I would look it up, but the short of it is you make a backup of the games save file which is located in /Steam/userdata/[???]/2054970/remote/ afterwards whenever you want to revert or swap back to the backup you just copy it back into the same folder. This allows you to have multiple save files so long as you make sure to backup each save file you want to use (remember to keep them up to date). Alternatively there is also a mod utility on nexus which achieves basically the same thing. (Note: the [???] is as such as there will be a folder named with a string of numbers which might be different on your device. Also note I don't fully remember if 2054970 is the folder for dragons dogma 2 so make sure to look up what the dragons dogma 2 folder is called).

@@user-ig5ko2xm5t I think sometimes the pawn gets locked-out for 24 hours or so sometimes as the server can see that there is something different about the save file and pawn id (basically the server see the file it has and your file don't align) but it shouldn't result in the pawn being perma-banned as long as the save file isn't edited in any way or contains illegal content (aka modded content). tldr if you're just copying over the save file it should be fine.

This happens because for some reason in capcoms infinite wisdom the pawn servers reserve 5 pawn ids for each player, so if you had 5 playthroughs you can theoretically have 5 pawns tied to your user. I say theoretically as in order to have the pawn registered with the server it first has to be online, and second the player must rest either at a campfire or an inn to generate the pawns id after the pawn is created. Bonus fact: if you reload the inn save immediately after a pawn id is generated the pawn id is reset to being ungenerated (I think the id must be generated some moments after the save is made, not before). This means that if you make a pawn. Rest, resulting in pawn with id A being made. Reload inn save. Rest. The same pawn now with id B is made.

If you had a pawn quest set to the previous pawn instance you will be able to complete said quest, but probably only once as that pawn will never again be updated. (I say probably as I think that the pawn servers occasionally refresh all pawn quests? I also believe after a long period of time pawns that are no longer active also get their quests deleted, as I've seen pawns suddenly stop offering any quests, in spite of no longer being an active pawn)

The 2 pawns will exist for as long as Cringe doesn't exceed capcoms 5 pawn reserve on the servers. Afterwards pawns Cringe has made will start getting overwritten by the newest pawn made and registered to the servers. Ultimately this may mean that we might go back to having 1 chonk lord after a time, or we could even get as many as 5 chonk lords if cringe keeps going back to the chonk save and registering his id.

When every pawn raises their hand after battle, i often only get to high five one of them and the other two high five each other meanwhile.

hmm for me i only had some minor bugs that were affecting my experience. like pawns getting stuck under bridges but i think they fixed that in the first two weeks after release. myb when u start moving files, using mods etc it is where the jank really starts.

@@real_Schrooten well its not just bugs that cause jank theres also the CPU shredding issue with how it tracks NPCs. Its jarring why they did this when devs have tried the same method before and it going poorly lol.
