@Eyris malpractice and the drug. There’s a reason these medications are regularly swept off the market, it’s because they become addictive. Michael would’ve gotten it some other way if it weren’t through his original provider. Just saying you can die from malpractice and a drug.

I can’t even begin to imagine how intense Michael Jackson’s psychological demons were that he felt the need to completely shut off his brain every night with powerful anesthesia. Jesus
He was dealing with severe physical pain while literally running the show so yes he also had psychological issues. Doesn't mean it had anything to do with the lies told in documentaries and books produced and sold after his death (made millions $'s) so he couldn't defend himself.

If I could have met any celebrity, it would have been him. When I found out he died, I actually thought it was a sick joke because (it just couldn’t be real). I think I went days thinking it was a sick joke. And then I realized it was true and it bothered me so bad. I remember the first time I was going to get propofol for my colonoscopy. The doctor came in for consultation beforehand and said you're going to get the same drug that Michael Jackson took on the day he died. Thanks a lot doc.
Michael had suffered so much pain from the injuries and also had insomnia, i only wish he had some good doctors to give him more safe treatments, then we may not have lost such a great entertainer and a humanitarian so soon.
My mom had this for a colonoscopy and she said it was the best feeling she's ever had. I can understand Michael Jackson using this but just wish he would've gotten an actual anesthesiologist for the task.
This is the only Anastasia that doesn't make me sick after surgery. A person needing a long surgery would need General Anastasia, but that makes me sick after surgery.
I also remember the Dr that administered this without an anesthesiologist. Then didn't even put him on a hard surface for CPR. Propofol didn't kill Michael Jackson, Dr Conrad Murray did...😪
@@tanyaperales6681 OH, so all addicts you treat this way? Michael Jackson had a serious problem. This Dr should have gotten him help instead of more drugs!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
On August 28, 2009, the Los Angeles County coroner classified Jackson's death as a homicide, determining that Jackson died from acute propofol intoxication, exacerbated by the anxiolytic lorazepam, and less significantly midazolam, diazepam, lidocaine, and ephedrine
i got a colonoscopy when i was 20 (now 21) and as the anesthesiologist held up a huge syringe of propofol to put in my IV i said “isn’t that the drug that killed michael jackson“ and he said “yep” and i knocked out
I had one when I was like 7 or 9, I can't remember what they gave me but based on other's experiences here with it I'd say it likely was. I Remember the anesthesiologist coming over and saying something about them having a kitten in the OR that liked to come and say hi sometimes to patients and that sometimes he scratched them but it would be fine. I remember thinking what complete BS that was, followed by the prick of the IV and being marveling at the fact that even knowing exactly what it was, how similarly it felt to when my grandma's demon kitten scratched me, but without the burning pain immediately after the initial scratch. And then the world went black like a second after I thought that lol. Simar to my surgery I had last spring, get wheeled into OR, was told all morning if I had questions to as the surgeon, but the surgeon never showed up so I thought I'd be able to talk quickly in the OR. I get there, one of the attendings introduces me and says here's the surgeon Dr. So-and-so. Dr says hi, if you have questions I'll be done/come over in a minute and you can ask me then. I agree and they started getting me set up with IVs and explaining that's what they were. Anesthesiologist says I'm not going to put any anesthetic in just yet, just some plain fluids to start it. Okay. Me waits 2 seconds for the Dr to come over, next thing I know I'm struggling to wake up and fighting down the worst nausea I've ever experienced and feeling like I've been hit with a truck. I was again knocked unconscious before they told me they would, but I had a bad reaction to the anesthetic this time, 2 black eyes from various small capillaries on my face getting blown from blood pressure, my throat was all raw, probably because my gag relfex got in a fight with the tube when they tried to intubate me, etc. Sore back, shoulders etc from the position and the gas they used for lacroscopy, 2 extra inscisons than was told, poorly done stitches (looked like skin glue with steri-strips on top, which would've been fine except they rolled the skin when they did it so one edge was raised higher than the other or twisted to reach around over top, so they took a long time to heal and almost re-opened a few times. I had to use more steri-strips for a few weeks after to take some pressure off the ones in high stress areas just so that they would tear themselvesopen again, I almost went back to have them redone when I removed the gauze after the required amount of days and saw that). Looked and felt more like I got in a fight with the OR staff than lay on a table lmao. 🤣

Went under for out patient surgery. Had issues during the procedure and was put in the ICU. Woke up with both arms and legs tied to the bed. They were giving me the highest dose of propofol to keep me from being combative. I spent more than 48 hours on that shit and it was a living nightmare. I had to get my wisdom teeth removed. I talked with the doctor about the anesthesia. "oh I will give you the good stuff! The stuff that killed Michael Jackson." I was like: 👀
I've never been under general anesthesia for anything (and I hope to keep it that way) but if a doctor said that to me, my anxiety would go through the roof!
Michael had empty nose syndrome, apparently due to all his rhinoplasty, there was a constant feeling of suffocation that he battled which made it hard to sleep without waking up feeling like you’re drowning, therefore he had to get drugged significantly to get any rest.
Incorrect Michael took pain medication because he burnt his scalp while filming a pepsi ad This fact is confirmed in his autopsy report What is also confirmed in his autopsy report is that he only had two surgeries The reason his nose was smaller was because of a disease LUPUS which shrinks feautures like your nose and changes the skin on the cheeks.
It's eerie considering the conversations he had surrounding people coming after him. He mentioned they'll make it look like an accident "like a drug overdose or something" was what he said
It's sad though. The fact that he started and then felt like he needed it to function properly. Can't imagine becoming addicted and then ultimately it's your demise. ❤️ Michael you are dearly missed.
He did feel like he needed it to function properly bc that’s not what this drug is. It’s anesthesia, what doctors use to put patients to sleep before surgery. He had insomnia so bad that his doctor would use this for him to sleep. Also idk anyone who can function to well after not being able to get any sleep in days let alone the kind of schedule & life Michael had. Poor man hardly got any normal sleep in who knows how long & relied on anesthesia to get some sleep. Being heavily drugged in order to sleep can’t be good on the mind or one’s health. It’s a shame what some doctors will do just to be able to brag that they’re so & so’s famous persons doctor.
Honestly I can see how it could be addicting. I’ve had it 4 times for surgeries and it’s a nice feeling being out to sleep. It must be used by an anesthesiologist in a hospital setting with ventilation.
If they make it u can get it on the street. Right now there is someone self medicating themselves with it. There are some hard core junkies out there that could take a shot of that and drive home
And a nurse monitoring your vitals. This will tank a person respiratory rate and pulse. I've seen it happened and you basically bag and pray they recover. That's why it blew my mind that a Doctor would give this in a home setting too a un monitored pt (Michael Jackson)..
Clarify! this is a SEDATION drug intended for patients in the Intensive Care setting who need to be knocked out because they are so sick they require mechanical ventilation ( a breathing machine ) to breathe for them for awhile or who are undergoing anesthesia induction for surgery. It is NOT a sleeping aid to treat insomnia like Michael Jackson's Dr was using it for! In the proper setting and intended use it is safe. It takes effect quickly when you start it and wears off quickly when you stop it and need to wake the patient up. It also has a retro-amnesic effect meaning you won't recall the procedure you just undergone. This drug is intended to put you in deep sedation requiring a ventilator to breathe for you. We use it routinely for patients in respiratory failure. MJ's doctor I believe was prosecuted for negligence and involuntary manslaughter and lost his medical license for misuse of this therapy causing MJ' s death.
I received that drug when I had my colonoscopy and MAN!! I slept like a baby!! It was a short procedure but the amount of quality rest I got from that drug was AMAZING!! I felt like a million bucks when I woke up. I instantly knew why Michael would be so drawn to it...he probably was stressed out and needed rest...when a person is highly stressed they can develop insomnia...I have great compassion for Michael and am sad that his life ended so abruptly!! R.I.P. Michael🙏🙏🙏
@@kinglyon9271 that's because it was your dentist and they're not as prepared for that procedure...you should've realized when he had both hands on your shoulders...its ok though man we can find you a group for that with other victims to help you through it
Man this is the best way to be put to sleep omg, no groggy still feeling sedated the whole day. From the time you wake up 30 minutes later you can be eating in a restaurant, no hangover. That being said I can definitely see how someone could become addicted while having a shitty Dr pump you full at home for fun. As for the intended purpose this is the bees knees and I always ask for it for any procedure that needs me to be asleep in place of the general anesthesia meds that leave you jaded for the whole day after surgery. Edit: Should be titled the drug Michael Jackson's shitty Dr used to kill him.
I had it when I was sedated twice for a ventilator (respiratory arrest). I was out for 2 1/2 days both times and remember completely nothing at all. 😂 Also had it for my exploratory laparotomy.
@@makaylachataigne7436 the combo of Propofol and Ativan prescribed is what killed him. The doctor didn’t kill him purposely, but he certainly knew the risk.
The drug when used properly can be very helpful. What killed Micheal was an inept doctor that left him alone after administering the drug, then trying hopelessly to perform CPR on a soft bed. A 1st year med student knows better than that.
My dad always tells the story about how when he went in for a colonoscopy, right as he was about the knock out the anesthesia tech started talking about how it was the stuff that killed Micheal Jackson
I know it can be used in putting someone in a medically induced coma. When my daughter overdosed they gave her this so her brain could have time to heal . I don’t know about sleeping. I have heard that when they knock you out like that , that your not likely have any dreams or remember them . I don’t know if the dreaming would interrupt the healing part . Might be different in other situations.
The problem of propofol is that when used, that person doesn't come to the REM, so in actuality there is no real sleep 😴 that why he was always so tired
Reading all of these comments from people saying they’ve taken it before a medical procedure/operation is really interesting/slightly terrifying, because I never knew exactly what use the drug was intended for.
I admit I was a bit nervous when I was told it would be used for my colonoscopy. Very relieved when I woke up and thankful. Just like I’m thankful for making it through another pandemic year.

Well no. He had insomnia for so long he grew tolerant of meds to sleep over the years causing him to need to be sedated at night and he was actually given another drug to wake back up in the morning. And unfortunately something happened and he took too much. Idk if it didn't work as well that night so he thought he didn't take enough or what but I'm thinking it was probably some thing like that. His depression at that point is irrelevant. Most drugs after a while cause tolerances. There's no need to fear at the sight of this one either. Michael should have been monitored every night if he required this level of sedation to get any rest and he wasn't which is why he died and why his Dr was found guilty because he wasn't there as he should have been. We are going to be monitored if this is used on us.
Propofol shouldn't be used outside of hospitals. His doctor was at fault, but maybe Michael somehow made his doctor to give it to him. I don't remember the results of the trial.
That stuff is wicked. I remember getting an endoscopy done and I got some propofol and after my procedure was through I had no idea anything had happened at all. I swore up and down I didn’t have anything done.
You know, there’s somewhere that says he asked for milk before he died. Dr.Butterfingers says he called it milk to avoid suspicion. He might’ve just given the guy that with the labeling off.
Funny you say that. My 8 year old was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2016. She got proton radiation and to put her out they used this and they called it her milk. I said that's disgusting dont say that anymore. It didn't sit right it's a dangerous drug they were giving a cute/pet name to.
I recently had surgery and was sedated with Propofol. That stuff was immediate as soon as it hit me. Okay, so MJ went to sleep quickly. What the media failed to report was the after effects. I woke up drinking a soda. They told me I asked for it. I was high as a kite for a good long time after I woke up. The first 24 hours after, I dodnt feel normal. My hair fell out more than normal for about a month. I cannot imagine wanting that feeling and going through that a few times a week. MJ should have gone to rehab. Addiction is serious.
I have a question for you. I went into the hospital with “c” and I have been on chronic pain meds for over 5 years. They REFUSED to give me pain meds unless I asked for them. I was having seizures from not taking my meds because I was to I’ll to do so. I was in such pain that after 5 days I begged for my meds. They finally relented. Why did they refuse to give me my meds? Heart patients who can’t ask for pain meds get them, hospice patients get them who can’t ask? Why?
