What type(s) of employee bonus program does your restaurant offer?

We currently offer bonuses at the discretion of the management team for above and beyond performance. I work as a EKM for a corporate kitchen. I believe your daily bonus idea is genius and similar to something a friend of mine in the industry have discussed. I think if I could implement it that it would be game changing.

We do a quarterly 10% profit share with the employees, with longevity of time served and hours worked being variables in the formula. Every week we share previous weeks, current quarterly, current annual, and 3 month running food cost, labor costs, ticket times, and customer satisfaction scores with the team. We also compare these to the previous weeks and years numbers. We set new weekly goals and have a team discussion on things such as hiring more help or new dish sampling along with any concerns or raves that the team has. We have used this system at three restaurants and it has done absolute wonders for our efficiency and out team member moral. It gives them a visible goal and reason to care about the performance of the establishment along with giving them a sense of ownership of their roles in the business.

@@Therestaurantboss it has worked well for us. We have several team members that have been with us since we opened our first door 16 years ago. The interesting thing is when I talk to them about their “top and bottom 5” (our annual score card on what they like and dislike about working with us) the bonus is usually only third or fourth on the top list.

Great info. I just wish things was a tad bit more specific as to what could actually be offer other than money. I currently work in food service as a cook located in a financial institution and I’ve notice lack of employee incentive cause the other hourly to be uninterested I. Our kitchen meeting and service. I wish the management could incorporate incentive to increase productivity or I and hourly could introduce so incentive to increase productivity and teamwork.
