What a fucking great band. I saw The Ramones once, and The Donnas three times. The Donnas blew The Ramones off the stage, in every way, shape, and form. The Donnas live were one of the best rock and roll bands I've ever seen. Fucking awesome. I miss them so much.
man..it's so good to see someone keeping rock n roll alive..even though they probably aren't anymore (with the drummer's elbow problem. They had a perfect chemistry..hope someone comes along soon on par ,...that plays real rock n roll..cause ..no one has ..since these guys..what happened to america?
I can understand the extra guitar argument - from someone who has never seen the band live! I've seen the Stones, Zepplin, Queen, and a few hundred more bands live - The Donnas are one of my top three favorite live bands ever. If you ever get a chance to see them, don't hesitate! ! !
Ahhhh how I miss them.. They seem like most of them stopped playing music for law school etc. Good luck with your new fields though. Your music will live forever.
Heaps. KILLER usually band but what the hell happened.....Started like a rocket and then slowed and almost stalled? Don't know why...heat? Last song? drunk? poor mix who knows.
This band really does rock. I hate to say it though....if the vocals were stronger, they would be a POWER band, because the music is on that level but the slightly weak vocals bring it down to an 'awesome band', rather than being a 'fuckin' awesome!' band. I love 'em, its just a slight shame.
I try very hard to tame the emotion over chicks thrashing on drums and guitars. It's sort of like driving a Ferrari and squelching the urge to punch it and go 210 on a residential street.
The whole band except the singer has lots of energy in their playing. To me the singer sounds weak and she sounds like some high school chick in a garage band. I think the Donnas need a better singer that match the other band members energy and skill
