To your last request for input on how much you min-max your build to how often you put out your videos I would say to optimize to the point of effectiveness for demonstration purposes so you can put out more build videos. I love your ideas. We think alike in our creativeness 😊Keep up the good work!

Great video! Please put out more content more often. Showing the not min/maxed builds makes it for us casuals much more achievable to get those builds worming.

Thanks for the build was running something similiar but with a predator set. DIdn't do me too well, except in the bleed department. If i ever manage to stay alive in the dz for longer than 5 minutes, I might join in a non-toxic hunt. Always nice to see new builds.

I've been running this build since 1.4 dropped and it's the most fun I've had in the game so far. I'm glad you're highlighting it Marco, but this could very well change the entire meta! Not a bad thing, just something that may happen.

Marco, your the man! I myself have been working on my old sentry build to a tank shield build for a couple of days now. Just looking for a couple of gear pieces to complete.

Definitely like this approach of optimised builds that work rather than fully min/maxed versions.

Once again, MarcoStyle, you come through in real time with a video that makes you think outside the box. Making builds outside your comfort zone is always hard, but I must say, that if it wasn't for guys like you, SkillUp, UEG, BuzzLightBeer & Arekktz, I would never have considered other build. I am pretty much stuck on my damage dealer specs with my Assault Rifle & SMG (both running Destructive) with 4pc Striker's Battlegear with armor damage, ProElite & DamElites. BUT, seeing this build, and some of your other brainstorms, always makes me try something new so I'll give this one a go, as I know this build works as I got jacked in the DZ on an extraction by a solo guy running this with a seeker mine cluster build. It was one of those situations where I thanked God for letting me get outta there with my life as I was not gonna win that battle and neither was he, for that matter but I guess that was the point. In that stalemate, he knew that I could not withstand the constant seeker mines and still get around him to get by his armor, so I had to abandon my cut loot and run, as I could not hit him with my LVOA-C from long range, so I can tell you from experience that this build works. AND, now it makes sense why he was hitting me so quickly. I did not realize the X-45 had such a high rate of fire and so I thought he somehow glitched using an SMG with his BallShield!! And since I was running Pulse and Booster Shot, I had no real way of dealing with him short of grenades, which he avoided easily and recovered from, so he was likely running some sort of combo with FinalMeasure. Anyhow, great build & thank you!!

I just wanted to swing by and say I truly love this build. I enjoyed the shield in the early game but had not seen many builds using them in the DZ or late game PvE so when I saw this setup I was ecstatic. Been modifying it to fit my play style and may change the pistol used, but overall, amazing build and a hell of a good time. BE MARKED I SAY! Caution to to those who bring this build into 3 Phase Underground missions as you will test your index finger like never before. Pretty sure my index has a six pack now.

i had this exact build with either vigorous vest or the backpack since PTS. I love shield i tried it from start but it was unplayable - good to see that my build matches yours, so i did something right lol.

Marco great build guide keep it up! One thing is, I think it is important to show what the build should strive towards with min/max because yeah people complain because they dont have the time to do that but I think showing the direction people should head when it comes to min/maxing is good because some people may not know what would be good to better the build and push it further.

I'm so happy that you're using my exact build. And I pretty much mean exact too: same gear pieces, same pistol, even same approximate stat distribution. My FWX-45 has competent and coolheaded though. Perhaps I should be trying to find a toxic/harmful one instead.

Hey Marco, i finally get everythings for this build and i tested it (in pve for the moment), it just awesome ! I took Centurion as pistol, there are 3 talents (expert, intense, and one you can roll, providence, so i took harmful) Thank Dude for this build !

Awesome was after a great video about the sheild build was about to make a build but now i see i had most things wrong had been saving my mods with shield HP on then did not know the other one was so much better cheers for the info dude great video

Great video Marco, thanks for mentioning the kinetic shield. I think that it is the better choice if you have to solo in the DZ it gives you a better chance to escape.

I think you highlighted the importance of a 4pc final measure, it's not fancy dps but it is one of the best support options out there. It works for me every engagement. It also lends to a healer using the recharge station because it negates a good amount of cc especially while in cover situations.

Fantastic build, I love how you came up with it and made the decision to be versatile. I on the other hand use firecrest for more cc but also to deal major damage to people who run behind me or get to close. Also allows me to be a bit reckless lol. Keep up the good work man and ignore the haters.

Thanks a lot, Marco. I have tried the same build yesterday, but for PVE - I just do not have team for PVP =) It is the most safe build for PVE farming with output damage equal for other DPS builds.

THIS TECHNIQUE BROUGHT ME BACK TO THE DIVISION!!! I was getting bored with Destiny and wanted to check the Divisikn out agai after 8 month hiatus.. started watching videos a d amd came across this, what I call my BALLISTIC ATTACK TANK ;-) LOVE IT!!! I'm still getti g used to it myself.. but I use Intense on the pistol a d run a 4 piece Predator's mark set, make'm BLEED and make'm BURN at the same time .. and I throw in my HOT ROCKS or Seeker Mines to the layperson and that is a great start and defence whilst utilizing the BALLISTIC ATTACK ShIELD!!!! ;-) I've started making videos on utube posting fun DZ experimental gameplay w the shield..

it's definitely going to take a lot of grinding to get a good roll on armor & weapons. Even with all the loots in 1.4, I like the fact that you gotta grinding to get the proper stuff.

I've been looking for new builds since the changes, because pulse and smart cover are no longer their former glory. I was going to go with a 4 set and 2 yellow pieces or maybe even try a whole yellow set and see how it compares. I enjoyed the Alpha Bridge set in the previous patch, but i feel at a disadvantage now for running the same gun and ammo pool and relying on two guns of the same type. I still think my M1A with coolheaded is ideal considering cooldowns now wait for skills to be completely used. Thanks for the good ideas so far, look forward to more.

I've been running the exact same setup since 1.4 dropped on the ps4. I use predatory on my pistol though. Constant healing to my shield. didn't even think of the harmful setup. I may give that a try. Since the shield is fixed I'll drop in cover sometimes with my assault rifle with cd reduction talents, almost instantly reset the cd on my heal, pop back out with the shield and heal again. It's been working pretty well.

I had a lot of fun with the Ballistic shield before the bug. I think it was before the 1.2 patch. Looking forward to play that style again. My old build was more HE gear at that time. So using Gear Sets will be so much more interesting.

Great video! Was curious, maybe I missed it but which ballistic shield are you using? I have used a similar build using their predators mark, lower firearms, higher stamina, and about 122k skill power. With that in mind I use the ballistic shield that increases damage on your sidearm while also increasing accuracy, knock back, reload speed among others. Did you also try this build with assault shield. It is roughly half the toughness of the pulse shield but for me that is still 500k+. I will try to build something similar to what you should because I have found that dps wise I'm not able to tank as easily

@MarcoStyle i use this build to and i love it, but try rolling coolheaded on your sidearm. its perfect because you'll always have your healing available. My opinion the Centurion pistol is the best sidearm, because of the base dmg is really high. My base dmg is 19.1k

so glad they fixed the shield, so many ways to play now in 1.4

Hey bud, I know you like the bleed talent on you pistol, but if you were to have coolheaded on it you would be able to use booster shot every 4-5 seconds thus giving you that additional 20% damage buff and being able to heal the shield even more effectively than your Health Box. I usually use the Centurian Pistol because it has the 3rd talent slot which i keep as Provident which gives an additional 60% damage with the last round of the clip. The damage is just insane and in pvp 7 bullets can kill a player.

Hey Marco, will you be doing a gold set video only on what build you'll be running with it? It's pretty fun running with it without the need on jumping on gear sets as a requirement.

So what would be better for a shield tank build? Sentries with a X-45 or D3-FNC with a PP-19?

Love this build I'll definitely be trying the shield build but Would it not be better with 3 piece hunters faith for the 20% headshot damage then use a vigorous chest piece to complement your backpack? I could be wrong but maybe you would be more powerful and more tanky with that rather than the sentrys? Please prove me wrong/right. I'm not theory crafter but to me it looks at 1st glance like hunters faith 3 is better than sentrys 4.

Marco tip with the shield if you face the shield towards a Grenade you block the damage same as flamers

Use a pistol with cool headed, and if possible a Sniper rifle with cool headed as well. Then run the pulse shield, add the precision talent. Then use a flame turret with wildfire. Combine that with 4pc firecrest to buff up turret. Then 2 piece tact for the 10% skill haste. This is excellent for crowd control and pinning enemies down allowing team mates to mow down enemies for you while also keeping your turret and shield with close to no downtime. This is what I use with shield but to each their own.
