALL of these are disappointing. Navi is the most important though - if it's bad enough, and everything else is average, it will still not be good enough. We need cheap mid-range graphics as well as better CPUs.

Funny thing about Walmart's gaming PC, back in the Windows 3.2 and 95 days you could buy decent PC's from the same types of retail stores... before Walmart was a huge retailer. Ofcourse you had a choice of beige box or beige box... but they were decently priced for the hardware inside said beige box. Not the greatest hardware but priced reasonably for what you get. Anywho, where is the benchmarks for the build?

The seeds of consumer resentment and disappointment have been planted in Nvidia's yard. It's only a matter of time until they really see true hardship and struggle. Hopefully AMD's next GPU architecture won't be another abysmal piece of trash and will be compelling next time around. Then the seeds will sprout.

Mr BuzzKill so were those low-end cards with their GDDR3 and DDR3 versions or their 1GB and 2GB versions (that did improve absolutely nothing because it's not the bottleneck of those cards). Both manufacturers did trick people with misleading labels on this low-end market. That's disappointing but not a surprise. And at least this time you don't have an old architecture renumbered like an actual one, it's a Pascal chip.

My parenthesis was about the usefulness of 2GB models (or 4GB), not on the type of RAM. And that adds up with DDR : At the same price, a newbie will take the DDR3 2GB instead of the GDDR3 1GB. Yes that's disgusting but in fact it's less a scam comparing to the past. In that marketing Nvidia seems to finally improve a bit.

I'm an Intel guy, have my 9700 at 5.0 on all cores prime stable at 1.250 and love in on a real water loop BUT an waiting to c how AMD does with its new chips and cards bc if they do what they say my 2nd rig will be AMD all the way.

I think most people who are against them just don't see the with of the product. Key selling points aren't even being made use of and it has similar performance to a 1080ti but for almost double the price. I'm holding off getting one until ray tracing becomes more common. Rtx might be the hold grail of graphics, but you don't drink simple water from a grail. Seems like it will be a really good card coming soon. But nvidia saying just buy it was pretty damn dumb.

@@rspoonzzz9428 Well people buy ferraris even you are not allowed to drive faster than 110 to 130km/h except germany...RT and Tensor will be the future and the price tag well nobody knows if its fair but latest tech is always more expensive. And kost crying kiddos are just people hoping they can get it for less if they cry. If nobody buys it we will see if the price is droping if its not droping we know it was realy expensive in development and future cards will have the same for less money. Marketing was realy bad they should just wait 2 more month with release and bring the card with 2 or 3 games which are already supporting it.

If only DXR didn't bog down in-game performance so much; Even with the newly released patch. Remember when nVidia showed an illustration of the RTX graphics processing pipeline? It showed ray tracing and INT32 shading being processed in parallel with FP32 shading and DNN processing. This ended up being misleading, because it suggests that adding ray tracing would not significantly impact frame rendering times. But it does. So what is it that is delaying frame times and reducing performance so much? Is it ray tracing itself, ai denoising, or something else? I want to see RTX and DXR functionally broken down to their most simple parts, to see where the problem really lies. Well, I guess it's not a problem if it's part of the design.

I expected it to be this way from the beginning: with RTX off all the power envelope can go towards the graphics cores; with RTX on some of that has to be diverted to the tensor and RTX cores. The only thing I was surprised at was just how much of an impact it made. I'm sure that no-one here is still running their power target at 100%. Try turning it down to 50% and see what happens, I'll wait... Shocking, isn't it?

because it would be at the cost of pictures that would usually help you with connecting together stuff for example. I'd appreciate some limited edition mat though, it really looks cool on the shirt at least.
