Abused Benadryl as a kid because of extremely severe allergies and it gave me terribly trippy “naps/dreams” that still haunt some of my nightmares now, and contributed to a lot of my irrational phobias and sensory issues (feeling tingles, pinching and odd pain just under my skin)

I accidentally tripped on dph after drinking because it was cold, I had a runny nose, and I didn’t read the label on the bottle since I never thought much of allergy pills. My vision became yellow tinted and there were centipedes and spiders everywhere in my room. Everything started to sound distorted and it literally felt like I was in hell. Probably one of the scariest experiences in my entire life.

lmfao ive done that on accident as well. i drank a whole big bottle of zzzquil (diphenhydramine, literally just liquid benadryl that tastes like nyquil) and the same shit happened to me. weird thing is, though, the insects didnt really scare me. i managed to keep my grip on reality and after smacking one of the spiders that crawled up my arm, my hand went right through it. it was at that moment i knew i was just tripping and somehow ended up more fascinated than horrified. i also hallucinated half of the people i went to high school with, in my bedroom. had full on conversations with people i never talked to, and somehow my twacked out subconcious produced a perfect image of these people despite never talking to them. i then saw my stepdad beat one if my friends up so i went to the laundry room to get a towel to “clean up the blood”, then proceeded to use that towel as a pillow despite the fact i had like 3 on my bed. very strange experience indeed.

Did you have allergies? If so, 2 pills is not child abuse, its the remedy. Is there any evidence to back up the assumption that your symptoms are due to long term use or just allergies in general? Or perhaps you just are prone to those symptoms? I used to read the side affects on every medication I had and until I just let it all go, I used to believe I had the very symptoms far more often than was normal. Take everything with a grain of salt. If it is due to that, it would be highly unlikely, but I feel for you if so.s

Yeah, spiders and whispers for sure… piles of laundry standing up and walking out of the room, talking to mumbling shadows, it’s literally like making yourself experience psychosis.. used to take Benadryl and NO2 together, fished out a couple times and woke up in a dystopian nightmare, awfully fun and scary at the same time imo. I was in a very dark place in my 20s when I abused every substance I could get my hands on. The hallucinations ended up lasting for a day or two after some heavy heavy doses and shocked me out of the pattern of abuse. I eventually stumbled into a better place by finding new people and influences that made life worth living and haven’t been back to the Benadryl hole since.

It temporarily traumatized my little brother who found me in that crazy state, seeing my reacting to in my perspective being consumed by a horrific monster my brain conjured. It was 4 days straight of the full hallucinations, but over a week of spiders and bugs EVERYWHERE. I apparently took a near lethal dose, I still have nightmares of repressed memory’s due to it. And honestly, if you want to get high, there is so many better drugs out there, and they are not at all hard to get. Literally just ask around, asking if someone has a weed dealer, and then asking that dealer if they know where to get harder stuff is the easiest way to get harder stuff. Anything is better than DPH. I would hear voices all around me and see black shadows constantly in my peripheral vision. In East Europe, as a result of cheap chemical plants located in Asia, (mostly China) There is a huge amount of 'research chemicals' floating around. Especially of the NBOMe type. 25I-NBOMe, 25B-NBOMe, and 25C-NBOMe. NBOMe compounds are ultrapotent and highly efficacious agonists of serotonin 5-HT2A and 5-HT2C receptors, you'll be tripping HARD and compared to LSD it's a very very similar experience, but doesn't feel as clean. Worse, though, are psychedelic amphetamines like DOB. Dimethoxybromoamphetamine was the worst experience i have ever had in my entire life, and if I were some sick fvkc who tortured people, it would be my weapon of choice. MYSELF and everyone i have ever seen take DOB has gone into severe and lasting psychosis, and when i say lasting i mean months. I couldn't use my brain at it's full capacity for at minimum 3 months, but it feels more like 8, now that its so long ago... All this to say, I have met and known many of your empty epiphany false prophets. The last one I allowed to know me, he ended up drinking anti-freeze in a fit of drug educed psychosis. [Educed not induced because he was prone to psychosis anyway.] Did not die, but was in fact, a terrible person on or off drugs... Can't help but wonder what his personality could've been without all the amphetamines he did. I never saw crystal methamphetamine before meeting Josh. Just switch to a prescription sleeping pill, they are so much safer and actually meant for long term use. Personally a low dose of trazadone has served me well the past few years. I also have insomnia, and my doctor has told me that Benadryl is ok to use on a limited basis, but should not be taken every night. IIRC, anticholinergic drugs work by decreasing your cognitive function, which is good in the short term to promote sleep, but over time can cause more persistent cognitive impairment. Memory loss seems to be an issue with long-term use of most sleep-promoting substances, but some are worse than others. I use high doses of cannabis. It's expensive, but for me it has the strongest effect with the least amount of side effects.

I do know that Xanax does cause short-term memory loss and I am going through that I'm 58 now so I'm going to be talking to my doctor about trying to wean me off of it I'm scared because three or four days without sleep you feel like you're going psychotic which I have after not sleeping for four or five days and I don't want to go through that but I do realize the damage that the Xanax and the Benadryl are doing to my brain after watching the video I'm very grateful for this video because I had no idea that Benadryl could do this

A medical doctor will never recommend it but look into CBD or Cannabis there are many products on the market today that have nothing to do with smoking weed and some even don't really give you a high there's no chance of overdose and the worst short term side effects are you might get hungry or aroused long term maybe you develop memory loss issues but that's debated and I've been playing with Marijuana for years now after taking anything and everything to deal with sleeping disorders and this is my miracle drug

The "eh this drug sucks" and "light recreational use" entries are more than likely the levels of DPH addiction. So you try it, it sucks. Then you try it again and it's okay, so you do it every now and again. This progresses (obviously bc DPH is addictive) until you're a vegetable who can't remember shit. However, brain damage and long term side effects can occur from NORMAL usage as well AKA "Therapeutic" doses. DPH is a horrible drug y'all. If you do try it, please be safe and drink lots of water.

I almost forgot about this brief period of my life. I used to describe this type of trip as "Dreaming With Your Eyes Open". Although the trip was sometimes far more intense than LSD, there was NEVER any sort of Euphoria or sensations of "Enlightenment". It was empty, colorless, and void of all emotion or intellect at all. The girl who got me into it would often refer to "waking up", referring to the successive times that one would seem to "wake up" from whatever dream you may have just been in. But this waking up was not like coming out of a trip. It was only transitioning from one dream-scape to the next. One consistent experience that we both had, which was not mentioned in the video was the ability to see through solid objects, and "Dream Sharing" between others that you may be tripping with. I only did it with one other person than her, and that friend said that he never wanted to ever do it again. I don't think that we had a "bad" trip. But it was a very confusing day for both of us, and it felt like getting stuck in a never-ending dreary day. I think that was the last time that I did it as well. I honestly don't know how someone could actually "enjoy" doing it. The first time I did it I was also on LSD. That was how I met this girl (at a Grateful Dead concert). She just walked up to me and asked if I wanted to trip. I was already tripping on Acid, so it seemed like a perfectly logical thing to do (plus, she was cute). But then she handed me six pills. I didn't know that Acid came in pills (because that's what I thought she meant), but I took them without asking any questions anyway. We then got "stuck" in the bathroom of a 24-hour chicken & waffles restaurant, just staring at the spiders coming out of the filth in-between the tiles of the bathroom walls. I really have no idea how long we were in there, or how we got out. I guess the addition of the LSD and being with this girl made that trip less "dreary" and emotionless than a "normal" DPH trip. But the few times I did it after that, was not really enjoyable at all. At best, it was merely interesting. But for that entire period that I was with that girl doing DPH, it seemed like the sun never came out, and it was always cold & wet. Like being in that movie "River's Edge". I do not recommend it to anyone. (Although I know saying something like that can create intrigue - it seriously is like stepping into a freakin' horror movie. There are far better ways to trip.)

@@GTMSGAMES - Yeah. When I was stuck in the bathroom with that girl, at one point, I realized that I could see the pattern of the pajama pants I was wearing under my jeans (it was a hippy thing in the 90s). I was like "Whoa! Do you see that!?", and she perfectly described the pattern that she and I could both see THROUGH the jeans. And the pattern moved as I moved the material, so it wasn't something I was seeing in my vision OVER the jeans, it was literally the pattern underneath. She then asked me what her shirt said under her sweater, and I was able to see the design and read the shirt even though I hadn't seen it yet. Another time, when I was driving her car through the mountains of Tennessee, she was nodded out on DPH in the front passenger seat, and started mumbling something like, "No, you can't do that!" I asked what she meant. She said, "You can't drive through the middle of the Taco Bell"... I kinda laughed cuz I thought she was just dreaming something. Almost immediately after that, I drove around a bend in the road through the mountains, and there, just off the highway, was a Taco Bell. And the way the road was shaped, the exit was directly in front of us, and if I had just driven straight, instead of following the curve of the road, I would have driven straight through the middle of the Taco Bell... Very Weird Indeed.

Shadow people and Hatman can show up when functioning on very little sleep for extended periods of time. I saw plenty when I was pulling 75-80 hour weeks at Coca-Cola, and that was Mon-Fri I got weekends off. Shadow people are a really weird thing to see, once you see one you suddenly start seeing more. And when you make it obvious you've seen/noticed them, they suddenly start to notice you too. Feeling them stare at you is so creepy too. Hatman was weird for me though. Always saw him at a distance and only ever outside. Usually just sent a shiver up my spine (definitely up my spine and not down) but sometimes filled me with dread making me stay inside and away from the windows. I don't smoke, drink or do any sorta drugs. Sleep deprivation is not recommended, and anything that causes hallucinations is usually a bad idea. Don't go looking for Shadow people. I use to take DXM when I was 14-15 years old. Me and a friend did it almost every day for a few months and watch the movie Constantine. Thats until another kid came over and wanted to take them with us and overdosed and went into a seizure. We all 3 ended up in the hospital because when my friends mom was driving him home she began yelling at him and the anxiety of what happened plus his mom yelling made him think he was having a heart attack. I guess he told them I had taken them too because when my parents and I was in bed cops showed up and forced me to go to the hospital where they lied to try to scare me. They told me the kid who had the seizure might not make it that my friend was going into heart surgery and I was going to most likely have a seizure as well. I knew both me and my friend would be fine because I took 8 and he took 10 and we both ate 16 each the previous night. I quit doing it after all that and the few times I've tried doing it since it just made me feel like crap! It use to be kinda like a speedy trippy feeling but I would just get sleepy and feel sick when I tried it again a few years later. I had some amazing experiences on DXM that nothing I've ever tried since came close to it. I have wanted to feel that way again for a very long time but I know there is no point in trying it, I've tried I think like 4 times and just felt crappy every time. Even if I take it as directed I end up feeling sick, I think my body just has a bad reaction to it after doing it too much. I had something very similar happen with alcohol, anytime I try to drink after a half a beer or a shot I'll get sour stomach, hot flashes and a headache.

Chubbyemu has at least one video recounting the effects of dph overdose on the body. He also has a video on dextromethorphan, which was mentioned as well. Though benadryl is not meant to be used as a sleeping aid, years ago my dad's primary care doctor repeatedly suggested he use it for such, assuring us it was safe, and my family had to deal with my dad developing a minor dependence on it. This was incredibly frustrating as my dad had dementia and was a kidney transplant recipient, so he was in no position to be experiencing any further confusion from its drowsy effects, or potentially toxic doses of anything. My dad was also prescribed amitriptyline by this doctor for his mood. Both benadryl and amitriptyline are anticholinergics that are associated to increased dementia risk and activity! They were actively making his brain function worse. We were able to fix the dependency by having his medication reviewed and adjusted with a pharmacist and his transplant team, which helped some with his sleep patterns as well, but I still hold a grudge against that doctor for contributing to my dad's decline.

I used to trip on DPH a lot when I was younger. I’d take 2 boxes of 20 50mg pills and towards the end my body would start retching as soon as I put the first pills in my mouth, it was like my body was begging me not to do it again. I remember that the first symptom before the full hallucinations would kick in was seeing these jelly spiders all over the walls. Then the invisible people would turn up, but by that point the dissociation was so bad I didn’t know I’d taken anything or that I was tripping or who I was. It was always a distinctly unpleasant experience, a very ‘dirty’ high. I was a smoker, and I would often have ‘ghost cigarettes’ appear in my hands - they weren’t real, but I could see them, then I would think I’d dropped them and panic that I was going to burn the house down. My legs would also tend to go numb and take on a blue tinge; I’ve now heard about a lot of people who have died due to their hearts giving out under the influence or shortly after; I guess it’s really hard on your heart, which makes a lot of sense and lines up with the symptoms I experienced. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it, even if you’re someone who likes hallucinogenic substances. If you’re just looking to get high, seek out weed. Honestly I think no drug is worth it, but if you’re determined, then that is a far better option. If you can get a clean supply, almost any of your ‘classic’ safer drugs would be a better option; pot, x, murhrooms, acid. DPH isn’t safe, it isn’t pleasant, it isn’t fun, it isn’t an eye-opening or spiritual experience. Because it’s a dissociative deliriant, many people have wound up in the hospital, after worrying family and friends and being fully incapable of saying that they’d taken such-and-such, and completely impossible to calm down. Sometimes they’d get violent or just do stuff that was dangerous.

43 minute mark; this is true, this is what it’s like, I’ve never heard it described from someone else. One thing missing is what I call “the mumble”; the apparitions you see are indistinguishable from actual people, and when you speak to them in a normal tone your voice roars in your own ears (this didn’t happen with real people I spoke to). I was diagnosed as full blown paranoid schizophrenic for a full three days, I’ve experienced LSD and shrooms after this incident and they are laughable in comparison, like comparing SpongeBob to Saving Private Ryan. The worst part is, it happened to me unintentionally, as I was still a kid and had no idea what to expect and I didn’t even know what a high was. If you’re one of these “edgy” kids who think that talking about this stuff like it’s going to earn scene points or make you intriguing, you are wrong; where I went for three days is something I wouldn’t even wish on a war criminal or even Vlad Tepes himself. Struggling for every thought and word, forgetting what I'm talking about a word or two in, and then panicking as i try to not sound like an insane person to whoever I was talking to, it felt like trying to run through waist high mud. SCARY.

I'm a weed lightweight, lol, and it felt very much like one of the times I forgot to pace myself as the bong got passed around, and I went from being giggly-stoned to feeling like total crap. That was only from 4 pills. I can't begin to imagine doing actual high doses of allergy meds. I DON'T recommend. I was able to tame it a bit thru downing 2 or 3 glasses of water.

the brain is constantly scanning for threats, including vermin, and 'sees' them everywhere but doesn't usually report the false threats, except for example when you're startled by a spider and then realize it's a leaf - some drugs reveal that process (e.g. many years ago on LSD, I could watch random noise and see the patterns my brain was constantly trying to make out)

@skyeparker1333

The eerie similarity between The Screwtape Letters and the Hatman story make me think that the Hatman is probably an actual Biblical demon that people are able to perceive when in the dangerously suggestible altered mind state of heavy delirium brought on by tripping on DPH. Like the drug is a sneak-peek preview into Actual Hell and the Hatman is literally Satan incarnate (or a lesser demon) in the way it seems to not be able to touch or control you physically but only watch you menacingly, but can also mess with you in many other unknown scary hellish psychological ways through the nightmarish hallucinations. Like where acid and mushrooms can by very spiritually religious experiences that many people say is like witnessing God, DPH is the opposite side of the coin where many people could say it was like witnessing Satan. Idk, this is just speculation. But it's videos like these that make me viscerally feel in my soul that I need to stay away from DPH because it feels against God. I pray that myself you all would would learn from the nightmare description of this video and never try DPH in the first place. But I understand there will be a number of people that are intrigued by this video and will unfortunately end up having to learn that lesson the hard way, and I pray that they would learn it quick without tragic levels of literal brainrot by spiritual demons. Stay safe and trust in Jesus Christ and soon your soul will feel the light of God and you will not be tempted by demonic drugs like DPH. God bless!

I took benadryl to help sleep one night, then the next morning, I had an unknown allergic reaction (weird bumps and hives on my legs and arms). I took another dose after breakfast, and it sent me to the hospital. My limbs were very shaky. I was scared because I thought I was going to have an epileptic seizure - something that I've never experienced. My thoughts were also muddied and dark. Some were suicidal, some were about me running away out of the emergency room, and some were borderline psychotic. It also sounded like I heard static in the background the while time. After I woke up from this state, I kept this secret to myself. After that, I've never touched benadryl again. This was back in fall of 2023.

This video is really well done. It’s horrifying yet truthful enough to hopefully spread awareness. When I was in a really bad place, I would take about 5-6 to have a deep sleep because it was something I struggled with and I liked the “lightweight” feeling. One night I took too much and almost felt like I was falling. I would wake up in a panic and it felt like someone was there. Like I swear I could hear someone talking to me but nobody was there. And in the corners of my vision I would see the little blobs of movement (spiders). Luckily I didn’t see anything too horrifying but that was enough for me to stop.

I woke up the next day sitting upright on my couch with an empty plate on my lap and another empty plate on the floor. I didn't know what that was all about but I figured it out later when I got on Facebook. Apparently I had made two taco salads from scratch and with all the fixings. Then I took pictures of them and posted them on Facebook. I wish I could remember eating them because they looked pretty damn good.

I dont remember if it was a suicide attempt or not. When i awoke it was evening the next day. Apparently i had walked out of my room naked and i was talking gibberish, apparently i got scared of a non-existent spider at one point. And dont even get me started on the shaking. I couldnt hold a glass of water to take a drink. I only know this because my parents had to take care of me like a baby that day, and they told me about the things i did. I remember nothing from that day. I'm almost 20 now and i still get tremors sometimes. I dont know how many memories I lost that day. Sometimes i wish it had killed me, but it didn't. I had a ton of experience with these and it's a pretty dirty drug. You get extremely sick before anything kicks in, roll of the dice as to what happens next. I was kinda lucky to only have a few minor incidents, its no surprise people get hurt since you're entirely out of it and don't feel pain. It's been many years, but I remember thinking I was in a party boat lounge room when really I was lost on the staircase. One time I was in the rainforest except it was my friends closet. While binging wilfred seasons 1-3 I began thinking my entire life was just a dark comedy reality TV show and the directors were about to show themselves like Truman show. I was devastated to realize my life was in fact NOT an elaborate joke. Somehow always picked both the worst and best movies, like Enter the void, the conspiracy theorist and John dies at the end. I mostly like to talk about all the dumb and funny stuff from my past, but those were dark times and I could've ended up in a bad spot. Anyone thinking of doing this stuff needs help, prob have some deep issues going on.

I’m not a druggie nor some Creepypasta bro, but I’ve had to stop using Benadryl when i have allergies in late summer because I would have really vivid and sometimes nightmarish dreams. Some were silly like it being 90 degrees in reality but i was dreaming I was playing Fallout New Vegas in a Blizzard, but there was one that kept me up all night Afterwards. There was a girl i was aware of in Highschool, a floozy, always in trouble, trailer trash. I knew she existed but l mainly kept to myself in school because I hated the cliques. Anyway, a decade later, i took some allergy meds after my allergies started getting really bad. That night, I had a dream where this girl found me at my house and was knocking at my door. I open it, confused as to what was going on, and get broadsided by a baseless and false accusation of sexual misconduct from a highschool party i never attended. I deny it, but before i can shut the door, I get ambushed by a film crew from a True Crime tv show who essentially shove their way into my house. That was a bizarre trip. Hope it never happens again.

I had a haunting for 6 months in my house in Oklahoma. It started after I messed with a ouija board. Also, the lady I was dating at the time said she had a demon that she communicated regularly with. (Pretty red flag lol). So, I lived with my cousin at the time and it was smaller track home from the 60s with a crawl space and a crappy attic. I also had two dogs, Embyr and Elliot (toy aussie & greyhoud lab). Well, after messing around with the ouija board, things got really really weird. I noticed small things at first. Books would fall off the shelves and I would hear bumbs in the night. Eventually, around 3:30 it got bad enough, I felt compelled to "clear" the house with my gun and a flashlight in my underwear. I didn't see anything but my dogs, who were normally in my room, were shaking dramatically in the furthest corner of the house. I invited them to my bed and we stayed awake watching the hall from my bed all night. Well, this type of stuff went on for a few weeks, on and off. In the mean time, the strangest things occured over the next few weeks. I had walked to my back yard from the ktichen once and called for my dogs, they were gone. I looked behind me and every single drawer and cupboard door was open and a strange feeling of like emptiness or distance from the house happened. I would walk to that same door again the next week and there at leat a thousand crows in my back yard. not a sound was made. they just stared. I walked out and the just sort of cleared a way. I went to tell someone and I think later they were just gone. My dogs were usually missing. I knew them to sometimes escape over the fence. After that, I would come home to them in the crawl space, in the deepest part of it. Also, just staring at me. Like it makes me shiver thinking about going in there with a dim flashlight and calling them over and over just to see their poorly lit faces just glaring at me. I loved those dogs, but damn it just hit me. They would go down there alot. Like they were watching for something , It seemed to glow red down there one day. I opened the plywood door to take another look and there were my dogs again. But, there were some bones. larger but I never did follow up on the one I got a hold of. Well. At any rate, the mood was tense as of the 3rd week or so of this type of stuff. I was constantly waking up at 3:20-3:30am. Always something bumping. Not to mention a book was tossed across the room one time. Hell, I had 3 different people walk in there and each one said it was haunted without any coaxing or previous talk. I showed my house to one of the three and could literally see my own breathe in the heat of June. I hate that my screen flickers while I type this. I am not someone, by the way, that had taken any drugs. I'm a hypochondriac and two ibuprofen knock me out. So anyway, So I wake up again one night. This time its different. I feel controlled by some sort of feeling. Like a straight jacket of my emotions as I space out staring at the hallway. Then suddenly it was as though a man appeared in the doorway. I was frightened so much without fear. A tall man, with red eyes and a black jacket, old timey hat. standing. I got the impression I was being told he was a watcher. That I shouldn't be scared. He/it was so tall. this staring contest went on for a good 20 seconds. Then nothing. Just a blankness. I freaked out afterward. Found my dogs and just stayed up til dawn. This wasn't the last experience. Again night would confine me. Only this time, it was far, far worse. I can't hardly type it. My room is dark, the life seemed to be drained away and some confusing evil presence overtook like a headache of the room. The corners grew dark like tendrils of a black shadow. It got cold, a rising buzzing filled the room and my head. At the foot of the bed slowly lurched the dark entity. growing larger and larger over top of me. I was paralyzed. I thought "just kill me you bastard" It leaned further over me until its presence was fully in my face. a warbling black spiky figure with no eyes. just ghastly void. The buzz grew so loud I couldn't think. A cacophony then all at once an ultra bright light flooded the room rapidly and in an instant it was gone. I breathed finally. it was as thought god himself wiped the room with his hand. I to this day think it was my grandmother's spirit. Not a single thing after that day like it. just regular life. I never had seen an overdose first hand, so i just thought they were having a psychotic break or just a really bad panic attack. They later apologized for putting me through that and talked about it a little. He said that he was freezing cold, and that it felt like bugs were crawling all over their skin. They also said that i had a third eye and was all misty.

Whenever I was withdrawaling from heroin or sometimes even while on heroin and/or benzos I would take Benadryl to either intensify the drugs or to help me sleep if I was sick. I would usually take 8 pills/200mgs if I just wanted to sleep or about 14pills/350mgs if I wanted things to get a little wavey. The most I ever took was 20pills/500mg but even on that I never actually experienced hallucinations. Things just got real heavy like moving around through fog. Anyways I'm sober now and no longer abuse myself in that way. To anyone reading this please be careful.

i took 400 for sure and then i took more but i do not remember how much more then i OD'd and had 2 seizures. i tripped for 2 days straight and i dont remember coming home from the hospital, but i remember bits and pieces, like ants, my cat but it was just a shadow, i had like 20/200 vision, then i was on the couch talking to my parents and they were asking me what i took because i just had a seizure, and then i fell asleep and then i was in an ambulance and they didnt believe that i took benadryl and the mf guy over me was like yelling at me to tell the truth otherwise their drugs might fuck me up more. like i wasnt even really conscious, i just had 2 seizures and this mf was yelling at me. that shit pissed me off so i kept trying to take out my iv the whole time and leave cuz that guy was an asshole. then i was in the hospital, and i was happy that one of the dudes in my room was gay, then i told the nurse that over by the sink was my 3d printer and how i was making my own iron man suit (i wasnt, but i do have a 3d printer) and i kept trying to get up and go sit at my desk to play video games, but obviously, i was in the hospital. then i was at home and i had some brain fog for a couple days but i remember going to school the next day and everyone was like "wtf did you do bro" bc i texted some of my friends that i was doing it and they said be careful, and then my dad texted them some cryptic ass shit like "hes fighting for his life right now" and then refused to elaborate. oh yeah and there were pills just strewn about in my bed, which may have contributed to the ants i was seeing now that i think about it.

I told my psychologist about my concerns regarding the reports for dementia and he told me not to be. I still had him write me a script for Hydroxyzine and I alternate between them now :D I've taken it before. It doesn't knock me out as quickly as Benadryl but it tends to help me sleep more soundly and for longer.

When I was in uni, there was a time where I had a lot reoccurring dreams/nightmares, sleep paralysis, always heard steps inside my bedroom before falling asleep and frequently saw shadows through the corner of my eye. To this day I still don’t know what caused it, I wasn’t taking any drug other than alcohol (which I still do, but no longer have any such experience). I sometimes attribute it to stress, but I’m not completely sure. That was back in 2017. Like 2 years later I remembered I had those experiences and tried inducing sleep paralysis or OBEs for a week. I actually managed to have an OBE and took it as proof that I wasn’t just making up memories of those experiences. Haven’t tried anything since, but can’t shake the thought that there was something weird and unknown going on in my life for me to have all those ‘paranormal’ occurrences

I have a Benadryl addiction. I take 2 every night before I go to bed when I hit my dab pen. It gets me fucked up but the scary part is that its slowly killing you when you take it regularly. It starts out as really bad dehydration, then slowly turning from urine retention, kidney aches, kidney stones, liver problems and eventually memory loss and kidney failure. Benadryl will kill you if you dont read the label. Im trying to stop but its hard. Dont take Benadryl for more than 4 days straight. Dont take more than 2 pills in one day. Trust me. Its scarier than being addicted to coke and xanx, because its so easy to get and since its OTC its considered "safe", which it really isnt. If you dont want dementia and kidney problems later in life, stop taking it altogether.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and I am also a registered nurse. I acknowledge and respect your academic achievements, but I must point out that your comment could be interpreted as a scare tactic. It is crucial to understand that Benadryl, like any other over-the-counter or prescribed medication, may not be suitable for everyone and can potentially cause severe side effects if consumed in excessive amounts or over a prolonged period of time. Providing a mere suggestion to completely avoid a certain course of action does not seem to be appropriate medical guidance in my opinion. It is important to consider that individuals may interpret this advice differently, especially when it comes from a psychologist who emphasizes their plea for others to refrain from pursuing such a path. However, this plea lacks sufficient explanation in terms that can be comprehended by individuals who are not medical professionals. It is worth mentioning that the effects of Benedryl, like any other medication, can vary from person to person. While some individuals may have negative experiences with regular doses of Benedryl, it is essential to address these issues properly. Unfortunately, seeking answers on the internet may expose you to scare tactics that can potentially have a greater impact on your mental well-being than the actual drug itself. Remember, what works for one person may not work for another. If you frequently or severely experience episodes of sleep paralysis, it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional rather than relying on information from Google or RU-vid videos where someone may share similar symptoms but does not have the same body and brain wiring. If an individual is experiencing sleep deprivation and resorts to searching on Google or watching RU-vid videos about their symptoms, they may unknowingly expose themselves to a frightening outcome due to the influence of a few misleading sources.

@mrcrustnasty3574 when I was 3 or 4 I had a nightmare where I saw a shadow person or silhouette moving in the bushes, it made me wake up and I open my eyes to see that shadow person standing right there in the corner of my actual room fully awake and aware. Completely unable to move for like a full minute. He had a hat, long coat or something that obscured the silhouette. It was obviously terrifying as all hell, but on top of that natural fear there was some kind of an aura of unnatural almost supernatural fear and malevolence, pure unfiltered malice, evil, and terror. I couldn't see his eyes most of the time but I could tell he was looking right at me, just standing there... menacingly. And a few moments after I woke up paralyzed I heard violent, aggressive, frantic pounding on the windows and door, saw the door shuddering under the force of the pounding. As I tried to move, tried to scream for help the shadows got longer and closer. And then right before it ended the hatman reached out and rushed towards me which scared me enough I was able to sit upright and screamed louder than any other point in my entire life before or after. And just as the hallucination pounding on my door ended and the shadow man disappeared the door was actually flung open by my mom thinking I was being murdered. Happened again without the hatman or pounding a year or two later. Then nothing for years until 7th grade. Had it again, full on thing though only for a second or two. And from then on it happened every few months. I learned what sleep paralysis was, realized I experienced it, and it was definitely less terrifying knowing what it was. Then I started listening to very aggressive music to help me fall asleep. I find it soothing for some reason. But I wake up to a non hatman shadow person standing in the corner, but I had my music going which made it last a lot shorter period of time, and made me far less scared. I sat there and waited it out. The next time it happened I was still paralyzed and there was pounding on the door... from the inside by the shadow person trying to get out. It hasn't happened at all since then, and I named that particular sleep paralysis demon Steve after the opposum that lived in my barn.

My childhood cat allergy was intense, so I started using two DPH pills pretty much once a week. Being very young at the time, I didn't have a lot of tolerance to the stuff. I was supposed to take one and be done, but one oversight from a flustered Dad was enough to get me tripping balls - and for me to repeat the experience for every serious histamine flare-up I experienced. Benadryl would make me drowsy at first, but then I'd typically enter a hypnagogic state that left me unable to move while being wide awake. Basically sleep paralysis, book-ended by absolutely bugnuts dreams. I always ended trips with something close to extreme sleep inertia, where just stringing words together was difficult. Later on in life, my idiot ass accidentally mixed up cannabis and Benadryl, which led to characters from the short stories I was working on manifesting in front of me to applaud or berate my decisions in regards to the plot I'd be working on. On the opposite end, dosing DPH normally and pairing it with meditation aids or ASMR content usually gives me the deepest sleep I can get - although I don't go out of my way to share or experience it.
