There's been quite a bit of noise around Hoonigan, so I decided to talk about it in my full video on my channel. What're your thoughts? Don't forget to drop it below and subscribe!
@@bwadsworth87 Suppy was there to help with some of the big builds. Same goes for Alex Grimm. But Suppy was in the last video of Zach building his Godzilla powered Blazer.
It's good to see people progress and move onto doing other things. We all miss what brought us to hoonigan in the first place but ask yourself honestly how much longer would it have taken before we got bored with some of the things they were doing? Hoonigan still has chance to keep our attention. If a channel started out with grass roots DIY on shit boxes every now and then they need bring back some of that content...
No matter how hard they try, corporations can’t have souls. I didn’t even know about the 2021 purchase but I noticed a change and that’s about the time I started losing interest in them.
I did too they use to do a bunch of skety stuff and piss of their neighbors and they stopped all that it was so much more about them just having fun back in the day and I miss that energy
@@tiagoangelo3828 Motor Trend realized it could make money and put it behind a paywall so people slowly stopped watching it, and it stopped growing because it wasn't on youtube. You can still get it on MTOD but it's also on TV now apparently. It's alive but barely
Hoonigan has been called out in a few more places too. They have managed to piss out the off road guys, the on road guys, and everyone in the middle in just a few month. I have a feeling it’s not going to go well.
He "said" he's still on. Still going to be involved allegedly. Just won't be around in videos and the like as much. They posted a video about it the other week. Iirc he said he also might end up at more shows. That's if memory serves. So don't quote that part.
@@3xeplodng_3agle_studiosyeah, I wouldn’t take this statement seriously as well. This reminds me of Alex of Car Throttle stating he would still be around, but that ended being false. I just assume once all these car personalities get big, they want to go their own separate ways.
It's no longer dudes having fun ripping around in their shop with their friends. You cant empathize with these guys anymore. It's the same reason I stopped watching AdamLZ. It wasnt like Im putting my foot down and never watching again. It was lack of enjoyment. When I see these guys open up a shop or showing off this cool car it's depressing. Here I am spending every penny I have and doing all of the work just to build a nice foxbody exactly how I want it. Then I open a youtube video of a dude with 20 cars in a giant garage talking about his newest imported car that's about to have at least 20k in mods thrown into it. Shit dude I spent everything I had just to have the engine built to around 400hp (all internal work done by a machine shop, cant do that myself lol)
I dropped LZ after he got his first beige 240 and a couple of drift event i cant even tell you what's the next car he got I loved Bert and the other guys A day in the life of bert is one of my favorite YT videos And honestly after Ken's passing i felt the same way as i did when i stopped liking LZ you know the feeling in the stomach going away and interest fading
@@vinnyboylec4716exact opposite. The good feeling was replaced with a mournful sorrow and dread. I knew hoonigan was going to die with Ken. Everything else going on around that time.... His passing was too ominous. I hope we're all wrong somehow. Even if it isn't immediate or immediately obvious.
Stop beating yourself down!!! Don’t say you can’t or don’t have those things these guys picked up a camera and started filming and got them where they are today! I think the only big big automotive channel out there that’s stayed doing the same goofy shit is cleetus! But no matter what they do I’m hooked!!!
Dam didn’t know that! Use to see there 350z vids all the time in reels now nothing! People that buy these channels have got to know that the existing content and cash flow and audience is gonna change
I think you mean Donut media its soul, because technically Donut is doing better than ever. They killed off the show formats and started pushing their merch much more. The recent Hi-Lows were very disappointing despite owning their own car shop now. I just want B2B, money pit, and up to speed back.
Hoonigan died when Ken died and it’s not his fault or anyone’s. Ken more then likely was told he could do whatever by wheel pros as long as money was coming in which it was when Ken died they probably just took over and didn’t know how to do what Ken did and that’s it. No one had a reason to stay they all had a huge following of their own and new what to do if they didn’t like the company without Ken so be it. Hoonigan isn’t as bad figment industries is selling some of the worst wheels money can buy and have 3 websites rebranded but it really being the same site
Vin just announced his resignation as well😔... i hope they all have better opportunities and can find each other in a another development team again one day.. best of luck to all the Hoon and RIP KB43VER
Gonna summerize what i said on your long form vid. Wheelpros ≠ Hoonigan and now that Ken is no longer here it's going to die a slow death in the media as a pop culture phenomenon now that the main cast is leaving. (I like you bringing up my authenticity part too lol)
@@robbiekurtz1why does everyone think everyone else is delusional these days? Is that like how everyone was worried their neighbor was a terrorist in the mid 2000's? Or how everyone was running around calling each other narcissistic without even knowing what it means? Or like the blatant misuse of the word "cope" then clearly deflecting by either doubling down in insults or claiming to be "trolling" if rebuked or called out for it, when the majority of the time they weren't and just needed an excuse so they wouldn't feel dumb for making a lame joke?
Hoonigan was practically already a fad before Ken died, it’s just going away quicker now without him, a lot modern car culture is showing the fad it really is as everyone is “trying” to abandon donut on loose threads hope everyone follows
End of an Era. Would never be the same since Ken passed anyhow. Ken was the foundation of that channel and without him it was a matter of time. RIP, Ken Block 43ver.
I predicted exactly this because after Ken died, I just had a feeling we would come to this point where Hoonigan would progressively begin to fall apart as the days went on and we can kinda see that now. It would be cool to see Lia continue the legacy as she's doing it, it just doesn't have the same touch.
I think Hoonigan just suffered from the same thing Faze clan suffered from. They got “too big”. When you build these brands on the grounds of being different and standing out, it’s extremely hard to maintain that same ground once you become an international phenomenon. It’s the blessing and the curse of the internet.
Alex Martini you hold the title as one of the best automotive RU-vidrs in my heart. Very relatable and personable I’d love to meet you in person some time! Maybe tuner galleria 2024 👀
They posted a video where he explains. Its not quite that simple. If we're to believe his exact words. But nondisclosure agreements and all that make it hard to tell.
I assure you that the Lia video and electrikhana are gonna be the last major interesting videos that will garner any substantial attention. I’m really hoping I’m wrong on this but with the way they’re going I’m not seeing anything bright for their future.
If they wanna survive, they gotta go big. Turn it into a full-fledged race team. Spend this year making a car and training Lia to dominate Pike's Peak. The first female record since Michelle Mouton would be huge, and could potentially inspire thousands of young girls to get into racing. Instead of just RU-vid, Hoonigan could be an entity that inspires and trains the next generation of motorsports and engineering. The possibilities are endless!
Nice Cobra! I think i saw a metco lower pulley. Make sure it's stock size lower - if it's a #2, #4, or #6, your motor is in trouble since you mentioned it is not tuned.
The most entertaining videos for me was grim and suppy and the other dudes fucking around with each other building the various cars. The editing was hilarious.
R.I.P. good times, the groups of people that made the great content together need to comeback under at least a slightly different name and bring back the glory of working together and work having the soul it lost
Rest in peace OG Hoonigan and Ken Block 😢😢. Damn, as a car enthusiast this is pretty depressing loosing the vibe that Ken and his friends worked so hard to create.
with all of the orginial guys gone including ron who just announced his departure it wont be the same brand anymore, the pikes peak doc only came out so late because i believe something to do with wheelpros, but the OGs are now doing theyre own things and we should support them in their new ventures
SO SAD this is happening!!! I would do anything i could to help keep this Company alive!!! Literally all Kens so called friends just bailing on his legacy. what a joke. I'm sorry Leah.
New hoonigan (wheel pros) is squeezing this last gymkhana and kens legacy for a buck. It’s a bunch of investors, they don’t give a rats ass about the real car enthusiast. Hoonigan is dead. 😢
Certainly! I've heard of hoonigan but your friends and Zack, iconic personalities as you call them, are completely unknowns😂 people just like rowdy car driving ...
These corporations ruin everything. Hoonigan OGs should get together and start something again whether it’s working on there cars in there driveways and do project cars and giveaway to one of there subscribers that would be good 👌
Honestly the end started a while back. Chase left which was a massive loss, then Danger Dan, then several behind the scene personalities from camera ppl to coordinators, then Hert left, Vin recently has made his own goodbye video. Scotto does his own thing, Zack left for a while to work with Ken, but then came back after his passing. Brad and King left to do their own things and came back to be guest personalities, no idea what the future holds, but it's def going to be different from its past.
Chillout bro. Those og's have done a lot and provided a lot to the world whenever they could wherever they could. Don't try to make the situation sound sudden. Hoonigan has been in the game. Far longer than you and your childhood. Hoonigan will never die, it was never just a business. It has been a way of life in the car community. Let the OG's be OG's. For all they've done before, after the passing of the great KB and still now. If they wanna call it a day and see what else is the world then it's all good since they still are who they are . The branding of Hoonigan might be disappearing but Hoonigan is living forever.
They need to get back together and start making RU-vid videos together and start a new company . They all have a great following and as soon as they post they are gonna have a big jump in subscribers just because they are so well known and respected especially after they all left hoonigan because they didn’t agree with they way hoonigan is going
I love the old hoonigan crew. But calling them iconic builders is a stretch. They're almost better for different reasons but we are not talking about Boyd Coddington here lol.
It’s sad seeing something I grew up being inspired by and things I always wanted to do, come to an end. Rest in peace to Ken, but the boys should be doing everything to keep hoonigan together and his legacy alive
After Ken Block died, everything hit the fan I would watch on like a weekly basis somebody bring their custom car to the shop and it was entertaining now it is drag racing every single episode. Unless of course they’re playing video games.
Ngl here; I think when they started brining in that blonde girl and then she'd say "I think the red cars gunna win because ref a faster color" or something like that... That took a lot of the madness that Zach and Hert Brought 😢
It's going to be hard to keep something like Hooniagian alive without Ken. It's like a ship without a captain.😢 I don't think it's possible for them to survive without making it corporate.
Hoonigan is no more, no Ken=no heart and soul of Hoonigan, he kept the meaning of hooning alive and half this generation doesn't even know what Hoonigan means. Sad, just sad...
While the Hoonigan brand may have lost the plot, the original spirit hasn’t, hell me and my buddies still try to embody it the best we can… grant it we all drive shit boxes but hey we make do and still have fun
It’s just sad that the people who made hoogian are gone. I just don’t understand why they don’t all come together and build something that can’t be brought
Hoonigan was started by Ken Block. He wanted all control of everything when it came to the production of his gymkhana videos. After his untimely passing I believe is when hoonigan was taken over. So the hoonigan brand left when Ken did unfortunately.
