One of my favourite Doors songs. I made it using some footage between 1967- 1970 and scenes of the Oliver Stone movie. If you liked, see also "Whiskey, Mystics and Men": • The Doors - Whiskey, M... Thanks for the comments!
What's most amazing with TheDoors is that the band lasted for a relatively short period of time (5-6 years) and yet until today its considered one of the most legendary rock bands in history. This is an example why making a few but quality songs is more important than making 20,000 songs that are s***t!
Every few years I revisit the Doors. It's good to give them a little room so they sound fresh on each re-listening.... I think it's about time again...
I think I do it every few months For me it’s good road trip music. If I’ve been out on my bike cycling a couple of miles I often listen to the Doors, or stick them on when I get home.
" This is the strangest life I've ever known.... " Hell yeah, that's SO true, 'cause I'm weird AF, - now how about you ? Btw. I can sing along with Jim singing his songs - and because I know them, _all_ of them, every note & every part of the (awesome) lyrics, my voice is exactly "in phase" with Jim's beautiful, haunting, voice.. Though it often makes my cry a little, well, almost.. My very dear friend Jim, "Requiescat In Pace" - Hope in the "other world" you'll find true happiness & real Peace of Mind - that wasn't yours in this world, I know..
LYRICS: At first flash of Eden We race down to the sea Standing there on freedom's shore Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Can you feel it Now that spring has come And it's time to live in the Scattered sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Waiting Waiting Waiting Waiting Waiting Waiting Waiting Waiting Waiting for you to Come along Waiting for you to Hear my song Waiting for you to Come along Waiting for you to tell me what went wrong This is the strangest Life I've ever Known... YEAH !! WATCH OF IT!!! Can't you feel it Now that spring has come That it's Time to live in the Scattered sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Waiting For The Sun
A Latin style drummer a classically trained Keyboard player I want to play basements and a great improvise around guitand of course Jim's amazing Auto vocals
Yes, they definitely were, especially Jim with his philosophical mind & everything else about him! What never seems to astonish me is that he had everything that a woman would want, except his little unknowns, never knowing what too expect from him. I guess you can call that his moodiness of unpleasant moments, but who doesn't have those moments, seriously?🌹😘🌅 I wish I had met him too speak to him deeply about life & his way of seeing things as I do.
I love Jim's face at 1:21. No band has released an album that I enjoy more than my least favorite Doors album. "Music is your only friend until the end." Love ya, Jim.
At first flash of Eden We race down to the sea Standing there on freedom's shore Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Can you feel it Now that Spring has come That it's time to live in the scattered sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun. Waiting for the sun Waiting,, waiting,, waiting,, waiting, waiting,, waiting,, waiting,, waiting Waiting for you to come along Waiting for you to hear my song Waiting for you to come along Waiting for you to tell me what went wrong This is the strangest life I've ever known [scream] Can you feel it Now that Spring has come That it's time to live in the scattered sun. Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun Waiting for the sun
the doors were together for only 57 months. Jim's voice and the bands musicianship stands out from other great musicians of the time. At one point I was so obsessed with him I flew over to Europe three times to visit his grave in Pere la chaise. What an experience that is!
Its just sad, too much endless potential. Especially compared to what our music industry chews up and spits out today. He still stands that test of time even in death with those vocals that barely is ever needed editing. Legendary doesn't even justify this group and this lead of a man. Damn
Not really..Jim put down everything he wanted musically..just listen..getting old and grey ...nah. He lived it from 65-70 ..stepped on thru to the other side..thats all
True poets do not need to rhyme. Original thought from the minds of a group of artists that are timeless. The only classification is their name. The Doors.
I'm from England. This is the ultimate question isn't it? Ultimate also because there are no bands really anymore. Anyway, I've pondered this question many a time and I think I agree.
What Jim does at 2:46 gives me chills every time I watch it...this was his genius on stage...what makes today's R & R performer's look like kids playing amateur hour.
The part where Jim screams out as John hits the cymbal shot, (like a mini-explosion), then Robbie goes wild on the guitar while Ray pounds out the chords, is very profound.
Damn, Jim was a such interesting person, he makes you understand how he felt thanks to his abstract poetry, every time I hear The Doors I feel a connection with him, like if he was talking to me. And Robby, Ray and John were really talented as well. The Doors deserve more respect, they should be in the “best bands of all time” conversation, more often.
It was a very surreal feeling I got when.i seen...robby. ray and john at the tomb or jim In Paris france in.my book all 3 next to Jim's grave ..they looked like they were so lost...then when Jim's family pulled Jim.out if france And replace him.st the Morrison family tomb It chaged again ...jim.was home finealy ..hes was passed away but still movein around👍
"At first flash of Eden, we race down to the sea. Standing there on freedom's shore" "Can you feel it, now that Spring has come, That it's time to live in the scattered sun" "This is the strangest life I've everrrr known"
Well, I get like that anytime I read about him, watch him talk or perform, because I can just sense his painful and lonely search for joy and genuine love and understanding. Jimmy was all about this, not some rock star that everybody is lusting after. He was very intelligent, deep and on a quest for something more than this physical life.
Wow, what a track. No, seriously, WHAT A TRACK!!! Their entire repertoire of quality pieces sounds better and better over each passing year and decade.
For my epileptic Uncle Bud in Ottawa in 1982. Memories... Had an old record player and dug the Doors together when Gram was out. He made attending Carleton U. so much more bearable and listening to this song and others by The Doors made life fun.
Oh man - when I was 7 back in 1968 I heard “Light My Fire” and have Loved The Doors ever since ... The thing that is so amazing is the decades have flown by but The Doors’ music is timeless And continues to affect people and spawn new musicians even in 2019
One of my favorite Doors tunes. Jim Morrison was a true poet with the voice of a bluesman and the mannerisms of a rock and roll legend. If you have a chance search "Autumn - The Goldtones." They're a band from Fayetteville, NC just trying to let the lost music be heard!
Yes he was especialy if you listen carefully to Jim morrison an a American poet The LP I STIILHAVE 3 STILL SEALEDY YOU HAVE A GOOD OPRTUNITY.TO EXPERIANCE JIMS TRUE TALENTS IN POETRY
I've collected doors stuff for years now still.at.it you woud be amazed at the doors stuff that pops up some stuff realy rare.the doors made a album that was green 1 year very rare most have never heard of it little alone seen one I have 1 and it has no.price on it not replace able
Look at any marble bust statue of *Alexander the Great* ; he + Jim are the same person -- *G O D S* in their own right. One conquered the world by the _sword_ and the other through his _poetry_ / music. ✌
Jim was speaking to those souls who understand him on a spiritual level as he was not much impressed with people and this physical life. He knew it was all a pretense and shallow thinking/living that most people were stuck with.
@@Dzanarika1 Well do you know what I was referring too? It has nothing to do w/looks or sexual appearance, thats for sure! It has everything to do w/ who he was as a person as a whole individual. How he thought & who he respected as a thinker, individual & who they were as a whole person! Thats what I was referring too in Jim & that there will never be another one like him! There won't be! Like a fingerprint where only one exists. Well thats Jim..... Mr Mojo Risin, Back Door Man.
@@niamarkantonakis2837 WTF?! How can you be so stupid and shallow to not understand my comment that did not have any negative meaning in it?! What made you jump like a loony?! Think before you react to people's comments!!!
Ok, so couple three years after I graduated high school, I met Mr. Acid. I will never forget going to a party in middle of winter at a friends house. He lived right down the road from me. My parents were gone for the weekend and I dropped 2 hits at like 2 am. Needless to say, I was tripping balls all night. 7 am I walked back to my house in the snow and sat in my room on the floor with this song on repeat and watched the sun come up. I never have had a lot of friends, my life blows but that is a memory ill hang onto until I am gone
Love it.. I sit here in wonder and in a familiar feeling "Waiting for the Sun" as I am making my 52nd trip around that Sun on this planet today. The feeling used to be very novel but now it's familiar and comforting. R.I.P. Jim you were a visionary, poet and a soul who saw more the most.
I was born 100 years after the fall of man in the garden, 7th generation Eden. Though I lack the grace to understand this song it somehow still speaks to my soul.
Um artista talentoso e tão belo. Uma pena que se perdeu no mundo das drogas e morreu tão cedo. Mas sempre podemos ver esses vídeos e relembrar o tempo em que êle vivia e nos deslumbrava com o seu talento.
The Doors have such amazing songs and I never heard group like them ! When I listening to them I am im another special world because they give me such special feelings and interesting mood
their 3rd best in my opinion, this is so good the first time i heard it i repeated it at least 20 times or more, especially the rythem change where he says "waiting for you to .... " that is EPIC!!!!
One of my fave tracks. Listening to the Duran retrospective at the weekend. Not just A-ha that gets inspired by Jim and the band but Simon Le Bon too..
Choose they croon the ancient ones The time has come again Choose now, they croon Beneath the moon Beside an ancient lake Enter again the sweet forest Enter the hot dream Come with us Everything is broken up and dances.
