The fact that players are so easily able to save hundreds of pulls without spending money, knowing exactly what they want, is pretty much the only reason I could ever imagine HG/Yostar deciding to catch our server up. They would definitely make a lot more money if they did, but Yostar is Yostar and we all know it takes 6 months + extra dead week to (mis)translate all the ingame text

I like knowing what's coming ahead of time, not to plan what I pull for since I pull for every operator, but to plan my farming based on what events are coming.
I don't like the spoilers of being 6 months behind, but at the same time it gives me something to look forward to, I also have bad memory, so I enjoy the trailers twice!
We do have to remember the niche which comes from having multiple servers span across 6-8 months. Players from CN are able to have a second or third chance at beating stages, or redo stages with different solutions. Rhine Lab tried doing r39 on the EN and JP servers after months of planning iirc.
@@hendrihendri3939 From what I understand/have seen/been told, no, 39 was not achieved by CN or JP; Lungmen Dragons also didn't make it to 39, owing to a multitude of problems. Maybe something can happen when it runs again on the TW servers (some of the CN groups are potentially going to try it out), but I'm not super sure as I don't have firsthand evidence of that.

I'm in the majority here, I love being able to plan ahead. I would also say my hype doesn't get spoiled because even if we see events, it's different getting to experience them firsthand (I also don't really watch streamers doing the new CN content). That said, I can see where Yii is coming from. I don't know how Yostar could catch Global up without major downsides.
If I recall correctly, the six month gap has grown even longer since the announcement for Ebenholz's event - It is now closer to seven months. It makes a lot of sense if you think about it. If we take into account EN voice actor implementation, the ever-larger amount of material to translate, coordination with the anime... Yostar has a lot to do. The game has grown a lot over the last year, and rushing is not a good idea if we want Endfield's release to be even more chaotic.
I've played JP and EN version, able to pull servants you like immediately vs 2 years later feels really different. After two years, other then feeling relief because able to get servants I want the rest is bland. No hype at all. Mostly just take screenshoot of the rolls to show off -_-
People always bring up the thing about not being hyped by the time the content arrives. Frankly, I think that's your own impatience tricking you. You get hyped, and then the event comes and it's just another event like any other the game has had. And since you were so hyped for it 6 months ago, you attribute the disappointment to the loss of that hype, like if you'd gotten it right then when you were most excited for it then you would've enjoyed it more. I've played several gachas that don't have a content gap (GBF, E7, and Genshin off the top of my head), and I'm gonna say that it really doesn't make as much difference as people seem to think. The hype cycle just becomes a lot smaller. Not gonna comment much on the bit about competing in CC events because I'm just not a competitive person by nature. I honestly don't see the appeal of comparing your clears to others as opposed to just enjoying it for yourself.
On my side, I actually like clairvoyance ! I know it's a bit annoying for people not discovering new events, but in my opinion if you're not going too much into it or analysing (just trailers or maybe having seen slightly new ops), you still will enjoy new content. On events and new content, what people usually look up to (generally ops to save for) is just the tip of the iceberg from all there is, and if you're getting spoiled (music, lore, clears, mechanics, etc), it's because you actively searched for it. Having information in advance permits to have a nice look on the timeline/schedule and hopefully cleaner and more polished new content, not only about pulls (while it's very useful on its own, since gacha isn't forgiving and the perspective of saving is very very welcomed). I think it will benefit more players overall despite not the more tryhard part of it (I personally don't care about high risks clears for instance and I think majority of players don't, but your argument about it for players caring is totally right), on my side I'm very fine with having clairvoyance on games like ak and fgo
the only time i'd accept non-cn servers catching up... is when arknights no longer gets updates. like, if the story just ended right there and now in CN and we can finally catch up, i'd be at peace for once.
I'm a new player (started around SN event), but I came here after playing Fire Emblem Heroes (another gacha) for 5 years. In that game all releases are global, so no clairvoyance for anyone. The most you get in FEH is a monthly schedule which specifies when are events and banners coming, but with zero details regarding maps/characters featured in banners/etc. So now that I'm here and experiencing what it's like to be 6 months behind... I kinda get your point. I'm not a competitive player, but I enjoy the suprise factor, even if its objectively bad from a resource management perspective. It's hard to get hyped for stuff you already knew was coming 6 months ago.
Well i want the EN events to stay in that six month gap from the CN events, so that i could prepare for lore accurate runs for the future event (Unless they are main story)
I also play fgo and genshin. Fgo's two year clairvoyance is huge blessing and curse. For arknights I'm okay with the 6 month wait but I would definitely want to catch more than I'd like to fall behind
Agree maybe maybe we slowly catch up to like 3 months ? That's practically not happening cause now we're like 7 months behind Oop. I think why I want ak to catch up cause ak it's a chill pve game and I can practically clear all story mode with the units I have so even if they released an op unit I can still use the units that was powercreep in the new story/modes so I really REALLY hope they will catch up but it's just wishful thinking now...
While I so hate spoilers and knowing about some key events that happen later on ruins the surprise, it is in my humble opinion that catching up to CN is a bad idea. In order to catch up, some events will either have to be skipped or crammed too close each other. Plus, being able to see who will come out ahead of time gives the ability to plan on which operators one should give priority over. I know Magia Record did catch up and fans hated it. Though that game also suffered from a small player base and not enough revenue. I know Azur Lane did catch up and is still running, though I hear there was a lot of down time already for them to do it and still the fans told the deca to slow down the acceleration. Arknights being behind is fine. I currently like the pace at which we are going and would prefer it if we stayed the course.
There are pros and cons to it. But since it's not like Global is ever going to catch up to CN anyway, there is no point to worry about it. Also, most players aren't impacted by it much. And if any, it's in positive way of being able to save up. It's probably different for hardcores and content creators. I can image how much it would suck to be behind since I was playing hardcore some other games in the pass. But this is just a problem of small minority of players. It might be a vocal minority but minority nonetheless.
Honestly, it's why trying to evade CN spoilers when possible might help one's experience. It sure made my IS2 experience way more surprising. When even songs get spoiled so far in advance, it can really crush hype. I personally don't look when I can for that reason, or if friends shove it my way I try reading it as little as possible. This is unviable for people planning ahead for banners, or developing a strat for high risk day 1 CC, or even just gorging on delicious lore. And yeah I probably sound hypocritical when I've OD'd on Rhine Lab lore in preparation for Dorothy's Vision myself, but still... Sometimes you have to not look. Embracing spoilers too much will kill your interest exactly as described in the video. Hopefully you can preserve that sense of wonder at something "new" one way or another...
I think the main issue I have with, and I had this when EN AK first started and we were "rushing", was the fact that if we were to go on a accelerated schedule, HG is unlikely to compensate us for it. Like okay assume we try to rush through the 6 (actually soon to be 7) months of content that we are behind on, HG is unlikely to compensate us enough for that rush in a sufficient manner. At best I'd expect 3-4 multi rolls and a week or two of sanity pots, neither which would come close to the actual gains those 6-7 months would have. Beyond just less rolls and overall sanity you would have less LMD , EXP , Recruit, etc. There is also the fact that they would have to SOMEHOW pull forward various limited banners. This would exacerbate the problem players would have with "not having enough rolls for characters they want". Basically if HG decides to rush, unless they compensate fairly, it will be an extremely painful transition for EN as they wouldn't just be losing their clairvoyance but also might just get shafted in the transition. I have heard that another game published by Yostar , Azur Lane, also was behind the main servers before catching up however I do not know How that happened or player reaction to it, so i can't comment about it and if that would be a solution AK could take. (Edit: note that I am not as well versed in Dev v Publisher control over rushing / compensation so if HG isn't responsible for deciding to rush / compensation then my bad about it.)
Former Azur lane player who was playing when the accelerated hit it was hell the main reason it wasn't massively panned or needed really good compensation is rolls in Azur lane are plentiful since there money making is from skins but it was still hell having 3 back to back good banners only a week apart.
in the Fate franchise, clairvoyance is a skill that a servant can have to determine a possible future. The skills have levels depending on how strong they are. Something like dex can have levels E to S or even EX. FGO NA server is lagging 2 years from the JP server, so the community said that we have Clairvoyance EX you can say Arknights have Clairvoyance A
That's why it's called Clairvoyance EX(E). EX means unknown or something beyond comprehension but it can still categorized with power scale. For us f2p pleb most of us using Clairvoyance EX (E) knowing our future event but can't predict beyond that (gacha pull results, bug, and etc)
I am f2p and started around October, playing very casually (only one E2 level casual.) Your video on who was coming in the future was very helpful to me since I usually love trap mechanics in games, so saving for Dorothy was a no brainier for me. I just wish she would come sooner gosh dang it.
The only reason I'm not going "Competitive" (As trying to beat records) is because: - Too many elitists - Burns the game for me - My 'skill' gets measured in terms of what I use or what I don't - it's a gacha. My opinion tho, whatever people finds 'fun' to play with they should just do it without caring what others think. But I've found sooo many people with "Oh, you used X? I cleared it with only birds", "I did it without tanks and only 5 ops", "oh you beat the map! Oh but you used all 10 deployments..." and such remarks 'degrading' my playstyle and clears *EVERY DISCORD* or Arknights Community server I join so... I'll just go "haha my flint goes brrrrr".
Big agree, Mr. Yii Arknights. I don't even sweat as profusely as you do with your (very cool and definitely worth watching) Yato sweep, but I would feel a lot better if we got content at the same time as CN. I don't like knowing about all of it so far in advance. It makes me enjoy what we have in the meantime less (Example: IS#2 vs. IS#3), and it makes me less excited for the new content whenever it finally does arrive.
Speaking from experience with touou lw: the delay is refreshing and is not burning me out, this is a welcoming change of pace. I disagree with you on having both catchup to the same schedule just due to personal gripes, but i can definitely understand why anyone would want to catch up, Im excited for texalter!
For me the hype comes from knowing what I want and getting it when I want and not always having fomo, clairvoyance is in the grand scheme of things, is alot alot better In almost every situation except stuff like competition on clears, theory crafting and a few other more niche options imo
The hype thing is up to the event to do it for me. If it isn't good then it isn't hyping me up. It's only Nearl Alter's event that hyped me up the most in the game so far. The story is simpler than most and Kazimierz is such an interesting place for a setting. Also NTR's animated video does still hype me up to this day.
Other than high-risk competition, I agree with all of these. The great thing about clairvoyance EX is that you can see everything coming; the bad thing about clairvoyance EX is that you've already seen everything coming.
Yeah as much as I enjoy Yii’s content, if it’s a choice between having 6 months to plan my rolls or making some try hard happy I’m keeping the 6 months.
I'd be fine catching up to get the feeling of experiencing new content and units along with the rest of the world, but only if Arknights wasn't a gacha game. The fact that you have a limited time to get a certain number of pulls to spend on a limited duration banner only to find out you'd rather have pulled on the next banner sucks. I also play Genshin and there's a reason I spend more time in the leaks subreddit than the normal one. With how long it takes to build up pulls without spending, I don't want to find out the newly released character just isn't as worth it or as interesting as the next. In short, I'd much rather have the 6 month buffer and just try to stay spoiler free than be concerned if I should save or pull.
its especially important with the new module system coming cause how rare module recourses are people can easily screw themselves by maxing a op worse module
I'd love if we could catch up too. I do feel like we have been getting closer, but we need that last spurt to bridge the gap. Maybe if we could combo it with half costs/double rewards :') It's not like there's anything stopping them from adjusting the numbers.

I heard that global its slowly catching up to the cn content to close the gap, i'm not sure how much it would take though, but i understand the reason of this video. So i am a fan of Reed since a year ago, i E2 her and used her (even though most people would use vigna instead) and i read her lore and such and i was like "dam, one day you will get an alter, i'm sure of it" because i knew she had the potential to get an alter. Days passed and in the CN it is announced, Reed Alter, the event and such (which i haven't watched anything of the event yet to hide myself from spoilers) and i was happy, and since i knew she will come 6 months into global i am starting to save up to get her, but that also means that I have to wait half a year to get a chance to get her. So personally, i would love to see global catching up to CN content
Tbh this issue also added into people not going indepth discussion about operator and strategy thus mostly just goes "oh someone did it so just follow"
I'm pretty happy with the clairvoyance buff personally, if anything because planning ahead saves a lot of money and resources, and it gives me ample time to speculate on stories before they actually release (or to prepare my rope and chair when Abyssal Hunters part 3 gets announced because screw that heap of not very good content). I guess I'm just noth bothered as much by the hype dying ou in the 6 months long gap.
Man I had high hopes of catching up to CN when during the first year or so EN went from being 6 months behind to 5 months behind. And then we went back to being 6 months behind and that made me sad.
I feel like we are slowly catching up. Although I could see them possibly moving certain things like module upgrades earlier. Which could definitely lead to a lot of interesting things
We’ve actually slowed down quite a bit recently, from 6 months to 7 months behind essentially. This could be a fluctuation in release cycle though. Although, module upgrades is coming out Tuesday as scheduled, it’s not any earlier than expected.
I'm that one guy who more impressed by risk 18 afk clear instead of max risk with a lot of tricks or frame perfect clutches, Unless the max risk is also afk clear
At this point, I'd be fine with the catch-up schedule. I usually save my Orundum for the Limited Banners because they are the most generous and I can hypothetically get any other operator at any other time. Also, the game gives you enough operators where raising each one for kicks takes a while (and raising any to be competitive even longer). Even if the schedule was closer, I'd be fine with. Six months is great for planning, but it's terrible for hype. One or two months would be better. That said, I think the Gap has gotten shorter. I believe it used to be like 8 or 9 months instead of 6?
Yostar actually did this with Azur Lane where they made EN to catchup JP server and it wasn't a good experience mostly because of PR which is basicaly a timegated system and really important if you are an end game player.Arknights doesn't have anything like that but it does so many banners to catch up which neither good for f2p or whales.
They rapid fire of the event and we nearly didn't catch a break lol. But we can do a gradual acceleration of event like for next 2 years EN has to do it in 1.5 years. It's still pretty controversial though if you ask me.
The wait is always the most hated part of clairvoyance since its 9-10 months behind CN for me all the hype would just be consumed during the waits, especially when you understand chinese, and knowing about whats happening on CN server but I aint complaining tho, I could easily save up for any operator I want during the long period of time
2:42 wow that's just like how i feel, in MaNknights (global) there's Zanelao but he MAINLY does perma map ccs and that's it, very rarely he does other things we also had アークナイツ男道【Arknights Male】but he quit, returned around cc#8 and quit for real once again halfway through cc#9 If we put those 2 (who are far better players than i am) aside, it leaves me with mostly nothing but people playing casually even if they did play MaN only. I say mostly because back around the end of cc#7 (iirc?) i found Satsumalao (いもの倉庫), a jp male only player that also does cc dailies (who as you could probably guess, flies under the radar and was getting single digit views at the time) and it really made me happy as it was the first time i can compare my clears to another player, learn from him things i couldn't think of before or could do better and see what i did better, etc. I literally went back and watched every one of his clears after cc#7 ended just to compare how both of us tackled the different risks from operators to general strategies and stuff, it was really refreshing. Competition is just very nice to have and it's something that's VERY lacking in global servers especially since barely anyone even does nicheknights, we're the minority and it's sad. Although I did find like 2 more MaNknights players through Satsumalao's twitter, yes I literally mainly made a twitter account to follow him as just having his youtube videos of the clears, be it cc dailies or other event stages just wasn't enough interaction for me Currently how it goes is either one of us does a clear and optimization process starts from there, be it less ops or a completely different strategy. When I first found him he didn’t focus on optimizing much but I can definitely see that has changed over the course of the 2 ccs since then, and I like to believe it’s because he also found someone to compete with. Cc#9 for example where I couldn’t participate thanks to assignments and exams I can see that he’s trying a lot harder than he used to just to one up himself and that makes me happy Now just imagine if we also had CN server with all its players in the mix where everyone is trying to one up each other, at the same time, god it would be so fucking amazing but with this scheduling we can only COPE
Also a little fun fact, when I looked at H10-1 I saw there was no MaN clear whatsoever on arkrec so I optimized one of the cn clears that wasn’t up there (probably cause it was a full team so didn’t submit) to lower operators (8 ops) just to get it up there for cn players to one up me cause they have better operators Thanks to also having a cn account despite being way behind on raising MaN ops than my en account, thanks to having the better operators I already have a rough idea (according to my testing) for 6 operators but have to wait until we get vigil on en for that🙃gotta love waiting half a year to even attempt it
I think they know that catching the game up would make more money, but i dont think they have the ability to run the server at the same time as CN(Translation issues, skill descriptipn issues still exist even with the 6 month gap lol) So i dont ever see them catching the game up unless they expand the team for EN/KR/JP
As a new player (think my account is like a month old) I can't really chime in on this since I still have so much to go through. I only just made it to 4-1 after all. But it would be cool to get events around the same time as cn so we could all experience it together.
Also some fun stuff I suppose. I had this idea suggested to YS that to catch up YS only need to bring the CN contents into EN straight away(translated of course), skipping all the events CN had but yet to come to global. Then when CN has reruns YS can pull out those unran events in the stead of CN reruns. Of course YS didn't have any reason to catch up. I do believe YS can easily translate those events as long as HG cooperates(trust me when I say translating is so much easier than writing), it's just they simply don't wanna catch up because idk extra cash sucks or something.
i mean of they wanted to have the servers catch up they'd just eliminate dead weeks, we were actually only 5 months behind at one point but fallen back to 6 due to dead weeks
Hype is overrated. The only thing that matters is whether or not the content is good, fun to play, and rewarding. If anything, not being hyped to the max means you can actually plan ahead and figure out what is or isn't worth it for you while buffering the FOMO that happens with every limited operator banner.
Honestly considering I might be a decade into gacha games now,(I can't really remember when AGG released but I was part of the "original gacha vets" that lived through the hellish nightmare of "gen 1" gacha games) it's always interesting to see 2 sides of an "argument". Communities that have clairvoyance wanting to catch up to the original server and remove the clairvoyance just to have the excitement of experiencing things the same time as the other servers. And on the other side of the "argument" is games like Genshin where leakers are treated as messiahs by a significant part of the community(even though they are the same people "damaging" the hype by leaking "too much" such as story outline and such). At the end of the day hoarders will be hoarders regardless if there are clairvoyance or not.
@@narius_jaden215 roadmaps do exist for gacha games, just not the ultra detailed roadmap players tend to want. Like if you watch most end of the year stream of gacha games they show their "roadmap" for the coming year. Content gaps or as most people call it; "dead weeks" are a necessary evil for all gacha games, putting out events left and right is the easiest and fastest way to tire out your entire playerbase. Like people like to complain they "burn out" of gacha games when they have nothing to do(Genshin best example) not realizing how tiring the polar opposite is(FGO lotto events specifically best example)

Edit: On this note, its sadly proven that even with the Theorycrafted scenario of Max Risk CC#9 by the CN players THAT ALSO DECIDED TO HELP OUT, *none of them managed to do it in the end.* Pause Trick being the core of pretty much all theory-scenario, and with it missing on non-CN client, *becomes the Achilles Heel* This makes CC#9 and CC Beta the only non-maxxable CC to ever run, possibly forever since the current CC system will be overhauled, and there is NO CC rerun. Yeah, the only case of a Clairvoyance *fail*
@@mpt7295 we got the short end of the stick for that one If only we ever got Skalter before CC#5, Risk 32 can be achieved. Because i think on CN its Under Tides and then CC#5. Global got it flipped over
there's a simple fix for that. Just make a CN account and play there. no one forces you to constantly watch over the CN server and read about the new events/ops
I feel like no pause trick in global is worth a mention in clairvoyance vids, a lot of nicheknights and high risk clears don’t work at all without tool assistance (basically cheating). When I see a CN autodeploy of a sick relay its hype, when I see a global autodeploy of a sick relay I think autohotkey lol no shot people playing frame perfect arknights with no pause

What I do to deal with this is simply playing both. I have my EN account, the original, which I take seriously and where I plan ahead, and the CN account, where I just play chill and without a single bit of care about saving or whatnot and where I can experience the content first hand. It's basically having the advantages of both with none of the downside. I also can just go from one account to the other when I'm out of sanity, so I can just keep playing.
Fun fact : the term clairvoyance as used here comes from the FGO community. Clairvoyance is a skill in the Fate universe and FGO Global is 2 years behind FGO JP, so FGO players jokingly call that "Clairvoyance rank EX"
Clairvoyance is the reason I stop playing F/GO NA and start playing JP cz NA is behind like 2 years, but nowdays F/GO NA release some major feature earlier so that's cool maybe gonna play CN Arknights too or not
I'm with you there. I used to like clairvoyance but after having it for 3 years of playing gacha with it while being engaged in game communities, I'd prefer being as hype as everyone else.
I don't really get the 6 months to prepare thing. Even if players didn't have clairvoyance, they would still save pulls months beforehand anyway, it's just common sense not to spend premium currency anyhow. Especially if you're a F2P that focuses on limited banners. The six month gap also just splits the hype of the game overall, like having a birthday party in two different places at the same time. What I'm saying is, align the freaking sui sibling events to be actually during lunar new year instead of being in the middle of the year ffs.
And there is also the forgotten TW server, which is basically a year behind CN, as someone who plays both, it really is a whole different game..... tw server ain't even got purestream yet despite we're almost at Guiding ahead event, nobody know where is our beloved dolphin...
I personally don't pull for the operators I want. I just get my guaranteed 5* or 6* operator that comes within first 10 pulls and leave with that. The only exception is limited banners, where I usually manage to save around 30-50 pulls and then I finally revenge for all those months of self control and get some 4*, 5* and 6* operators that I had not, sometimes including the ones that I didn't manage to get in guaranteed 10 pulls when they were out. Yeah, there's lot of satisfaction at these moments
