it's really funny considering my exam board chose this show, and this episode in particular as one of our close study projects so we actually watched it in class. the media teacher didn't laugh.
@@r0bw00d no using the word an is used before word or letter that begins with a vowel like sound. Like with sibilance you can say sorry sam but you can’t say super shop because even though they begin with the same letter they have to begin with the same sound
I'm going to be a bit mean here: He saved this episode. Capaldi owned the scene like nothing. Sadly, he wasn't there for the rest of the show and it went downhill. Class wasn't bad it was just... I dunno, not great
@@Surfboarder4 I know what you mean. I don't mind the BF stuff now, but, it took me a while to get used to it. I doubt I would have if a friend hadn't loaned me his Tom Baker Big Finish Dr Who stuff!! There are quite a lot of the BF stories that are better written than the TV show IMO.
But, at the same time, I don't like how The Doctor sees slavery as an acceptable punishment. That's not, and should *never* be an acceptable punishment.
@@DoctorWhoKage what are you talking about? The doctor wrapped a man in unbreakable chains, trapped his daughter in a mirror forever, froze his son I ntime and turned him into a scarecrow then pushed the mother into some space thing I forgot the name of 💀 I'm pretty sure this is kind compared to those times, he can't actually force her to do anything she doesn't want to, she's a slave in name only.
@@r0bw00d It took me a few moments to check (and check I did), but you're right. Tell me, did you check your own post as carefully as I just checked mine before clicking on the reply button?
Nerd trivia: this is the ONLY appearance of the Twelfth Doctor where he wears his navy coat from series 8/9 with the TM Lewin waistcoat - all other times this waistcoat is only ever worn with the burgundy velvet (Face the Raven, Heaven Sent etc) or the black velvet (The Return of Doctor Mysterio). I suspect had it occurred to the costume department to put Capaldi in this waistcoat right from the start, they never would've bothered with the cardigan we saw at the end of Deep Breath and in Into The Dalek - especially considering we literally never saw it again after that. I think he looks excellent. Capaldi's Doctor's costumes are my favourite by far. They just look so perfect on him! (SUPER nerd trivia: I even have 1:1 tailor made replicas of the navy velvet and the linen coat made from the original fabrics, lining and even the original buttons)
Firstly, it was so out of character for the Doctor to leave kids in charge and be accompanied by a criminal. Secondly, "why would you be safer somewhere else, time has looked at your faces" - that just seems like a random smart sounding line to explain the nonsense of leaving them there instead of taking them somewhere else. Of course they'd be safer elsewhere where there is no tear in the reality. And if this indeed was true, then why no one else from the school, why just this lot? Thirdly, it really doesn't make you excited for other stories with these characters when they seem like they'd just rather go home and be done with it and the only one excited for it is the character who you can be sure will never come back.
its a show about normal people becoming the doctor, time looks on your face so shit happens, just look at al the horrible shit that happens to former companions. hes right
A proper, more realistic(but unlikely scenario) notion would be a show with solid writing, staffing and responsible production from all crew and creators of the main property to give you guys something a good lot of people will enjoy and re-watch for years to come(not to say this is poor, in any fashion).
Many. Most of these remembrance boards are dedicated to the students and staff who died in WW1 and WW2. Susan's name is near the end of the list, while Clara and Danny are at the end, meaning most of the deaths were not between 1963 and 2016. Obviously we know some of the dead are the result of alien intervention (such as the other cameo names), but most are still the result of the World Wars (and less than my school had)
We need to convince movie and tv show producers that our outside of DWU to give The Doctor a cameo, something that will be canon since The Doctor goes through all of time and space
This show could probably have worked if they had gone for the Buffy the Vampire slayer theme, which they clearly were ripping off. Alas they did what they did with Torchwood, and sprinkled F bombs and adult themes in, edge lord interpersonal drama, and put it on late in the evening when whatever audience it otherwise would have got wouldn't see it.
Yes If you want to see more twelve he's in episode 1 you can also watch 10 and 11 in Sarah Jane adventures which is a great show on it's own unlike this
I'm surprised the producers got this so wrong. It should have been a reluctant teacher helping the previously seen Courtney and a few more interesting and less bland students.
CLASS would've worked if it were just the kids from Sarah Jane without Sarah Jane. It could've been about their lives after the passing of Sarah Jane, and that they've taken up the mantle.
The BBC barely did any advertising for Class. Then they cancelled it after a single series. Someone high up wanted to kill it before it ever got off the group. Obviously a Dalek.
This premise is dumb. Say what you want about Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures, but at least those shows had a lead character (Captain Jack Harkness and Sarah Jane Smith) that had experience dealing with alien threats. These are teenagers who have no experience and no desire to battle the alien threats of the universe being lead by a criminal, who just told The Doctor she is not only disgusted by them but also can't use weapons. Great idea there, Doc. No wonder this only lasted one TV season. Here's a good idea, why don't you call one of your still alive, Earth bound allies like Ace or Kate Lethbridge-Stewart to help out with this. Or call Ian Chesterton, who we know is canonically still alive at this point, is the chairman of the school, and has experience dealing with alien threats. If I made any errors, feel free to point them out to me. This is just me venting out my frustrations about this show.
From what I recall, the series ratings took a nosedive after the plot twist that the lead male was gay and his bully would become lovers. People were suddenly “oh no, not more bbc pc gender equality bollocks”.
@@JamesMondasian yes he can, in the Zygon invasion 12 cringed when Osgood said that bowties are cool because he doesn't find them cool. 2 played on a recorder and 5 tried the recorder and didn't like it. The Doctor does change his tastes in a new regeneration.
If they do come up with a spin off of rose and the medical crisis doctor which I wouldn't mind seeing it better not suck what class did which was another spin-off of Doctor Who I don't want that to end up being the downfall of the BBC brand and the Doctor Who franchise they had some fairly good episodes but this one was not one of them seriously this bombed 💣 ️ coughing emoji🛰🚁⚰🔧 his Sonic Screwdriver isn't working that's how bad that was
I actually feel bad for Peter Capaldi because he actually had to be in this monstrosity okay spinoff Doctor Who did obviously bombed I'm going to just like Doctor Who didn't you can regenerate properly you just got saddled with a bunch of alien teenagers it look like human beings which is obviously a dead giveaway frog snot let's watch Doctor Who since 2005 so I know PS when I see it in this is BS how come they have made the series
I always loved this scene right until the end when they just crap on all the students studying media. Likely hood is they are studying that because they were inspired by the show or wanted to go into television or film production. What an absolute slap to the face of fans
