back as a freshman in high school, as I was discovering The Drums a whole 11 years ago, I was in a theater class and one of our projects was to choreograph and come up with a "music video". I chose this song and led the project with my classmates. It was a funny time, because no one would take theater back then, it was just for theater geeks and people who had left their electives for the last minute. I hated performing in that class, I wasn't even into theater. But when I was able to get all of my group coordinated with my idea, have them visualize everything I had envisioned, that was fascinating to me. We ended up getting the highest grade for the project, and everyone LOVED our little live music video and of course, they also loved the song.
If you don't imagine waking up on a Saturday morning in the summer and heading to the beach with your love, windows down, sunroof open, you ain't listening right
Buenisimos, son una de las mejores bandas de todos los tiempos, siempre pongo esta cancion en mi camioneta cuando viajo junto con mi esposa e hijo porque nos gusta mucho, let´s go surfing Peru.
This song was the soundtrack to so many attempted all nighters, shoplifting energy drinks, nasty skateboard wipeouts. First indie band I ever got into back in Jr.High; it was always have a place in my heart.
remember this song playing on much music "punch" or something like that where you text in your votes for the next music video.. be either really late or really early seeing this ... man that was like 13 years ago. enjoy life
@vintageEXP779 UHH I don't think so, check 0:54 - 1:02 You can clearly see that they are rolled up on Johnny and if you look carefully they are also on Jacob
@michellejesica i agree 100% BUT you have to think about the reason the band is on the commercial in the first place! They needed money so they allowed for their song to be on a commercial. They have bills to pay just like everyone else.
@dylanbhott I think it is for a purpose...the whole song is about being kid-like "Oh mama I wanna go surfing" I mean he is asking his MOM to go surfing so I am guessing this is some sort of song about Pierce's childhood
you are right that the song isn't technically complicated but you can't argue that it is an utterly infectious pop tune. If you listen to the Beatles alot of their songs where very simple like this and they're acclaimed to be one of the greatest bands of all time. If a song is stuck in my head then the artist band have done a good job regardless of whether it's technically sound or not @MrUndergroundsound
