THE DOORS & JIM MORRISON Venice Hangouts & Where THE DOORS All STARTED! 

My friend who is in his 80's was a bartender in a Venice bar and the owner let The Doors practice in his bar after hours, he saw many other famous musicians come and jam with them, for one Janice Joplin. He says he didn't know who they were until later.

14 Westminster Ave is where the apartment building is where Jim lived with Dennis Jacobs and would hang out on the roof. Not the orange building with the mural.

I have been a die hard fan of the doors since the 90's and I grew up with the doors just like my late dad and I still listen to the doors just like my late dad did in his hey day

Jordan great video the great Doors band they had touched so many people through out history.The year I was born they appeared on the Clay Cole show, break on through they performed on the tv show.Don’t forget they were great performers a true rock band. I’m a Doors fan and my favorite number one song of them all my life has been Light My Fire..the long version. The next song of theirs that I absolutely love next is Riders on the Storm which captured my mother’s attention as well with his sexy haunting voice which I absolutely love. I grew up listening to the Doors and One of my uncles literally had everything the doors from the poster of Jim Morrison to like a glass to like a glass sketch of the of the doors and my uncle's like friend or something like that sat there and made it for him it was crazy like I grew up listening to the records I grew up like with the CDs and tape cassettes cuz that's how my like family was when it came to the doors and like the rolling Stones and like older bands like that including led Zeppelin

Excellent Vlog about Jim, and the Doors! My cousin Lon, had some personal interactions with Jim, from the Venice area. My cousin tells the story where they were both interested in the same girl, and Jim escorted the girl, with him out of the bar, seemingly recognizing some potential male competition for the same gal.

I wonder if Arnold and Jim ever crossed paths? They were both in Venice Beach in the same timeframe of late ‘60s early ‘70s. I assume it was a smaller community then too.

Yes for sure the movie Cisco Pike does have a interior scene of Olivias, and the movie originally was written for Jim Morrison to star in, but he turned it down and then Kris Kristofferson took the part, filmed in 1971. There are a lot of other places around the LA area with Doors connections, Clyde Beck has a lot of interesting youtube videos on the subject.

Just went to the tail of the pup/Lucky Tiki on santa Monica blvd.. They have a drink called the ghost of Jim Morrison with a flaming bush 😂. That place used to be a recording studio for the doors. Fun facts.

Unpopular opinion (and I’m not trying to be a troll or anything, I still liked watching the video and appreciate the historical value), but The Doors were awful. So hard on the ears, I can’t hardly stand to make it through a whole Doors song.
