Man I am so heartbroken over this. Naughty Dog has been a part of my life since childhood. I finally beat Uncharted 4 last night and despite everything I still loved it. But to see this company fall and especially hearing/reading about how they treat their employees sickens me.

Considering what happened with TLOU2, people are gonna be way more wary of the name Druckmann. Also, now that they have no existing IPs left, they will have to create a new one. Honestly, the reason why TLOU2 sold 4 million was because of the name TLOU slapped on to it. With a new IP, gamers might well just steer away from any Druckmann-directed game. Their next game might just be a flop.

I absolutely loved The Last of Us and I consider Ellie one of the best female characters in film/gaming/literature/whatever, but I'll be passing on Part II. Sacrificing narrative on the altar of politics will make yet another example of a game company (like BFV wasn't enough).

If they continue to make games that only really reward boring virtue signalers, then yeah, I have no interest in any of their games going forward. The Last of Us 1 was a story, and a great one, one that many of us wanted to play multiple times. Don't know what they're giving us now, but I hope people don't line up for it anymore. I know how some gamers are - they'll lean on Naughty Dog to 'repair' what was done, and I wouldn't be surprised if Naughty Dog dared to suggest that that is exactly what they plan to do. In the end, gamers want games, with worthwhile stories. Not insulting morality lessons. The players who think a game is merely important enough for others to play won't nearly be enough of the market share - not for the success that Naughty Dog claims. And I really hope that mistake becomes fully apparent and they get back to not wasting players' time. They should be licking the fans' feet for how successful Last of Us 1 was, and they wouldn't dare have made that game the way they have chartered this 'new direction' (sarcastic).

4 reasons the game wast a dumpster fire. 1. The whole story was just about Ellie getting revenge and not even killing her main target at the end. (Community’s opinion not mine) 2. Joel should’ve went out protecting Ellie and not trusting a stranger 3. Half the time u got to play as Abby even if u didn’t want to 4. The end was in Abby’s favor Hope the next game is better

Naughty Dog writers did the fans dirty as hell. This story line is not how you reward fans for loving your first installment. I’m pretty numb towards the writers of the last of us 2 right now, and have been since I saw Joel die. Why was this even brought up at the table? Which genius had that bright idea? Cuz it’s dumb! Every fan out there wanted Joel and Ellie to fight more monsters and grow into a deeper father daughter type relationship. Not this. Nobody asked for this. Nobody wanted what we got instead. Nobody. I hope someone learned something from this butt plunging, no soap, disheartening taste naughty dog left to all it’s “previous” fans. The game sold big numbers cuz fans thought they were getting Joel and Ellie back for another fantastic adventure. Had people have known what was really about to happen sales numbers would look very different. Then they make me use the very character that kills Joel... which I didn’t want any part of! I had to pause the game and think about if I really was gonna continue or not. I asked myself some very hard personal questions about my level of forgiveness towards people and if I was willing to go through with trying to understand Abbey’s side of the story. I didn’t want to. But I chose to stuff my emotions and see what naughty dog wanted me to feel. Fine, let’s go. Abbey grew on me and I started to feel her pain. Thanks for teaching me that, really. I’m better for it. Then you make me fight Ellie??? NO, I won’t. I don’t want to. Why!? Wtf! What’s wrong with y’all? I don’t want to fight her, I love her like a sister from 5 years ago, remember. What the hell is wrong with you people? Ok, so I can’t progress in the story unless I try to kill Ellie, so FINE we have to do it I guess. Now at this point I’m playing the game with nothing left to feel about Joel, or Ellie or Abbey cuz I’m too scared to like any characters anymore! So I’m just pushing buttons to get over the story by now. Maybe my love for artwork or the console itself will help. So I get to the end and abbey is looking like a crackhead but she still strong enough to go toe to toe with Ells. Whatever. It’s finally over and Ellie lost her girlfriend over for nothing. Waste her time going to look for fake revenge. At least give me a reason to like somebody somewhere! Damn! Not even a little! Just rape me. Take my money and run. The body language of Ellie, her clumsy gestures in the last scene of TLOU1 is simply awesome. How can it be so perfect? A teen finally deciding te ask THE question. Flawless. I won't by TLOU2. The staff changes unleashed Druckmann, no control, no feedback, forced and irrelevant LGBT agenda, shallow characters, loosy pacing, no-context brutality and endless pain to be forced to play a character you hate, because they want to tell their story by all means. C'mon. They couldn't keep their own well-thought standards to repeat TLOU's success. They've utterly failed and that's the responsibility of Druckmann to not let anyone near the story with a clear mind. And now all they can come up with is face-lifting Ellie (turning her into an artificial adult) and try to sell the 9year old game again for 70$. The end of a franchise.

Forcing main character to always be a white man between 30 and 50 because it's was what was the most popular is A OK, but once you start forcing female or trans main character, suddenly the fandom starts to realise that main characters are dictated by political and commercial rules. You guys are such hypocrites, you only see the problem when you stop feeling represented, but didn't see any issue when you were overrepresented. Dear Neil, I understand what you were trying to achieve. Dear ND employees, I truly appreciate your work, now and always. But. Joel's decision at the end of TLOU1 was never a problem for most of us fans. We know what he did wasn't right, but we KNOW it wasn't wrong either. Wasn't the whole point of the game to save HIM? Is it so hard to understand that we wanted to play as Joel for a lot more than just a horseback ride?

I remember few years ago when you heard naughty dog you thought of high quality, for example people heard a naughty dog employee helped design Marvel Spiderman, they were so hyped cuz of it, but now they fully tarnished their reputation

I enjoyed your video. Here is my opinion on The last of us 2 At the first sign of negative reviews. Even back a few months ago when the leaks were coming out, these so-called "media critics" try to hide this game's failure behind a simple-minded: hurr durr we don't like lesbians and trans in our games. Sadly, this isn't the problem with The Last of Us 2. And it wasn't even a problem in The Last of Us. The character Bill from the first game was confirmed gay, Ellie had a whole DLC revealing her to have lesbian tendencies as a kid. . . So why this outrage with *this* game? Because it was done, and written badly. A franchise that was focused on the relationship between two characters, Joel and Ellie. Gets suddenly replaced by Dina (????) and Abby (????) characters whom we have no reason to care for. It's pretty apparent Dina has so little significance to the story. Ellie and Dina's journey is so uninteresting it makes the hours subsequent to Joel's death utterly boring. Because once again we have no reason to care for their dialogue or their romance. They're just lesbians. The game also doesn't bother to hide its efforts at trying to make Abby a relatable and "likable" character. Simultaneously killing Joel in the most pathetic of ways and revealing her to be the one that advocated for Ellie to give her life in the first game. And in my opinion, this is the most senseless thing this game has tried to do. For absolutely no one can begin to appreciate this character. (And I won't even begin to talk about where Abby comes from or the origins of her character. Or even the logistics behind a trans woman in the apocalypse). So once again, she is redundantly "that trans character", that is forcefully shoved down this torn apart plot. Continuing : Plenty, and I mean plenty of people have already talked about the complete DECIMATION of Joel's character in this game. I doubt I need to say anything about it. From how dumb he's become to the disrespect of the first game. It was truly sad. What we get instead is a basic "revenge" arc that starts in the first 2 hours of the game and leaves the players with a feeling of "I don't want to play anymore". And what's the point? The amazing thing about this game and the reason why fans waited so long for this second title was the relationship between Ellie and Joel. The ending of the first game captivated me for years. The drama it leads to, the suspense of the continuity of that relationship. The lie, the cure. The growth of Ellie as a person and as a character and how Joel would face it . . . in this game we get none of it. Finally, If I had to summarize this in one word: Empty. Not only because it left me empty inside for a few hours. But because it is just that. Empty. A beautiful and well-designed game with intricate levels and a worthy upgrade of the first game that is Completely Empty. After I was done watching the whole thing I couldn't help but think: So much waster potential, and for what? . .

How ironic with the beginning when they kept saying about the end of naughty dog because if the leaks are true it doesn’t even sound like a last of us game, it sounds like s completely new game with a new title except they are using characters from the last of us.

So they have an agenda, this agenda is bogging down a lot of different mediums of entertainment, political/social opinions are fine, you're allowed to have those, but, in context, the only agenda that should be top priority is, making a good product, why, because it will sell, and after all they are in the business of making money, this is also why the customer is always right

Also, I cannot relate to a transgender woman, and almost everyone else could agree, but giving us a cycle of revenge story and Abby motivation to kill Joel because Joel couldn't bare to see another little girl that he befriended and resembled his little girl. Yea, Joel killing Abby's parents was justified if it meant him saving Ellie's life. Lastly, how is abby able to maintain her muscle mass and her testosterone levels on check, when people are struggling to survive, and preventing themselves from being malnourished? One more thing, I expected the Fireflies would be on a man/women haunt for Joel and Ellie after what Joel did, because, you know, consequences and consistency for story.

Yet, it was the biggest selling game debut for a PS exclusive. I've beaten the game already and can't agree on this reviewers. It shows a tremendous lack of plot knowledge or character. I always laugh when I see reviewers say The Last of Us Part 2 is a Revenge Game. It's totally wrong. It's quite the opposite. It's a story about forgiveness and the path you take to learning to forgive. Joel's death is a pinnacle for Ellie to learn about forgiveness because all Joel taught her in life was revenge. I think it's a brilliant game and story.

Yes, a gay companionship appeals to a specific demographic but, shouldn’t everyone be able to digest it, rather be considered an agenda on the studios part? If the story is bad, it shouldn’t be blamed on characters being gay, just that the characters are being handled badly.
