I feel that the fact that regions like NA and EU switched over to the best of format in the regular season will really start paying off these next couple of years. One of the biggest strengths of the high ranking regions is their ability to adapt quickly in a best of series and much of that comes from experience of playing like that all the time. Now that it is the standard in lower ranking regions they should only improve in that aspect. Not saying it will guarantee they get on the same level as say the Korean teams because there are far more factors involved but the gap will close and will make for far more interesting competition all around.
Great video guys, loved listening to Frosks point of view! I'm a Jatt fanboy myself but everyone's comments were definitely interesting. Can't wait for worlds! TSM TSM TSM
ya, I used to not like her much when she was new but she has improved her image quite a bit over the years. I can really tell her improvements in public speaking on how to get her point across.
I watch the LPL, and every time when Froskurinn casts I'm so grateful :) She is a great caster with a lot of knowledge and presents her point clear enough for us to understand.
Reed Dudley You could always look it up, if you've youtube open you're only a few clicks away, incase you wanna know it is: 1 WE, Gambit, Lyon; 2 C9, Dire Wolfs, Team One; 3 Fnatic, Young Generation, Kaos Latin; 4 Hongkong Attitude, Fenerbaçhe, Rampage
Thinking about that last question... I really hope NV take advantage of their newest investment and improve their team and staff to lead NA to a future World Championship
I feel like the list was a little bit harsh on Jensen. You have Doublelift, you have Bjergsen, but nobody even had Jensen in their top 20, which feels kinda odd to me, because they were talking about how it was difficult with Rekkles and Zven, but I think with Jensen and Bjergsen, it was even closer. They were incredibly close in terms of the MVP voting, where Jensen would even won if the MVPs from regular season weren't taken into consideration. I also don't remember much situations, where Jensen was the cause for a C9 loss. I feel like that guy doesn't do a lot of big mistakes, even when they lose, he plays well most of the time, and he carries some games. So yeah, I don't think he is that much worse than Bjergsen, that you could squeeze another 10 or even more players between those two. He also performed pretty well internationally in the past.
I have a good idea, just make a top 10/20 list for every role rather than one list comparing roles that don't do the same things to meet win conditions.
Yeah to be fair china gets matched with koreans in quaters, is that something to do with them placing second so getting the harder seed, you can't just say they are the second best because they are unlucky and lose to the best
I'm surprised no one mentioned that you might get some interesting supports since there are ardent sensor junglers available. Also for how NA wins worlds - China overperforms and kills Korean team, then underperforms and loses to NA in finals.
I think Froskurin has a lot of good points especially about DW the OCE team coming into play-ins. Their players arte amongst the highest of the boocamping players in KR slolq and they tend to play the game the "correct" way. They also got lucky they have C9 in their group as the major region team since I think C9 is probably the only team out of C9, FNC, WE and HKA they could upset. I think DW have a good shot at reaching groups if they upset C9 and then dodge GMB in the bo5. In a world where this happens we could then also have FNC vs C9 in a bo5 and just imagine the salt coming from the losing region.
Is it me or now that clearlul proved that he didn't deserve top 20 last 3 years, they are using the "leadership" thing that they used to hype him with, but with Meiko. Or is it just something standard they say even when the player doesn't do the shotcalls?
I think it's a good list. The Koreans and Chinese I guess are expected but the western regions and LMS I think are really fair. Dlift and Bjergsen are easily the best out of NA and I think anyone one of karsa maple and swordart could have made the list
If one of the criteria is how good a player is going to be at worlds, then why is Bjergsen so high on this list? I love him to death, by far my favorite player in all of league, but he has never shown he can perform at worlds to achieve his own goals at worlds.
How is Bjerg higher on the list than Crown? Bjerg has said himself on stream that Crown was better than him last year and that he is the most difficult midlaner that he had to play against. Dont get me wrong Bjerg is on the top 20 but not above Crown. Now yes Crown got beaten up by Faker and that is why Bdd is ranked higher than him but he is top 3 midlaner in worlds
kon pan it's probably just due to the fact that he struggled so much in summer split while bjerg was just consistent either way dont take the list so seriously as that doesnt mean they wont perform better or worse at worlds
because crown's morale for a player is really bad. he can be very dominant in lane but even just glimpse of him doing misplays and doing really shitty decisions is a show of inconsistency. Look at worlds game 2. skt shoved it down their throats how dominantfaker can get w ryze and he looks slumped after that game. the entire playoff series. Faker started by basically shitting on crown in lane. this made him feel pressurized on his orianna game. like the inconsistency he sows during games when hes down is really a defining factor of why ssg loses
It's because Crown has been performing poorly recently. Sure last year Crown gave Bjerg a hard time, but he also took Faker to game 5. Coming into this Worlds it seems Bjerg has stayed consistent and hasn't faltered why Crown has. That is what their reasoning was.
Crown recently has played really poorly. Recency bias is most likely playing a part because he got dominated by faker, bdd and pawn and even guys like Kuzan came out ahead of him. SSG this year have played around Cuvee and Ruler much more now
This is just ridiculous, Jatt is admitting that Scout has great games and "lose your team the game"games and ranks him 11 while he is saying PerkZ has highs and lows and ranks him 26th!? Let me see Scout play against Faker, the n1 player, like PerkZ did and I'll believe it.
How does NA win Worlds? That won't happen because I'm not wasting my time in Solo Queue for no chance to get onto a team. Same reason why noone tries in NA Solo Queue.
It's cool that this is the first year in awhile(save for 2014 when SKT was garbage) that SKT isn't the favorite to win Worlds and isn't the best team at the tournament. This is the weakest iteration of SKT since their 2013 Worlds team. First time where SKT at Worlds has glaring problems in top lane(Huni extremely inconsistent and if camped auto-loses). With the meta we're in, I believe Untara and Blank should be starting for Worlds with Peanut as the sub and not bringing Huni(yes he was that much of a detriment)
Lmfao 😂 something I can actually back. Being an adc main, I love a great tank on my team. Tanks are definitely important so the Carry's can put out the most damage as possible.
As an assassin main, i would not care about you tank shitters if you couldn't one shot me. You do too much damage. fuck tanks, and you. Have a nice day.
I did, and I dont see how Zven is a better player, thats simply a lie, and its a list of 20 players, going "into" worlds, Right now Rekkles is better, and in my opinion, he is simply a better player. And I bet a lot of people agree with me
NA's path to worlds championships is to cheese two Korean teams out of groups. Then NA only needs to upset for one best of five in the finals. Two best of 5 wins for NA over Korea is much harder
With your logic of Rekless vs Zven being compared to international performances.. there is actually zero justification for Bjergsen to be on number 10, since the only place TSM performed in the last year was Rift Rivals compared to say Perkzz who isn't even on the list and well crushed at MSI and has been consistently performing over the past year. Sorry but the whole "international" performance excuse is kinda weak.
Only way NA would ever win worlds is if people stopped trolling and actually took ranked seriously. So then pros would actually get some competition and not just think to themselves if people are actually using their brains while practicing in ranked.
IM a bit lost as to why Crown is so far down and Bjerg is sooooo far up...I would not put bjerg at top 10 going to worlds...maybe around the 20's but definitely not top 10. I also would like to know where Jensen would be placed on their lists because he had a better summer split than bjerg aside from the awkward slump C9 had in the play offs. To me it feels like they talked so much about how close Jensen and Bjerg were and then they just disregard any form of superiority Jensen had over bjerg...idk those are my 2 cents tho
Bjergsen is a solid, stable mid who is excellent at team fighting and does really well under pressure. (which is why he makes many game winning plays). Jensen is wildly inconsistent and often under performs at crucial moments. Plus, historically, he hasn't done well against Tier 1 opponents. As for crown, i don't know if he should be above Bjergsen, but he's been underwhelming recently.
B Watson there are 4 supports in the top 20. 20 spots / 5 roles = 4 spot for each rol if every rol would get the same amount of spots. This year there are 6 adc's 6 midlaners 4 supports 2 jungle and 2 top
Gotta say it: I love all the LPL knowledge that Fros brings to the discussion. HOWEVER, I hate her as a caster. Listening to her and Papasmithy casting the LPL was awfull, in the way that it always seemed they mocked and undermined smaller teams when they were losing or doing bad calls.
youre right, but im thinking there is really not a big difference between them. Actually we all know how bad Svenskeren ist and Hauntzer isnt that good as he thinks he is. Flame Ssumday and Impact are better than him but he is winning it because he got a godlike midlaner and very strong botlane
sam water - she did before she got hired by Riot. She dyed it pink too. If you look up videos with Thorin where they talked about the LPL back a couple years ago, you can see her with long pink hair.
