today in my never ending endeavour to find the worst movie ever made i tried to watch the high school musical spinoff sharpay's fabulous adventure but literally could not finish it so i gave up and watched the wizards of waverly place spinoff wizards return alex vs alex instead

Quick little fun fact: Austin Butler and Vanessa Hudgen's relationship pretty much existed because of Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure. Ashley introduced Austin and Vanessa to each other after meeting Austin on the set of that movie. 😂

In wizards, the MAIN reason against reliance on magic was only one of the three siblings would keep their magic, and even if you do end up keeping the magic, you also have to give it up to marry a mortal. So your odds of actually having magic in your adult life were fairly low..... Except as long as mason and alex are together, alex keeps her magic so of all people HE shouldn't care. That was the parent logic though

And in this part of the movie they already had the family wizards competition so it was already established that alex would keep her powers (and so will justin because of the events of the final competition) So it makes absolutely so sense to care about reliance on magic on the premise that it will disappear??

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure might not be as good as the original three High School Musical movies. 🍿 But knowing the cast (with one being nominated for an Oscar right now), so I conclude that the writers and the director got a little lazy with the plot, and whipped up a quick follow up, that I don’t remember anyone asking. Sharpay would never have approved with that finished movie 😂

If I was a wizard, I would definitely be abusing the magic. All have to do is not get caught using magic in the public and make sure I don’t make to much of a mess with the spells in question.

I remember loving Alex’s clothes and Harper’s quirky personality. Yes, Justin was relatable also. I guess Wizards of Waverly Place has been compared to HP forever, but I remember how it felt much more so when they met students in robes. I still loved Wizards of Waverly Place though and I adore the HP series and characters.

The moment Sharpay was alluded to I was ecstatic that Seamus is finally covering Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, growing up I never saw the original high school musical movies but I saw Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure and even if I have rose covered lenses from my childhood, it was nice to see it acknowledged😭

When I saw Austin Butler's name come up for Elvis, I kid you not, I said, wait, wasn't he on something for the Disney Channel? I straight up repressed what he was in, which was Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, but I did remember he was briefly a love interest in an episode of Hannah Montana. It was definitely a weird moment where I somehow remembered his name being mentioned in Disney channel commercials, but couldn't remember what he was in. I also for some reason thought he was the guy in Austin and Ally because I was convinced that the guy in that show was also named Austin.

Geek Charming was really cute. It came out while I was in film school and it hit different. It also helped that the main characters were an irl couple (at the time, I think they broke up) so they had really good comedic timing and chemistry together.

When I saw Alex vs Alex as a kid, I actually had a lot of fun watching it. But maybe that was just because I was excited to see the show come back again. Honestly, I didn’t really remember the plot very much. I probably only saw it one time, when it first came out, and then they never did any reruns

I was more of a Nick kid than a Disney kid. I don't remember watching the HSM movies. Maybe I casually watched it while doing hw or something. So when I watched SFA, I had very little background on Sharpay. But I loved the movie as a preteen! I liked the "Rest of My Life" song and I still listen to it sometimes as a 23 year old. I think I watched Alex vs Alex but I was never a hardcore Wizards fan so I hardly cared about it.
