JW definitely thinks the Jaden Smith version of The Karate Kid is better than the original and that’s all we need to know about his theoretical fighting ability.
First comment, lets go! It seems like a weird system that an opponent is the one that has to challenge a players paddle? NGL, you guys spent 10 minutes theorizing about MLP teams in a fist fight and it was amazing.
Great episode! Your podcasts are getting even better. I was there at the Masters match 😢. Didn’t you and Dylan have a long run of medalling together? BJ and ALW should be getting nervous about you and James. Let’s go Hustlers!
I don’t believe any company is purposely making paddles that delaminate. It’s a manufacturing problem since this is an ever evolving process for new paddle technology.
JDubs and DJ? I take DJ 10 of 10.. He has trained some MMA and is a huge MMA fan. AJ would be a fighter too.. Remember he was a hockey player.. Throwing down is part of the game.. Hockey players are tough.. 😊 And AB is right.. Lea would be a a pitbull in a fight.. 😊
In reference to paddles, the manufacturers are responsible to make a paddle that meets and holds specifications. Part of the manufacturing process is testing under use conditions the product you were making. Proper testing would have detected the delamination, but I am sure there is a race to come out with better paddles. That is not an excuse for failing to test correctly, but I can see it happening. It doesn’t matter whether the delamination is accidental. It is still a failure and needs to be corrected. If players are purposely banging on their paddle to cause it to delaminate that is another story and it’s not the fault of the manufacturer. It doesn’t seem like that is what is happening, but it does seem as you too have said that the players and the manufacturers know it’s happening. To me if the PPA would test on site randomly, and also anyone who wins there would be incentive to be sure you use the paddle. That was the laminated, and if it did become the laminated, you would pull it out of rotation. I have read that it’s pretty easy to see a paddle is delaminated both by sound and feel. Just my thoughts.
Really enjoyed this podcast. Anna I would screenshot Dylan your itinerary of what to talk about beforehand so that maybe the long pauses would be less. Overall, I like the topics and what you cover. A lot of pauses and unknowing questions of each other is sometime fun if you were Iggy with whatever comes to mind but Dylan isn’t like that. He thinks before he speaks so plan better questions so there’s not a lot of pause and also “um” it’s so bad. Anna you talk a lot of your grandfather. Ask him how he feels about people saying “um”
Wow. Maybe get up to speed before acting like these companies are acting “holier than thou.” These companies have been working on this delamination problem for months now. They already have paddles being sent out to players with more glue, and in Legacy’s case changing factories, to fix this problem. These changes don’t just come about in a week.
