Whenever Fulgrim finally comes back to the setting, I really hope Perty shows and pulls a Be'lakor. Just shows up without fanfare and royally fucks over Fulgrim, just for the sake of it.

By chance I just finished Angel Exterminatus yesterday. Spot on timing :p

A well organized and disciplined 3rd Legion could've made the Siege of Terra entirely different.

Could have Fulgrim been saved at that point? Yes, quite probably... but someone would have had to free the rest of his soul (if not his entire soul) from a certain painting way before Fabulous Bill went with his perfect clonning program...

What would Manus have been given by the Emperor had he lived? Just as the lion has the shield, and Guilaman has his sword.

Of all the traitor primarchs only Magnus and Perturabo could have entirely swung the results by staying loyal. Traitor or not Fulgrim's pride was too easy to bait into a trap.

By corrupting Fulgrim, chaos may have put him on their side, but it also made him and his legion a bunch of incompetent hedonists. Or as DJ Khaled would put it: "Congratulations, you played yourself."

I'll always have a soft spot for Perty in my heart. I think it's such a shame that he was written into demonhood

What happened to the third legion is a good reason why you never do chaos. It always ends badly.

Perty was absolute G in the Horus heresy and the Siege of Terra, he did not put up with Fulgrim BS.

100/100, not even Perturobo could keep a straight face at the freakshow that was a primarch falling to slannesh. I mean, who could? I'd love to see the emperor's reaction to such a sight.

I wish Perturabo was just against everybody. After the siege, he never goes to the Eye, he never "ascends" to demonhood, and he still hates the Imperium. He and his Iron Warriors are just their own masters and do what they want, when they want.

I think Perturabo, more than anyone else, was conned into going traitor. He was watched by the Star Maelstrom since his birth. Horus intentionally gave him punishing missions to break his spirit. Word Bearers sent agents to foment rebellion on Olympia. And now this, Fulgrim's epic con job in the Eye of Terror. Perturabo didn't turn traitor, he was *turned* traitor. He reminds me very much of Anakin Skywalker in that sense.

The Lord of Iron smh Sigma Primarch of the highest level . Took on the most difficult battles in the Great Crusade and told Chaos to suck his Iron will nothing but love for this character.

I think Perturabo's cynicism toward forgiveness hasn't got anything to do with Guilliman. I believe he's at the point where he realises exactly how he's doing the wrong thing. You have to remember that Perturabo didn't leave his father's imperium to build something better. He left it because he thought he was a liability to it.

Fulgrim is like that cool, smart, talented, handsome, popular, athletic and witty older friend you had in high school, who you then run into randomly 10 years later on the street as a drug addicted beggar. Such a sad and wasteful fall.

Mr. Turbo is one of the biggest reasons the heresy did the damage it did. His roll changed little from crusade to heresy. Poor bastard. I think fulgrim fell too hard too fast to be saved by only a brother

It is the great calamity of their fall to Chaos. Even when the traitor side was starting to win at Terra, each of the now demon primarchs had lost interest in that battle and cared only about their own plans apart from the war; their own personal triumphs, cosmic goals, etc. The basic legionnaires were (literally) forgetting why they were even on Terra, admitting to one another that they want to go back to crusade style conquest and building, not destroying their own worlds. Granted, they did so with eyes always looking over their shoulder because chaos bred fear and contempt; the old guard and new guard were fractured and thus the legions became traitorous to each other. Each who was interested in conquering Terra simply wanted to be first and to get credit for it, not because they believed in Horus' cause anymore. One can't simply fall to Chaos. Just being in the Warp doesn't mean you come out with mutations. There has to be some element of internal weakness and surrender. All gains are temporary, while it comes at an enormous cost that lasts for an eternity. They lose their faculties, motor control and function, and even their minds. All for a burst of strength, or a tentacle, or some more resilience. They all HATE who they have become, but only in fleeting bits because they lose their memories and cognizance as well. Thus is can only be about personal glory from that point on as they are otherwise enslaved permanently. Demon princes are not "ascended" beings, but forever enslaved to the Chaos gods. They no longer get to do whatever they want; proof of which is Mortarion being locked in Nurgle's Garden after failing to do as he was ordered and losing in the Ultramar region. This is why Abaddon mocked all four of them from Horus' barge by saying, "You could have been kings of men, of empires; instead you are slaves to demons." All that aside, I hope Perturabo's fluff gets retconned and he isn't a demon prince. He was one, much like Horus and Abaddon, who abhors the idea of demons and was vehemently against it. It's why Abaddon will never become a demon prince; it's why Horus never was (and the Emperor literally deleted his soul so Chaos can't bring him back anyway); and Perturabo never should have become one when they first wrote about him in the 90's. Ascended elements? Sure; a monstrous mix of demigod and machine. But I suppose they already gave us Vashtorr...

What I find interesting is the difference between Perturabo and Ferrus Manus in their character presence. Ferrus yields the lime light to others even in his own primarch novel. On the other hand Perturabo will make sure you remember him whether or not he's the main character. That's why the two iron legions are my favorites.

I think Fulgrim being confused by the fact that he's in fact, not close to Guilliman might be the daemon talking. It was trying to sound all chummy but screwed it all up

I'm pretty sure that Fulgrim was always going to fall. He's written with that kind of personality - he often becomes petulant when he's not given the respect he thinks he deserves, in a way that just screams "Whiny L'il BIATCH!". In that way he's a lot like Perturabo - the problem is that Perturabo tends to be truly disrespected for no justifiable reason, while Fulgrim tends to be unintentionally patronized for somewhat justifiable reasons (his tiny legion). And when Perturabo broods and grouches about getting the shittiest of jobs and no respect from any other legion, it's easy to sympathize with him. And you get the sense that Perturabo believes that if he can just be better, and have his Legion perform better, someone will notice. It's an almost positive reaction, and it makes Perturabo endearing. When Fulgrim gets told his legion is too small to be of much use on its own, Fulgrim's pouting just makes him look arrogant and possibly stupid. And you get the sense that Fulgrim is more concerned about proving the person disrespecting him wrong rather than proving himself to be capable. Which is entirely a negative reaction, and it makes Fulgrim aggravating.

I think it's stupid how they've written perturabo into becoming a demon. Doesn't make any sense considering his stoic and logical behaviour.

The heresy was mainly just dorn vs horus and perturabo.

The things Perturabo gets most criticized for are the same things that make him oddly appealing, imo. The bitterness. The pettiness. The way he just took shit and got madder and madder about it instead of voicing his issues (relatable). It's funny just how much of a little shit he is, and how little of a damn he gives about anyone else's feelings. And if nothing else, you have to give him points for consistency - he hated everyone before the heresy, and he still hates everyone now. Everything around him has changed, but Peter Turbo, he's got a brand, and he's sticking with it.

Fulgrim could have been a Sanguinius figure with hints of Perturabo and his engineering genius which would be scary. But his pride lead to his downfall.

Fulgrim is that spoilt kid whose parents were as loving as could have been with them, clearly even showing favoritism towards the pampered ponce. Who has been given everything, even some of the finest toys his Daddy, who just so happens to be Big E could muster for him. But yet still chirps when turned down for the first time ever (in this case not being given the reason why his father needs to do his roadrunner act back to terra, AWWWW poor Fulgrim) that classic line 'I HATE you daddy! I wished you was dead!!!' 🤣🤣

So... I was thinking. Since the Gods of the Warp call the Emperor Anathema....and since via warp presences alone Big E erased the God Blight from Girly boy's body....I bet he could also cure Purdy of the taint

The Emperor's Children would have been one of if not the best loyalist legion. Also, I think Perty falling to chaos is dumb and just doesn't make sense... he's too smart, logical, calculating, etc. Just to fall to chaos by his own choice, instead of being corrupted and unknowingly doing it like Fulgrim..

That arrival scene always makes me think of Burning Man

Just my personal opinion. I feel like GW should really give Chaos/Traitor Legions a revamp. You'd have Angron and the World eaters for Khorne Mortarion and the Death guard for Nurgle Fulgrim and the Emperor's children for Slaanesh Magnus and the Thousand sons for Tzeench Lorgar and the Word bearers for Chaos undivided (at least chaos as represented by the 4 gods) Mostly all as they are now (obviously expand on the ranges). Then we'd have Perturabo and the Iron warriors, they'd be chaos aligned technically, but I think a rebrand of more pure warp, minus the big 4 chaos gods. Perturabo would be a bit like Corax, embracing his warp entity side, he'd be the one traitor primarch not tainted by the 4 chaos gods, he'd have his own warp powers encased in a primarch styled dreadnought, with unaligned warp entities bound to the machinery. With Curze dead, the Night Lords remain a disparate motley of war bands, some break of to worship different chaos gods, but the majority remain "pure" a truly unaligned Traitor "legion". Abaddon and his Black legion would remain essentially the same, a mongrel legion of mixed lineages and beliefs. Alpharius/Omegon and the Alpha Legion would still be mostly the same, maybe expand on the whole part traitor part loyal aspect. Then we'd have a few warbands that while chaos adjacent are not entirely of chaos. Fabius Bile I see breaking away and have him with his own "legion" with his New men and other creations, since he takes a very atheistic stance towards the warp. Blackheart and his Red Corsairs, similar to the Black legion, have them as a mongrel legion with a mix of lineage and beliefs.

I think Perty as he is represents GWs biggest issue in the overarching lore. Why would he choose demonhood and if he does go Chaos undivided, why wouldn't he supplant Abandon entirely? Does baby Horus really compare in any meaningful way to Perty? It'd be great if they made him a wildcard renegade that swoops in one day to absolutely shitstomp Fulgrim as revenge. Just as Fulgrim is on the verge of some major victory. He near kills him, denies him his victory, says nothing to either side, then leaves.

Perturabo may yet become my favorite Traitor Primarch.

Out of them all fulgrim was just waiting to happen combined with his utter argance and belief that he is the pinical of perfection out of them all the one I would not turn my back on for a second it would be fugrin.pretubo was a little nieve thinking his brother was still the same brother all he had to do was look at fulgrim s men to know that all was not right .I think really pertubo deep down loved his brother even know.maybe he should have thought twice before pertabo rammed fulgrim s face into his workbench.my own opinion that is why fulgrim decapitated him not for houris no the fact he rammed his Head into his workbench lol

I honestly don't get anyone liking any of the Traitor Primarchs. Not to say the Loyalists are perfect. The Lion killing his chaplain(?) for speaking up about using psykers? Total dick move. Maybe a little pity for Angron, but liking Perturabo? The guy who strangled his elderly step-sister after killing his homeworld? Seriously? I mean, it's popular to blame the Emperor, you can always blame Mom and Dad, but these guys are hundreds of years old. Wtf. Anyway, nice video, Rho.

For me Fulgrim is in the top 5 disgusting bastards of the heresy. With Erebus and Lorgar being in the top 2.
