Nah, but money does buy time and time makes skill. I've raced things pretty much my whole life. I started racing MX right as the "alien child" thing started happening and it was brutal. Obviously I had the privilege of being able to have a not so old used MX bike and go racing, but competing against kids rich enough to have multiple bikes, haulers, present fathers, training programs and homeschooling becomes impossible pretty quickly when you're trying to go pro while going to public school, and having a job.

Is it really that difficult to just be stoked for someone who wants to give the sport a go? He has a goal/dream, good for him for getting after it. You can tell he's worked hard to have the things that he has so why not start with something that's purpose built that comes from someone you know & come back to for advice, feedback etc? So much easier to talk smack to people you're jealous of hell, I'm jealous that someone has the money to just outright buy the s14, that car is an absolute masterpiece. It's an overkill car to start with but give him some time & commitment hopefully it'll make for a good pairing. Given that he's retired I'm assuming he's getting a bit older so it makes sense to have a 'turn-key' setup instead of spending all the time you want to be learning just fixing problems, waiting on parts etc. Hope he does well 👍

People get into the sport and automatically want to go pro. It's not hate to state the obvious. I have a built jzx90 I'm not jealous at all. People need to learn fundamental tools and understanding of how drifting works. It's not something you just jump into. He obviously has intelligence being he was a pilot. But flying a jet is way different than a car.​@@lewisdeanhall
