I love the doctor's "go on, keep talking" gesture when first discovered.

“That man walked in here, with a big blue box and three of his friends.” I just love the way he delivers that line.

"what the hell is that?!" "it's a police box, can't you read?" i lost it at that point

No SWAT team, no pot of coffee, no Jammie Dodgers, no fez, just the street level maps of Florida. I love how CED III quickly figures out exactly what The Doctor really needed and what was nonsense.

"You think you can shoot me?" " *THEY'RE AMERICANS!* " That killed me.

Laughed way too hard when the Doctor said "Oh look this is the Oval Office...I was looking for the Oblong Room"

i just love how his whole demeanor changed when she shouted *"THEY'RE AMERICANS"*

He looks so childishly excited when he says "a Fez". It's just splendid.

"Do you really think you're going to shoot me?" "THEY'RE AMERICANS!!!" "OH MY GOD PLEASE DON'T SHOOT"

"WHAT IS THAT BOX???"..."It's a police box, can't you read?" I love it when the Doctor uses obvious answers to obvious questions. So witty.

"and a fez" should be on the end of any list of requirements. 😁

This is why I loved Steven Moffat's writing, and why I miss it.

I love that. He out bluffs Daleks all the time telling them to shoot him, but when he finds out they're Americans with guns his hands shoot up in the air

Didn't realise when i watched this the first time, but the 'Mrs Robinson' thing is probably because it means an 'older woman pursuing a younger man' from the movie "The Graduate". Goddamn this Doctor was cheekier than I thought

The Doctor: "Fellas, the guns? Really? I just walked into the highest security office in the United States, parked a big blue box on the rug. You think you can just shoot me?" Dr. Song: "They're Americans!" *Doctor jumps up with hands in the air* So funny.

I dunno why but i love the line "river make her blue again"

Any other script-writer would have written, “River! Uncloak the TARDIS!”. But Moffatt writes, “River! Make her blue again!” ... Just wonderfully perfect. I love Moffatt’s dialogue. He never wastes a word. So much fun... And “Mrs Robinson” echoing back to “Hello, Benjamin” in “Let’s Kill Hitler” (in case you’re too young to remember “The Graduate”.) The Doctor must have looked it up in the meantime, as he didn’t get her seductive reference in Berlin.

I LOVE how effortlessly the Doctor and River play off of each other in this scene. The Doctor doesn’t think the scanner will work while the TARDIS is invisible, but at the same time knows that River undoubtedly would get it to, so much so that he plans around his assumption that she’ll pull a River and get it working while he’s out. Then knows her reactions so well he even has the perfectly timed response of “No you don’t” without even being able to hear her classic “I hate you.” Brilliant. Moffat’s so good with the clever, quick, quippy dialogue and intricate yet fast-paced and smoothly flowing scenes, all while so deeply understanding the characters.

I love how The Doctor is taking notes and it takes him a minute to realize that they’re staring at him and he tells them to continue

The part in the scene where the Doctor puts his hands up really shows his desire to de-escalate the situation as soon as the others are in danger. He's confident when he's the only one in danger, but that confidence disappears when River leaves the safety of the TARDIS.

When the TARDIS appears, you can almost hear the old girl say, "Now that you can see me, I STRONGLY suggest you get off my Doctor......Now."

Love this exchange: Canton: I say we give him five minutes see if he delivers. Doctor: Thanks Canton Canton: If he doesn't, I'll shoot him myself.. Doctor: Not so thanks

Love Canton's responses here. It's clear he already knows the direction the investigation needs to go before the Doctor enters. He doesn't waste time asking the Doctor about the phone call, and knows immediately which of the Doctor's requests is most relevant. He gives him the five minutes because he's already looking much further ahead than that one answer.

Mark Sheppard is a treasure. Why don't we celebrate his birthday like we celebrate all the others.

You have to admire and give full credit to the set and prop builders for this scene! Building a full size replica of the Oval Office and furnished exactly how it was in Nixon’s day down to having the paintings, flowers even photographs of exactly how he had the room furnished, just stunning craft and workmanship on this one set with the small budget the BBC gave them for this episode! And the Doctor makes me laugh in this scene at the beginning when he’s writing down everything that’s being said nods his head in agreement when Nixon says about not knowing if it actually something to do with the FBI because of Nixon’s shady dealings regarding watergate and when they turn and notice him the Doctor just waves his hand at the pair of them as if to say “don’t mind me, just carry on!” While still writing for a few seconds more before it registered they’re watching him! 💙🤣🤣🤣🤣

Matt Smith was simply awesome! For such a young actor he has amazing presence!

This two parter was the best modern Doctor Who story to ever air.

I think that every actor in that Oval Office is British, some doing their best American accents.
