I agree with Brian 💯 at 28:23 that needs to be a thing, to not only protect people that doesn't know, but to protect kids too, kids are gonna run into bad people that don't care for their age & this could help stop that somewhat.

The problem when you build a persona around being a giant prick is that you get back the same energy you give. That's why no one waited for evidence. He cultivated his own reaction. Then it became true. And now he couldn't deserve it more.

The thing with the whole evidence side, though, is that his reaction was kind of telling. Like when I first heard the allegation I gave benefit of the doubt, I was 90% sure it wouldn’t be true, but 10% was “hold on, ex twitch employee, accusing on a public platform, if there wasn’t an element of truth to it he is opening himself up to a huge libel lawsuit”. Then Docs reaction not being the obvious “I deny all of the allegations, it never happened, my legal team will be dealing with this and i won’t be making any further comment” made me think “oh, hold on a minute, this is looking more like it is true” and I dropped to it being 50/50. THEN when Midnight Club fired him, and the Studio Head on his Personal account said “I can’t work with someone who inappropriately messages minors, I promised to only act on facts, and I did”. It dropped to a 10% at best chance that it wasn’t correct, because there’s no chance his own studio drops him after an investigation if there’s not an element of truth to it, and the Studio Head doesn’t tweet what he did without the accusation being accurate. Once Doc did his statement it confirmed, for me at least, that the accusation was true and that he was in damage control mode. The only thing that would convince me otherwise is if the transcripts of the conversations are leaked and it proves otherwise.

28:13 As an adult male that used to play a lot of servers and did stream back in the day I agree with Brian's rant. I refused to play with anyone who wasn't 18 or older and when I got invited to play with people that was my first question. One woman actually said it was being creepy wanting to know her age so I refused to play in the same server as her. That said verification usually was done online and an agreement was signed to join stating their age. While not foolproof it helped. Anyone I suspected of not being old enough it was a opt out for me. I spent so much time and effort it literally became too much of a hassle. The real kicker was one who we suspected so she gave a facebook account with pictures of her in a bar. She was cat-fishing using her older sister's facebook. In this case another adult male player and I made comments back and forth and even built a base shaped like male anatomy in a 7 days to die server we were streaming on. It was then I found out she was actually not the person she claimed to be. That was my final straw and I quit streaming before removing all my videos from youtube. Created a different account to disassociate completely and feel pretty good about it. Edit spelling

@@plang-plang5035 Not all the humor was family friendly. That's one reason we had channels segmented from streaming to just chat. Everyone logging into the streaming channel would watch what they say. However the fact we had a minor joining and chatting in the not family friendly chat.... You have to remember I was putting myself out there and had actually created an LLC company with staff. So saying inappropriate things to a minor that I didn't know not only put me at risk but those who relied on getting paid by me. Add to it two others were streaming also and just starting out.

We’re all pretty chill with a hand few of people even being in their early 20s but we have really great times together. Not being sexist but I’m glad there isn’t a girl in the server because drama and what not.
Sometimes it can be like a “rockstar syndrome” You feel like their reputation is so big and good, they can do no wrong. The problem is that they end up believing their hype and feel untouchable. Celebrities, (be it in film, sports, music,etc) are still people at the end of the day and can fall for the same everyday vices. Adam Blampied and Mini Ladd are other examples.

I enjoy watching my favorite youtubers (vanoss crew, actman, angryjoe, pewds) - since i was 16 im now 26 - talk about real world issues. Call me old now but gaming doesnt really intrigue me as it once did. I think evolving in the direction you guys have is the right move. But its also a double edged sword. Keep poking at topics like this and you better be ready for the overwhelmingly sea of voices that get flooded in your community. The real world is a dark and scary place and as a kid i was hidden under the façade that everything in the world is alright. I think unveiling topics like this will inevitably get you the views or “attention” that you seek, but it might not be the best attention you seek. All im saying is to be careful and tread lightly. I love this new form of content from you two, but I would HATE to see you two become burnt out from the conniving, ugly industry we are all programmed to. I'm not a lawyer, but I think they have to because minors are involved. I don't fully agree with it, but I get why because the internet (understandably) would go apeshit and might endanger a minor's identity.

Minors are given privacy and most cases are sealed from the public if they involve minors as to not endanger the child anymore than they've already been because, unfortunately, a lot of people, mostly adults, will attack or blame the kid and make their lives worse when they should be recovering or receiving care of some kind. With the civil case as well, there was probably a gag order of some type implemented as well, which prevented anyone involved from talking about it.
I stumbled upon a really heavy sweaty guy with a terrible haircut who had been defending him for hours yesterday. He kept saying, "Doc did nothing wrong if he didn't know her age and even if he did the sexual words he used don't meet the criteria that makes it illegal it's like a grey zone." I said: If there was an NDA involved there had to have been some kind of wrongdoing from Doc. The dude stopped talking for like 3 minutes. For those who say an NDA proves nothing. That can be true but what are NDA's typically used for? Keeping things a secret. What do those things usually end up being? They usually end up being things that shed a negative light upon an individual or company. Which gives off the impression he wanted to hide this for his and Twitch's gain. Right now we only have that NDA, the accusation, and Doc's admission to go on. All three of those combined leads to the idea he might be guilty. This would all end if the whispers were released to prove his innocence. If he did nothing wrong I don't understand why Doc isn't rushing to get them released.
Either way, he definitely lost his privilege to have a platform and influence. I really don’t think it deserves any jail time if nothing sexual actually occurred, like imo, inappropriate could just mean being friendly. as someone who has been around a lot of creatives who are in creative companies, i can say right now, NDAs are used most times very frivolously, normally in the context of "You won't discuss xyz thing about this until the product/service is released. VERY VERY VERY rarely is an NDA actually used to cover up something that was genuinely bad, and anyone who has dealt with them before can attest to this. most sponsorship deals for youtubers/events ect have NDAs that say you cant tell anyone how much the company paid you.

Can’t believe they played Cod and not remember the name of the M1 Garand. The Springfield and Enfield were both bolt action rifles. I totally agree with Brian, I've been talking about the gaming community in general with Friends that having some kind of proof identity for games and game services would be a net positive for everyone, yes we all played 18+ game's when we were younger but I thinking with how the industry as a whole is at the moment verifying ages and identities would be good. Swearing in voice chat for example, COD is a 18+ game, the in-game characters swear and use offensive language but swearing in over comms can get you banned because you may be swear at a child, this seems stupid as if you can't swear then their should be no swearing in the game, this should also be with the prevision that you must accept before you play the game that you may hear language you may be offended by and that you accept responsibility of potentially hearing language that may offend, if you going to play a competitive game where emotions can be high then you should have to accept responsibility for putting your self in a situation where you may be offended. you can already turn off voice chat but it seems that it's people choosing to be offended. p.s. To clarify no I'm not saying that it's okay to go out of you way to offend people but there is a level of responsibility on people choosing to enable voice chat which I don't see get talked about enough.

(i believe it's also where the meme came from, because it was really huge at the time and caused a lot of drama), ppl kept asking him to provide proof, but he never gave any. Also Delerious wasn't the only 1 he had his sights on. He kept saying "trust me, i have proof" but never shown them. Then went out and try to create his own fake story. Eventually they both settled it, i think without court (but probably with the threat of going to court).

It was something really stupid from Delerious' part, but eventually that was all it was. If i am correct it is permanent. In some way it was a good thing, because this way he had no interaction with Ohm anymore. Also another thing, Delerious and his girlfriend had shown proof of all the things they said, whereas Ohm never shown proof of anything he said.

I play a lot of MMOs and multiplayer games where there are some minors in my guilds/clans/party. There's nothing wrong with chatting with your minor clan mates in those settings and about said games ONLY. If you start to send messages privately and inappropriately, you've crossed a major line, and it's disgusting.

I know this was stuff nogla, terrorizer, or the rest of the crew weren't obligated to talk about the mini situation since they were not involved with his actions, and it was that most of them knew the person who happens to be doing those gross stuff in the past. it might have been just a sensitive topic. There's two things that make the doc situation so odd. The fact this was somewhat publicly talked about for 4 years and the fact that doc said he cheated but not the age of the person he cheated with. I know why he did it but why didn't anyone else call him out. Especially his wife if she saw the messages. I guess she probably just saw the messages and assumed they were an older person but that's still a bit odd and kinda proves that there was probably a point where doc didn't know their age or had no way of knowing besides asking which is still what he should've done. I honestly don't care to much because this happened years ago and no one cared enough to say anything including the victim themselves. That's like witnessing a murder and keeping quiet about it for 4 years and only then do you inform the police of the murderers identity. Can't really tell docs motives completely but I would definitely guess he didn't know their age initially and probably found out too late. That's usually how it goes. Sorry for the rant.😅

I don't know why he didn't say that for sure but it's probably because he knew it wouldn't help the allegations and would just make him look more like he's trying to defend his actions. Completely agree with your statement on the situation. I think that as an adult, ALWAYS ask for the age of someone that you are flirting with on the Internet. And if he didn’t initially know she was a minor, it’s still possible he could’ve found out midway through and still continued with the messaging. Not to necessarily accuse him of that, but there are definitely multiple possible cases to the scenario.
About the Doc situation, So Mixer dies right then doc gets banned for ONE intendent that happened in whisper messages 3 years prior. Contracts have morality clauses and you cannot make a non disclosure agreement for a crime. So if he was guilty there would be no non disclosure agreement and the contract would be void by the morality clauses. He got paid and has no criminal record and has a non disclosure agreement. What happened was before Mixer died they got Ninja and Shroud for millions, then Docs twitch contract expirers, Doc gets a new twitch contract that is expensive because doc at the time was saying he would go to mixer in many streams. Mixer dies and twitch tries to renegotiate, Doc wants to keep the money and to save money twitch voids the doc contract due to morality clauses. Doc lawyers up and the amazon lawyers sees the evidence and settles. IF AMAZON LAWYERS SETTLES THEY HAD NOTHING. Think about if doc went after a minor and nothing happened for 3 years, no meet ups, pics or PDF actions then all that happened was doc in 2017 said something spicy to a fan who happened to be underage, why he was very toxic or very disrespectful. Dr. Disrespect was very disrespectful 7 years ago. I could see him say wild shit in character but not mean any of it. The reason why this was outed was there where many twitch layoffs but the layoffs come in waves, there was one earlier that had hundreds, Cody saw he was on the chopping block quits early to focus on music and he needs something to promote himself. Hes mad at twitch and is salty at them and at doc, for suing twitch why not say why doc got banned in a very uncharitable way. This gets doc in trouble and twitch. Now both haft to lawyer up to talk about how doc can handle this. You will see many of the current twitch mods who have confirmed this go away quietly and if not they will be on pay until their nda gets renewed then fired. Ndas last for about 4 years so just look at timing of when these people where hired and if they stay before the next layoff wave.
