The DM Shortage

My video here was done several months ago but I'm only now releasing it due to various reasons. Anyway, I've outlined several reasons why it may seem like there is a DM problem with D&D 5E, but with that being said, I missed the fact that there is a ton of people advertising as (quote/unquote) as paid DM's. I feel the concept as being a paid DM is scummy, but I'm old school too. We didn't pay or get paid to DM, it was about sharing a hobby that you like with others that like the same hobby and making friends. Anyway, I hope you at least enjoyed the video and thank you for watching.

I have seen a lot of people advertising as paid DM's. It kind of bothers me but maybe its because I'm old school. In my days, people didn't pay someone to DM, we just played because we enjoyed the hobby.

True, but back in the day they had all kinds of unpaid labor. unfortunately, as a 30-something-year-old I have to monetize every hobbie I have to survive. @@MightyBjorn

I'd bet the OGL issue didn't really have the affect on D&D that people want to believe it has. Sure it had an affect but it was very minor in the grand scheme of things.
