Not really. In the actual game the doomguy seems way more serious with the only signs of insanity is his evil smile when he gets a new gun. Here he is genuinely batshit Insain, while he was sain enough for him to survived hell 6 times in a row, and stay in hell...granted he went to hell for revenge for his bunny...yeah he's nuts

He still has all that rage inside and in the storysnin eternal its clear they never tamed him as he never took their help for his wounds and was always the first to fight. He just absorbed his rage into being mute. If they tamed him he wouldnt have killed the final priest cause he was in the arena, but he didnt care as he didnt care about them either, his mind was on humanity. Even hugo himself has said the slayer is seeing things like daisy in every level (yes she is still dead and him seeing her is cause his mind is basically gone) even 2016 says he is more or less just a murder machine that doesnt think much beyond brute force to solve issues. They never tamed him.

I have read many crappy and stupid comics in my life but the Doom comic is definitely among the worst. That doesn't stop it from being super manly and hilarious at the same time. It must have been hard for you to read this without laughing.

The weirdest thing about this comic is that it's actualy a love story. Doomguy dates a lot of guns and while they all have their charms he finaly finds true love with the BFG. Whatever the writers were smoking when they wrote this I want some.

A few dozen copies were passed out by Id as a joke at a software developers' trade expo back in like 1994. It was a sort-of parody of The Punisher and Watchmen, which were really popular at the time.

With all the Berserk injections he's used...well, from the manual, the Berserk powerup is basically an artificially-induced adrenaline rush. And in Doom 2016, it is described in a way where it gives a normal human being the power to disembowel someone with a pen knife.
