Maybe Bob should've watched the Spongebob episode where Plankton recruits his cousins to steal the formula. That episode is a cautionary tale about what happens when you recruit your family into your evil schemes!
Other than that, can't wait for Bob's new show to come out on Paramount Plus in the fall!

Personally, I think they should have let Bob get redeemed in in Brother From Another Series. Then Cecil would become Lisa's enemy whom he would try to kill for a few seasons before he would quit. Both Bob and Cecil would still make appearances after that but they no longer hunt the kids down. It would have been better then repeating the same plot over and over.

I think he after that should be, like i am ok i he is arrested there, its fitting but he should just try jut to hav any life. Also end up , lik i am fine ending as major in that italian city. can he stay that?! Can he stay a reformed guy an major of a city or at least , live happy with his family. Jut let him. There's been more than one plot in the Simpsons Comics where Bart and Bob team up to stop something, only for Bob to be misblamed and wind up back in the hoosegow.

Bob has always been one of the more interesting villains in the show and there's times where he's not the bad guy...those are the few times where I think he deserves a break I mean he has talent and it's not often recognized it seems pushed under the rug a lot...I feel sorry for the nicer side to Bob...not for the side that tries murdering a kid

When Sideshow Bob gets paroled after trying to kill Selma, running into the Simpsons in the movie theater, he was dressed like Max Cady, in an homage to an identical scene from the 1991 version of the movie Cape Fear. Robert Dinero played Cady in that one, it's a classic.

Kelsey Grammar is a Godsend to the Simpsons since his 1st spotlight episode framing Krusty! Since then, his episodes are usually a great highlight and pinnacle to comedy. Sadly, his decline is only by those who have written him poorly in some seasons.

I actually love the Italian bob, but a lot of the references are super specific to art history, which I kept going back to school for, and there are some sweet visual puns in the backgrounds--so it's for a niche audience as compared to the Gilbert and Sullivan, Shakespearean stuff, and frasier references.

Personally, I am not so surprised that Bob's family wanted to help him in his vendetta in the episode "Funeral for a fiend". His wife was loyal and faithful to him, his son appeared to have the same psychotic tendencies as him and his brother must have wanted revenge on Bart on account of having taken part in his imprisonment for the attempt to blow up the damm. I believe that Bob's parents, after having seen how crazy their son had become, decided to take help him hoping that once Bart was dead their son would be cured from his insanity.

sideshow bob was my favorite character from the Simpsons. I always enjoyed finding a episode with him. First I think the funeral plan would have been better with the whole plan focused on Lisa (i.e. the Shakespeare misquote and she was the last one of the Simpsons that wronged him) you could literally make bart and sideshow bob like gumball and rob when rob didn't want to be his nemesis anymore. Secondly i personally think sideshow bob would enjoy some of sweeny Todd.

Great video! I absolutely adore Sideshow Bob, he's my favourite Simpsons character too. I'm glad I'm not the only one who found out about Frasier because it was parodied in the episode with Bob and his brother. I also heavily agree about Funeral for a Fiend! It was such an underwhelming episode, even though there was so much interesting places it could've gone in. Despite that, I think that even the worst of Bob episodes all still have something going for them. He makes every story better with his presence, because he is such a great and dynamic character, and Kelsey Grammer always delivers a wonderful performance. I'm kinda sad that you didn't talk about Day of the Jackanapes from season 12, though. It's potentially my favourite Bob episode, I just love it so much

Yeah I really hated that episode as well as the last one Kitty mentioned as a good one - where he takes the face of another person. I found it outright terrible and really the worst two episodes I could imagine - much worse than the one where he and his family fake his death. That one had qiute some interesting parts although I didn't really like it.

Even if someone (ostensibly) has a heart of obsidian, you can only watch them get smacked down by fate and writing so many times, and when a character actually has some measure of redeeming qualities and attempts to be better, then it really get old fast. You've got to throw them a bone now and then. Even Jessie, James, and Meowth occasionally got to feel good, and the thing they're best remembered for is being yeeted into a different area code by some form of explosion.

Honestly, I'm glad that Sideshow Bob really did reform in some of his last episodes, and stayed that way for his most recent one. Having him finally reconcile with Bart after years of trying and failing to murder him, because of Bart seeming to be deceased, is kinda touching.

there are actually some legal sense to Sideshow Bob's plan. In the sense that the constitution states that no one can be convicted of a crime in a state where crime didn't happen. So in theory if it happened in disputed territory or territory not claimed by any state, then convicting Sideshow Bob would be potentially unconstitutional. Now in this case he'd probably just be convicted in the state where he fired the bullet but in theory there are parts in the country where Bob could get away with killing bart.

I have a little detail to point out about the episode "Funeral for a fiend". When Lisa said "Why would your family go to all that trouble for the comfort of a dead man" i think she meant why would Sideshow Bob's family work so hard to make a comfortable coffin for a dead man who was going to be burned.

I'll never forget some of his triumphant classics back Inhis glory days, even when he *FINALLY* gotten kill off Bart multiple times In that Halloween Special (no matter how noncannon It was or not) but It truly Is sadden to see him at his weakest and more bland performances yet and not one spiritual successor rose upon the ashes to take his place unlike Futurerama or even Disenchantment. I have two theories on Krusty being illiterate. This one’s kind of obvious but it could be due to drug and alcohol use. He probably had brain damage and forgot to read or something else could’ve happened after his heart attack to hinder his ability. My main theory is that since his dad is a rabbi and Krusty’s most likely a third generation American is that he grew up learning to read Hebrew but no English. That explains why he can be seen reading in the past when he’s supposedly illiterate, the cue cards were written in the Hebrew alphabet and Krusty’s translating.

stopped at the Krusty being illiterate part: I just looked up Hebrew and it's alphabet is way different than ours. so maybe Krusty only learned how to read Hebrew and not proper English. and I have seen future episodes where one will claim he still can't read but will read off something in a later episode. my favorite "it's not my fault, it's the Percodan." I forget the exact insult after. "and now a word from our sponsor, what's that say...PERCODAN!!! AWW CRAP!!!" correction: he doesn't ask what's that say so maybe someone offscreen just showed him some Percodan as a visual aide.

I'm always glad to hear people tangent to Cheers and Frasier; know them both like the back of my hand (wait, what the hell is that) but I didn't know half of these episodes exists (I knew about the OG episodes like Ciesel or the bar reference). I don't know why I'm surprised they tried to do the references again (20 years later) to diminished returns... I love Cheers and Frasier but it didn't even occur to me to try and copycat it with John Mahoney. Also, there's an episode of Cheers called Bar Wars V: The Final Judgement and the Bob Dies episode is very much that.

To sideline and add an alternate timeline to Cape Fear, Bob catches onto the ruse, ices Bart in front of Lisa, traumatizing her for life, and in turn becoming her penultimate victim when she has help from Maggie in prison.

Especially in the later episodes where it shows that Lisa and Nelson still have a cute feelings towards each other. The scariest/creepiest Bob scene is in ‘Bart the murderer’ it is inbetween ‘Krusty gets busted’ and ‘black widower’ , he is Bart’s ‘cell mate’ when Bart is locked up and it’s not the dream sequence. It’s creepy af because Bart just looks at him depressed and scared and Bob just silently lifts weights , is packing serious beef (Muscley arms) and just sneers highly menacingly at Bart. Nothing is ever mentioned again about this scene and it must be assumed that Bob stopped lifting weights before he returned to propose to Selma 😆😄

Answer your question no not really they barely Touch One the relationship between Christian and his father Rabbi something I forgot his name, proving my point on how long that character was around throughout the series. Sideshow Bob however, the writer is kinda overused him at the same running gags didn't have the same timorous effect.

I’m glad that the fact his show was successful and Bob was popular wasn’t lost on you. Someone on a video said ‘deluded ideas about fame/success’ in regards to Bob but it wasn’t his show hosting was successful hence there is noise around him , the audience love him and forget about Krusty instead of ‘killing themselves’ when he’s off the air , Lisa calls him less patronising than Krusty and there is obviously lots of merch in the making for Bob much like Krusty before him . Consider how popular Krusty is and Bob even wins a Emmy while incarcerated having framed him . He also would have won the mayoral election by a landslide without cheating . He’s a popular man .
