Rogan gets alot of shit as being an unserious guy when it comes to politics. But show me anyone on CNN, MSNBC, Fox, ect that has done a more substantive interview about real issues than that. Huge respect to him for doing this.
This feels like the watershed moment for alternative media. Random mma guy joe rogan has a far better interview with a presidential candidate than any mainstream media and reaches vast amounts of people.

Imagine if Joe can get all the major candidates to sit around a table and have a long form discussion while Jamie fact checks any stats or info they need. That would probably be the most important debate they could have.
Yeah. Just get the guys on who acrually matter, and have a round table discussion. Fuck all the losers who cant win, bring on Gravel for the laughs, and than everyone drops acid.
@Leonardo Davinci A'doy. He still stole that line from Yang at the debates a few nights ago. It's 100% correct of course, and I'd still vote for Berndog. I just hope he makes Yang and Gabbard part of his cabinet.
Ali Baba what ? Lol it's the truth and Bernie always tells the truth if anything these new candidates STOLE all his progressive policies and ideas so let's call it even 🤗
Its Bernie saying it because it became popular after yang said it. If it didn't get a good response when yang said it. Bernie would not say it if that were the case lol. That's why yang is getting credit for it. Not because it's an original idea but because he said it and it was received very well and now that it is known to be popular and acceptable we are going to hear it from many people
Revisiting this 2 years later, I think this podcast was the first time I realized some people on the left could actually make sense. I gradually went from a conservative libertarian to basically adopting 80+% of Bernie's policy positions. So glad Joe has him on.
Hasanabi did that for me but good on ya. I’m was so converative for no reason and radicalized by so many dumb cons commentators. The funny thing is Joe went from ima vote for Bernie to full conservative which is sad.
There was more policy in the first 10 minutes of this interview than the entire second debate--both of them. CNN should be embarrassed. They're the ESPN of politics.
It is beautiful to see how many people in the comments are saying they are seeing Bernie Sanders for who he is. I'm so glad you guys are willing to change your view. It's heartening to see people coming around!
Loinnir S please do research on what communism is and then read on Bernie Sanders policies! It’s not communism I promise- I used to make the same argument until I got challenged by a classmate in my college political science class. I’ve been doing my research since and now Bernie is my preferred candidate.
Damnit, I wish the Dems had chose Bernie as their guy. He's on the ball. I like how he remembers specific people he has meet. Proves, to me, he cares about people.
It would be great if they could have more politicians on for these hour sessions more regularly. They talked at the beginning about "sound bites" and "reality tv". This is a real problem, and we'll never be able to get anything done if no one has a chance to hear what people have to say.
supbrotv The real question is are people listening with an open mind. Bernie doesn’t fit the mold of the current leftist party, it will be shocking if he gets to be the candidate
laura s Typical Dems aren’t leftist. They just want you to think they’re leftist. Anywhere else in the world, and in 1980’s America, the Democratic Party would be considered right of center.
I'm European. It's crazy to me that what he says is considered somehow radical or crazy. We have all what he says. Free healthcare, free universities. Dear Americans, health and education are not privileges but rights you should own as human beings
I dont want to pay for rich kids college. I dont want to pay for drop outs college. I dont want to pay for people that smoke and eat fast food everyday. The US is full of people that dont take care of themselves and try their best to cheat the system. I DO NOT want to pay for them. Fuck them. Want healthcare in america? Ban smoking, drinking, IHOP, Fast food and energy drinks. Maybe then I will be onboard.
Exactly! And I am from Poland, 30 years ago we were a communist country!? And of course, we have issues, but healthcare is free, and universities are free, and I am looking at a great everythingisspossible America, and I am stunned😮

Thank you Joe Rogan, for having Bernie on your show. Please have him back. This was an hour and seven minutes well spent. I am a Bernie fan, and will always be. I wish we had more Bernie Sanders in American politics.
I wish the same. But you and I both know that's not going to happen... They will never get the support from corporations, and without it, you can't win anything. And since corporations are growing larger and larger each day, people like Sanders will just simply cease to exist. Just the fact that Hilary was nominated over Bernie tells everything you need to know. It's a fucking reality show for majority of voters. They don't care about politics. They just go for whoever says the most "sexy," or rather outlandish shit, and for the same reason, Hilary lost to Trump despite the majority of major media outlets showing support to Hilary.
Bernie's a trailblazer, you need younger people (as many as possible) to follow his footsteps and blaze further trail, so to speak, until you achieve the good things he speaks of. So educate yourself & your young people to be as noble, knowledgeable, and brave as Bernie is, if not better. Good luck USA.
I dont know, so many Americans are uneducated and just listen to propaganda, the media would have doubled down on the "hes crazy!" narrative. I'm voting for him again in 2020 but idk....
Trump will make him look ridiculous on the debate stage. It's not even close. They talk about the debates being sound bites. You think he's going to go on the stage with the walking sound bite and win that war?
This is the first time I've been able to listen to Bernie Sanders talk about his political platform in depth and I agree with Kyle Kulinski, he said the only thing he didn't like about this interview was, it wasn't long enough. Thank you for this amazing interview Joe Rogan!
Imagine where we'd be right now (2022) if Bernie had won in 2016 and 2020. How different the pandemic response would've been. It'd be a whole different country. Bernie all the way.

Completely agree, now I can confirm that I won't be voting for Bernie. I wish Joe would have all the serious contenders on the show... Hell, even Trump.

@@jacobsmith7292 But he plays ball with them, and supports them even when they screw him over. Its hard to have a revolution when you endorse your enemy.
@@FurEngel He doesn't. Bernie endorsed his so-called "enemy" because - if he didn't support the democratic candidate - it would mean the republican candidate would win by a landslide. Teddy Roosevelt didn't win the election when he split the vote by going independent after losing the republican primaries. Sanders doesn't play ball with corporations or pro-corporate democrats, his political views are quite incompatible with those of corporations. Corporate entities have no reason to back Sanders or to want his endorsement.
All politics aside, it's incredible that this style of interview happened. Hats off to Bernie for coming on the show. It was nice to hear what he actually thinks without talking heads interrupting.
Agreed but Joe should have asked better questions. I felt like this was an hour of what's wrong with the system and why it's wrong. But I'd like to hear Bernie answer "how is 15/h not going to disadvantage small business owners over big corporations that can afford to pay $15/h and/or who have the ability to automate their workforce"
Patrick Long well I like Joe as a person but I don’t agree with his beliefs he doesn’t even believe in a creator and I hope he gets someone on that show who can really debate with him on that topic because he has a lot of followers and the evolution theory it’s a joke but I hope he has someone to debate him on that topic instead of him talking about aliens and evolution because the theory of evolution is all over the place I’ve heard all of it and it doesn’t make any sense they contradict themselves some scientists not all

@@stephenlanham9089 Yang is fantastic and his ideas are very welcome in the race. Unfortunately, he has no chance to win. I hope the Yang Gang will vote for Bernie.
Yang is a libertarian who is totally out of his depth when it comes to foreign policy, healthcare (he is either naive or profoundly dishonest) or global warming. He is dark-money funded to pull younger people away from policies that would make a better world. A below poverty-level UBI rather than a minimum wage increase and guaranteed employment is bread and circuses for the 21st century.
The thing I really like about Bernie is that he talks about actual issues. For him, it's about healthcare, jobs, wages, childcare, etc. I would love to have a President laser-focused on the issues like that.
Wonder if you still like him when you realize he has openly admitted he favored revolutions like the Cuba, Nicaragua and was also crazy for the Soviet Union as well as he once said that is good to line up people to get food just like the Soviet Union. Politically I’m the polar opposite of Bernie and have never been too keen on his views, especially when it comes to socialism; however even though I still disagree with him on many details, this interview gave me a new level of respect for him and I firmly believe his goals and passionate beliefs are genuine. It became obvious to me during this interview that his altruism isn’t just a mask he wears for political manipulation like so many other politicians. I definitely think he would have made a far better president then senile Biden.
He's not trying to instill SOCIALISM as some kind of soviet style autocracy, he's trying to improve some of the social services we're cheated out of as a country. Same with ending the drug war and stopping foreign occupations.
this interview did answer a question i did have about bernies policies, and thats how its all paid for. a tax on every trade that goes through wall street is an interesting idea. especially if its truly less than 1 percent? and honestly i kinda believe it with the amount of money and sheer volume of trades that take place today.
In Europe his political standpoint is called social democracy. The capitalism in the US is just so unleashed and the free market dogma penetrated so deeply in the society's minds that his political position appears to be "socialist" due to the stark contrast. He's still very far from actual socialism.
Gotta interrupt the person you're interviewing enough times to get under their skin so they can say something that makes headlines! If that doesn't work, change the topic enough times until you can find something controversial. I get it, that type of media thrives on quick 15-second clips put into whatever context will get the most views, while Joe's podcast is more successful the longer it goes. I wish we had more of these long-format interviews where you can actually get a better understanding of the person. Especially if that person is going to be the President of the United States.
One of the craziest things about the US is their Healthcare "system". I live in Germany and I've never paid more than 50 Euro for anything including some hospital stays. The fact that a health condition can just ruin your life in a financial way feels so third world to me.
It's fucking criminal the kind of shit that insurance companies and pharma get away with charging, with *no benefit* towards improving the patients health. Is a plastic IV bag in the US that much better that it's priced at 500x what it's priced in Canada? No, they're just allowed to get away with it because why wouldn't they charge the absolute maximum they can get for it? There's no competition, they got patent monopoly's that last for 25 years.
I agree, thank you Joe for making this happen. I was blindly gravitated towards disliking Bernie but after watching this I find myself agreeing with him with MOST of these problems we're facing.
I'm a centrist. All I want is universal healthcare, fair wages, and an intact environment for my descendants. This is a genuinely nice man and I like him.
My guy, you are a leftist. No centrist would advocate for universal healthcare, because they think that healthcare should be up to the people individually
This was genius getting Bernie on! This has changed my whole outlook on his persona! I like where his mind is. I was stubborn on listening to him. I like him. Joe did a wonderful job with this.
Umm you realize just a random group of people have the right to lobby government right? The whole reason this is allowed is to give little people an influence over our politicians. Yes, larger companies also take advantage of it. However, banning lobbying is a horrible idea. Maybe limiting who can participate is a discussion worth having though. Also, you cannot "openly" bribe an elected official, it is done more crafty than that.
You better become an anarchist than. "Lobbying" is inevitable under capitslism, there is no solution that can keep money out of politics. It is a systemic failure in capitalism that makes in incompatible with democracy.
@BallTastic Screecher sorry, but Trump's lobbying ban was all smoke and mirrors. 6 former admin officials are already back to federal lobbying. www.propublica.org/article/trump-appointees-pledged-not-to-lobby-after-they-leave-now-lobbying Trump also weakened Obama era lobbying rules about publicly disclosing waivers to the rules, which is how he managed to appoint 137 lobbyists to government positions newrepublic.com/article/152724/lobbyists-feasting-trumps-swamp-epa-interior Almost every Trump "reform" is designed with a backdoor for his corporate swamp buddies. Like Bernie said, *"they write the rules!"*
I could listen to this man for hours upon hours. He’s the real deal folks. He’s believed these ideas all his 40+ years involved in politics. He’s never wavered in his stance. What more do you need to convince you to vote for this man? Amazing individual...
I revere him for his ideological consistency too and he is a good honest man from a person PoV but simply owing to that one shouldn't agree with his economically debilitating policies. But I do agree that at least he is a much better man than the two faced cunt of a pathological liar that Elizabeth Warren is.
As a minority conservative American, I just can't help but respect what this man has mostly said during this hour podcast. Just comparing the gibberish Mr. Biden had said for over the past decade compared to the coherent speech of this man. Night and day.
Your not wrong at all. Biden is senile. I've gotten alot of fans and people cheering for me since Biden took office and that's about the best thing he's done for me personally lmao.
Regardless of your stance on politics, it’s NEVER a bad idea to hear out every candidate. It’s especially good to see Bernie on such neutral ground and given a chance to speak. I’m an independent, and this interview gave me a certain respect for Sanders. He’s a well spoken guy for sure.
Christopher Costantini Agreed. Echo chambers are terrible things. Most people generally agree on what problems to solve, but not so much on how to solve it. As much as I prefer right wing policy, I’ve come to understand the importance of having some left wing policy in running a country as a whole. I certainly think that compromise on the right things/ideas would lead this country to greater heights.
Can't thank Joe Rogan enough for providing a forum beyond what MSM provides. Most people recognize the truth and reasonableness when they hear it. Thank you Bernie Sanders!
@Bryzz Lull ok... what does that have to do with anything? So every leader in history who people said cared about their people ended up being a Lenin or Castro? You are a truly pathetic man
@Bryzz Lull And what people said about Trump. Not everyone agreed though. And those who thought so, many atleast, figured out he wasnt genuine or cared about the American people. Something America will wake up to when the tax cut backfires on the middle class in 2023. And when the reality of the debt and deficit hits the American economy. Trumps economy is as fake as his tan, wife, his hair and his teeth.
my favorite part of this interview is that for most of his points, Bernie had a real human story to connect it to. “you know I was talking to a guy the other day, I’ll never forget...” he is so genuine it hurts. THIS is what it’s like when a politician truly cares about the American people. you can just feel it. this is why he will be the nominee. you can’t fake that.
Bernie inspired me to start caring about politics. Hes fought for these things for decades, uphill against the tide of public opinion throughout the years, & even at this age, is still giving 110% for people's wellbeing. He started changing this country's public opinion in huge ways in a short amount of time (since 2016), & I too believe he cares about not just the people he wants to represent, but the world.
Here is the actual trough republicans and democrats basically want the same thing (there are exceptions of course guns for example )but in large parts they have the same goals but both cnn and Fox don’t want u to realize it and keep fighting each other so there corporate daddy’s can do what ever they want while the American people are in a screaming match
It’s true the American left became so corporate Even right wingers, well those with integrity, respect Bernie because he has integrity and is honest This is probably because he’s the only senator who grew up poor He grew up as an immigrant in Brooklyn This makes him automatically more honest than the corporate senate
@Jay P hahaha this is absolutely ridiculous. Trump did absolutely nothing of importance before he was elected president other than being a failed business man/ trust fund kiddie and reality TV star. Not only are his failings well documented (Trump University, Trump Airlines, Trump Casinos, etc.), but he was extremely racist (www.nytimes.com/2016/08/28/us/politics/donald-trump-housing-race.html). Bernie was apart of the civil rights movement and fought for years (www.motherjones.com/politics/2016/02/bernie-sanders-core-university-chicago/), and as for his "nothing of importance" accomplishments, well this list begs to differ (occasionalplanet.org/2016/03/04/a-list-of-bernie-sanders-accomplishments/). Please educate yourself before you make an ignominious claim about something you know nothing about. Turn off Fox, read a book, and actually know what communism is before you call someone a commie. @@ARandomAnna My point is that very few people say "Oh my gosh, Trump seems to believe what he says, I'm literally going to vote for him on the basis of his belief as opposed to the policies themselves!" I'm a bit skeptical about some of his plans, but it's plain that he's a person with genuine concern and empathy for people. When he speaks, he is not playing a character for the camera. That alone is enough to elevate him above most of the other candidates.
We have been brainwashed into thinking nothing can be done for us common folk, because we've spent a large portion of our budget on wars, military, and tax cuts for corporations and wealthy. after an entire generation of that, of course anyone would be skeptical in thinking how can things be done when it's been evident it hasn't. Bernie is right. These are NOT "radical" ideas. Bernie wants to accomplish and finish what FDR started 75 years ago just before he died. MLK also called on our government to do the same just before he was assassinated. A Second Bill of Rights, which was also called the Economic Bill of Rights: On January 11, 1944 in his original address to the nation, FDR stated: "In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all-regardless of station, race, or creed. Among these are: 1. A job 2. An adequate wage and decent living 3. A decent home 4. Medical care 5. Economic protection during sickness, accident, old age, or unemployment 6. A good education All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being. America's own rightful place in the world depends in large part upon how fully these and similar rights have been carried into practice for all our citizens. For unless there is security here at home there cannot be lasting peace in the world." ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt
That guy was a fucking socialist. Notice how they didnt safeguard social security so that the government couldnt take YOUR money and spend it on wars and bullshit. Now social security is dry. There is no money. And we are what 23 trillion in debt. And you propose to make it a right that I get a job. So some business HAS to hire me. What the fuck man? Every year thousands of people flock to hollywood to try to make it there in a competitive field. Most fail. In your system there would have to be some quota of allowable people who could be actors as you couldnt gaurentee as many jobs as people who wanted to do that job. Imagine going to college with aspirations of being a tv reporter and being told no, we are oversaturated for the next 10 years. You can be the janitor tho.
This is a free country and you have the choice to go out and do those things. The government should not be responsible for lazy unmotivated people. The government should not be stealing from the rich to pay for poor peoples drugs fast food etc
@@isaacs4050 you didn't watch the interview. Most of the job loss over the last 25 years is due to automation and corporations selling our job overseas after they paid politicians to let them.
@whats really going on #reality You want to support Trump. A #CorporateSocialist who already GIVES the rich and powerful, free things. You are making an idiot of yourself, son. Trying to troll.
Vote for progressives on the down ticket also....for senate, congress, mayor, Governor, city council, AG etc. Bernie will need a progressive congress to realize these progressive agendas. Check out @flipthesenate and @justicedemocrats on twitter for info on progressive candidates that don't take PAC money .
What I would recommend to everyone, is to stop watching cable news. Just dump it. If everyone stopped, they would have to develop a new business model that might include being more honest the the American people.
John Moffett Been saying this for years, regardless of party affiliation etc etc, big media is the problem, shows like Joes and people like him let you actually understand people and actually hear them unlike the bs 60 second shouting matches you get on CNN/FOX.
It's absolutely insanity that most americans don't see what this man is saying as common sense. People from all other developed countries would see it as a dystopia to live with all these MASSIVE issues that are seen in america.
@@qwertyzxcvbn3174 I have to ask you, how does it feel to simply LIE like that? Are you really okay with such blatant, filthy lies? When CNN hates Bernie more than they hate Trump? Don't you feel bad about yourself?
@@82seno no, they just support practically everything bernie does, and in the most pc state worshipping way as possible. One day you idiots will actually discover wikileaks.
@@JoshuaKevinPerry they let him talk and think they will stifle him with "gotcha" questions about the 1950s notions on communism, when he's not there, they smear him in the most anti intellectual way, mentioning Venezuela and the soviet union, the neolib establishment are more invested in destroying sanders since he's threatening their power in that party, the Con establishment are counting on the former to screw him again and hopefully run a crappy centrist that essentially agrees with republicans economically
I never watch JRE but in the last couple weeks he’s had Bernie and Cornell West on. Way to be relevant Joe!! I guess I can’t say I never watch the show now. Keep it up the good work and thanks for giving Bernie such a fair shake. You would NOT see that on the networks.
Yes, but his answering is dumb. One example is....How is weed and alcohol different than any other drug? Answer is clear. None. Bernie accidentally said it....by despair? Or other words.. choice!!!!! Gang control the choice. Elimination of gangs is a removal of their monopoly.
