Thank you for doing this video. It really does help. I have an allocation and I am constantly wrestling with specs, things you need and things you don’t need.

Matt, I have configured (3) 911’s so far and currently have a 992 GT3. I 100% agree with everything that you added other than the matrix headlights, unless you’re driving a majority at night, that’s a big ticket item. Preferably, I would add the RaceTex interior upgrade around the mirror and the door because you’re gonna be able to take advantage of the deviated speed blau even more so by adding that, and it’s only $1300. The Porsche crest on the armrest I think is also a nice little touch and for $350 I’d suggest adding that too. I have the racetex steering wheel on the 992 GT3 and I would have definitely preferred to have the leather steering wheel and shifter. The deviated stitching just looks so much better on the black leather steering wheel. For a car with this much (WILD) power I’d want as much grip as I can get and I feel that the leather is just a little bit better for that. 🎉 the Blue wheels and interior is very OG SPEC

Matt, your comment early in the video at 5:55 about being 10 years older is so real because id have been able to get a prestine R32 GTR in White for under 10k CAD back in the early 00s when they were about to be Canadian legal. But my dad said no.

Great series - Matt would like to see you spec a GT3 Touring again, after your experience with your car and what you say about PTS paint quality.

I would definitly say if you get a GT4RS thats something to seriously consider keeping for life. Its so good out of the box and I dont think they will make another car like that again. The only mod of course would be a great exhaust system to add to the already great sound experience. Really love these types of videos too. Definitely keep making them!

As a Porsche tech I spec and build almost all the cars all the time. I’ve specd out 4RS and 3RS countless times. my favorite blues are Oslo blue and the aventurine blue metallic. I like the bronze wheels and I agree with the buckets. They’re actually pretty comfortable and that’s the only way to go. I love this series and can’t wait for the 4RS video!

What I can say is when I can afford a GT I’d happily let Matt spec it 😂

I think that when European sales of gas / ICE engines are banned, companies like Porsche will just make their GT3 RS track only, still with ICE engines. Then people will just tow their RS on a trailer to the track.

Glad to know I am not the only one who spends an inordinate amount of time on configurators building cars. I call it research. My wife says dreaming…lol.

I was on the Porsche configurator yesterday at the dealership. My allocation is ready, goes final in about 2 weeks. After on the list for say 2 years. Agreed with you on about 95% of your choices, disagree with you on some, but of course personal. Have followed your channel, I was one of the first to suggest OG when you put it out there. Happy for all your success.

Hey Matt, disappointing about the paint to sample you would think that it would be more like a custom paint job and surpass or at the very least be equal to the factory finish but unfortunately, that’s not the case. always enjoyed these configuring videos. Looking forward to the lotus, really curious on what color you’ll choose. Personally, I’m leaving towards the dark green with the tan interior, but I guess we’ll see. Have a great one.

I think it's a fairly solid life goal to be as useful as you are to your friends/family.

Id have to go PTS on a GT3 RS, just to be different then most other GT3 RS's out there, plus its a special car so deserves the extra $$$$ for some nice paint, a guy near me has Viola Metallic 992 GT3 and it looks amazing even in the grey/dull British weather, so on a 992 GT3 RS it would be amazing!!!!

Just drove a 992 GT3 RS two days ago, absolutely wild experience on the track. It took awhile to wrap my head around what it was actually capable of in terms of braking, acceleration, and lateral grip. Stunning car, white with blue wheels. I have seen a number of these being flipped for **relatively** cheap (into the 300’s) out of California, but the nearest to me in TX is $500,000. Seems like these are just starting to come back to reality, but the impending release (and potential electrification) of 992.2s will shape the market below.

Definitely would be grateful to be in the position to be able to afford this car. Porsche GT cars are amazing 🤩

Nice car! I agree with everything but the yellow callipers. To me I think a chartreuse or what some people call fluorescent yellow callipers would go fantastic with the blue accents, and add to your wild! Theme

Matt I'm surprised you didn't do the auto dimming/auto wiper option for just the auto dimming feature, I find it very useful in any of my German cars when driving at night and there's a car with bright lights behind me. Is it not possible to turn the auto wiper feature off with the wiper stalk like on BMW's where its just a button?

I built mine in white and I will make it look just like the special edition in Python Green exterior and Mamba green interior.

I like the White with the Blue wheels, but I don't understand spending the $990 for the Exclusive Design Taillights when the lights in the rear bumper don't change as well.

Haha. I did a very similar config last week. Then thought yeah right will never get an allocation and certainly will not get one for MSRP and went about my day. LOL

order the carbon ceramics and replace rotors with Surface Transforms … slightly lighter, better than OEM and can be resurfaced 3-4 times for the win

The 3D Printed seats are pretty nice. We have them on a GT4 RS, the look of the Driver seat being different than the passenger is pretty cool. You also get the standard cushions in a little bag if you want to change over. Also I noticed the Stitching Blue (Speed Blue), and the Seat Belt blue (Shark Blue) color are both different, not sure if you noticed but figured I'd mention it.

Very cool. I would love to see you get one of these or a 4RS. I think I.C.W. stands for In Conjunction With.

Really liked this video. Could be a neat series. Would love to see a 992 3RS on the channel! They have a crazy aggressive presence in person. That car seems a little more fitting than the Touring. Based on the history of the channel. No shade on a Touring. Maybe take a look at Maritime Blue as well if your looking for a little purple like Club Blau. Maritime looks amazing on big wang cars!

The crazy thing is how expensive the OEM stickers are - the one under the wing alone is $800!! $800 for a bit of vinyl!

Hey Matt, remember the return on “rolling stocks” are usually not good!

It’s crazy to me how dealers are trying to flip these cars way above MSRP and people are going crazy trying to buy them when the 992.2 generation is on the horizon. The 992.1 GT3 RS will look outdated once the 992.2 GT3 RS debuts. Just as the 997.1 to 997.2 and 991.1 to 991.2 did. The .2s always look better!

Such a shame its so hard to get the gt3rs in the US. In Europe there are build slots available, hopefully they shift them to the US given lack of demand here. Good luck!

As far as the spec’d PPF goes……….DON’T DO IT as you said. I bought a used, basically new, 19’ RS that only had 76 miles on it back in 2019. The original owner had spec’d the PPF option. Knowing that it was a consumable I didn’t care much but the PPF install was the worse install I had ever seen. Immediately upon taking possession I took it to my local dealer to address the bubbles and sloppy work. Though it was spec’d on my build sheet, my local dealer wasn’t even sure who the actual installer was. They did not even know it was a configurable option. After some further investigation on their part, they found out that all cars that are configured with PPF have that PPF installed at the Port of Entry by a contracted installer, who in this case was XPEL. If I wanted it fixed I had to call and coordinate with XPEL corporate. Instead, I paid to send it to a real detailer who removed all the original PPF, paint corrected the car as it should have been done originally, applied new PPF and then ceramic coated it. I would not recommend this as an option to spec. It will be a major disappointment.

Hey Mike, I’m not sure if you’ve talked about this topic in the past. But in the beginning you were talking about Panic attacks. I have had a fair share of panic attacks myself in the past. I can strongly advise you to go to a therapist/psychiatrist or a psychologist (whatever you prefer) if you have not done already. I know every brain is different and every person reacts differently, but it had a huge positive effect on my anxiety and panic attacks. Love your content, hopefully you can drive your cars to their full potential soon again!

the one thing i would specifically disagree with you on is the autodimming mirrors. These days everyone has poorly aimed LED headlights (particularly model 3s and model Ys) so I constantly get blinded by the cars behing me. Autodimming mirrors make a world of difference in dealing with all these poorly aimed headlights.

GT4 RS have dropped a lot in price in the U.K. It’s not as good on track as a GT3 variant, and it’s too noisy on the road unless for occasional special drives.

Is there an option for the spoiler end plates to be painted in body color? I've seen it on a few cars online but cant seem to find it on the configuration.

My hobby is also dreaming about some cars that i cant afford just yet but if you dont dream it you cant have it someday.. :)
