Another bit of duality, Weather dies peacefully from his wounds, making peace with himself, and Pucci dies in agony, screaming and begging, knowing everything he did was for naught.
I mean with all the allusions found in between the themes and messages sent by each part, character, and even chapter... It wouldn't be too far off from teaching it in Japanese or even American schools. I think the only thing holding it back is what I'd say is the 3rd biggest jojo meme out there. "I forgot"
Heavy weather was honestly on Giorno a level of OP but it so happened that blind people can’t be affected by the subliminal and gave Pucci a way to fight against it.
@@kingkay14 yeah. Giorno was more about a technical and broken ability. Weather Report was more about raw destruction as well as versatility. He was basically a dragon ball character walking around in the jojo verse but still had the weird and broken abilities
Heavy Weather: Genetics...Can I pleaaaase have a stand that is weather related? Genetics: So you can control the weather as much as you want? Heavy Weather: Yeeeeeeeeees *Actually makes people think they're snails like a boss* Heavy Weather: Snail time
Wait. Does it make people think they're snails or are they actually snails? Because I remember bugs were swarming them because the bugs saw them as giant snails
It's interesting since I just noticed that Weather Report and Pucci share similar backgrounds to Johnathan and Dio but backwards. Pucci lives in a wealthy mansion, but is the villain, and Weather Report has no home or family but is the hero. So Pucci is like Johnathan in that sense, so Dio's only friend is like Johnathan!
@@badtimeisinevitable9620 It's unclear if he has pinpoint accuracy when using his abilities, he could've killed Anasui if he striked with a lightning or summoned a tornado, plus he was about to win...
Sleepy Gyro it says in the manga that he can target specific people with thunderbolts I’m pretty sure the only reason he didn’t is because pucci had already injured him too much
Everyone who says “one step close to part seven” is missing the point. If there’s one thing you should’ve taken away from part five is that if you only care about the results then you’ll never truly care about the journey. And bad things happen to people who only care about the results. So just sit back, relax, and enjoy another great part of jojo.
anyone that hates part 6 just because they can't fucking read the manga... probably some new people that finished watching part 5 then can't wait so they read part 6 even tho they can't read the manga correctly or can't absorb the information well
I finished reading this story arc (again) two days ago. Crazy. I also think that Weather lives a life without having or feeling purpose. While Pucci pursues one goal and only existing for this purpose.
@@m3mori Weather´s purpose was deliver justice to the scum that did him wrong like a old testament god did by punishing Eve and Adam (in weather´s case the KKK) and then lucifer for his bad deeds.
Idk why everyone hated the ending, Emporio for me was seen like all the little kids that end up tagging along with the group like Hayato and Smokey but Emporio used Puccis power against him and used weather report as his greatest fear to kill him
I loved the ending. I wanted Dio and Pucci to win so someone other than the Josters bloodline winning for a change was the next best thing. 6 series in and part one being the only time the villain won. Shit was getting predictable so the JoJo's losing and some other person saving the day was refreshing.
My problem and with SO as a whole is I feel likt a lot of the characters or relationships feel underdeveloped so I felt very little for Emporio in the end since we saw him so little
@@mauroramirez5976 his plan was to restart the universe and make one where people know their fate, and it did happen temporaroly,so in my mind he temporairly won
Phantom Blood: Starts with a accident in the road, ends with the fight between two brothers Stone Ocean: Starts with a accident in the road, ends with the fight between two brothers
I can't call Pucci evil, but maybe corrupted. He certainly is the enemy, but I see whitesnakes ability as a manifestation of guilt, love, or even compassion for his suffering brother with its ability to take away destructive powers and painful memories (at least that's how it started). His mistakes, with Dio's influence, cause him to develop a philosophy that makes sense - - the idea that people should know their own fate. It would have saved him and his family a lot of trouble. Pucci is my favorite villain. His story is basically a Shakespeare tragedy
We also know, that fate in JoJo is real thing and concept. So, it makes even more sense for Pucci to develop such beliefs in JoJo universe. Part 5 was also heavy on whole destiny and fate thing, Sleeping slaves and etc.
@@kakhagvelesiani3877 I like how pretty much l all the parts have some fate vs determinism theme woven in there. Normally the protagonists fight against fate while the antagonists believe in or seek to control fate.
I'd call him "evil." Just because he had a philosophy he believed in, however misguided, doesn't make him any less awful. When we review people who have committed attrocities throughout history, we don't tend to regard them as "misguided." I agree with you that Pucci's feelings of shame and love led to Whitesnake's abilities. But his pursuit of changing fate had less to do with his own ideals, and more with his own fear and hypocrisy. The ultimate fate of his family was his own fault due to the conscious choices he made. He was the only person consciously aware of everything that happened, and he ignored his opportunities to make things right. This is why I call him evil.
@@kakhagvelesiani3877 I like what you and Scarlote point out. JoJo's is heavy on the battle between fate and determinism. The protagonists tend to ignore "fate" and just do what they feel they have to do. Pucci specifically, while claiming to want to change fate, refuses to acknowledge that everything that has happened to him and his siblings (after his finding out about Wes), was his fault. Due to his actions alone, and not some omnipotent external factor. Refusal to accept responsibility of the consequences of one's personal flaws is one constant villain trait in JJBA
Another point in contrast between Weather and Pucci is how they died. Pucci talked about keeping Weather in prison so he could save his brother at some point, but when he eventually killed his own family, Anasui points out that Weather was already saved as light shined on his then dead body. As for Pucci, his retribution was delivered by Emporio and Weather Report, a Stand resembling an angel, like you said. More specifically, his head was crushed by Weather Report's foot, like how Lucifer was literally head stomped by Michael, another of God's angels, before being kicked into Hell. So, yeh. Edit: Big goof on my part, for anyone who may read this. Pucci's head was crushed by Weather Report's fist, not his foot. Only realized this awhile ago after re-reading my Bible, but forgot to update until now. Whoops.
@@kerguelen_cabbage i see weather report as some kind of guardian angel to weather because of the many times it kept him from killing himself, also it’s basically able to recreate those plagues god sent to torment Egypt.
I really dont get why people call part 6 the worst JoJo's part. It has its downsides and dumb things, but it had an extremely compelling story, great setting, and amazing main villain that isn't OP for most of the story. It's ending is also one of the best endings in fiction, to the point where i think its better than things like DBGT's ending.
The biggest downside of the part are Pucci´s Whitesnake asspulls, but aside from that it´s not that bad and no Part 8 is the worst jojo part, with part 5 coming at 2nd place because of that awful ending, part 6 at the very least provided us a smart villain that had the most Chaotic Evil allignment of all time, like really what he planned to do with the world was the ultimate evil.
This is a great look into these characters specially Pucci that 99% of the time is just portrayed as "lol gay priest" to the point that people actually misunderstands his motivation
Really wish we got a fight between heavy weather tearing the ozone layer against c moon flipping everything. The two brothers who stands could literally destroy the planet going head to head. Edit: on the subject of c-moon can we get a video of c-moon or junping jack flash vs i am a rock?
I think some of the best themes exist in part 6, it deals with redemption, friendship, loyalty, ambition, subjective morality, fatherhood, intelligence. Like man ff’s monologue on intelligence had me crying so hard. She loved her friends so much :’(
My favorite part of Duality is how Pucci is in a way the representation of the devil. He holds Dio to the same regard as God, and that breaks one of God’s Ten Commandments And finally Pucci’s main ultimate goal directly contrasts God’s plan and perfectly aligns with Satan’s. Pucci wants a world where there is no choice, only fate guides us, whereas God created the world so that we might have decisions and choice, and that we may repent of bad choices through Christ and everything. I believe Araki used to be Christian when he was younger, so seeing these Christian concepts implemented in a story and dived upon is awe-inspiring to me. (Also I’m talking about general Christian churches, I know there are different sections of the faith that believe different aspects of it, I’m not trying to convince that what you believe is incorrect of it doesn’t follow the general Christian faith.)
@@hololivesimp6242 Oh yeah because I know part 5 is an analogy since Giorno is the son of Dio (God) fighting Diavolo (devil). In fact both parts 5 and 6 are analogies for revelations to some extent.
What just i see? But I’m waiting for SBR which might not get animated because it’s by Ultra jump, if it does get green lighted right after part 6 it will be 2024-2025 and as for part 8.... idk because I personally think that part 8 (Jojolion) will last another 3-5 years. And I also think Jojolion is also the last Jojo, unless Araki passed the torch to his daughter or a successor.
It's sad that pucci, a Christian who is suppose to be taught to do good in the world and serve God. Ends up doing the complete opposite. He spreads evil and worships Dio Brando whom is literally evil incarnate.
I always thought that weather report defeating Pucci was ironic justice, and an extension of his idea of gravity. Considering he is basically directly responsible for his own death by accelerating time on himself
everytime I think of Araki's design choices when it comes to stands and their Users im constantly blown away. and when I think I've seen everything, BAM I get sucker-punched! I haven't even read Stone Ocean, but Weather is already my favorite character.
That's a pretty neat duality found here. I never noticed it. Just as good as the duality of Giorno's and Diavolo's final stands, one can remove the cause while the other removes the effect.
But the devil powers in anime make us think that devil is just like human.. Soon we might even think that devil is capable of good.. When in reality the devil just want to doom us humans to hell with him
Crocs Official oh shit sorry i forgot i thought he was 38 in DIU so i assumed he was and 40 in VA so i also assumed he was in his late 50’s i was 10 years edit: late fuck i’m a dumbass
Ironically, Pucci's desire while gaining his stand was to get a hold of the memory of her sister, thus "saving" her in some kind of twisted but sincere way. Meanwhile, Weather gained his stand in a moment of anger probably with the wish of getting revenge.
So let me get this straight.. -So this whole time pucci’s stand represents the devil -weather’s stand represents an angel/god… -which means they are evil and good and good and evil because of both their pasts… Now it makes sense!
I have mixed feelings about Enricco Pucci. I think he's an excellent villain in ways that Dio wasn't, and I love him for those qualities, but at the same time I hate him because he kind of HAX'd his way to achieving his goals *SPOILER* and wiped out the main cast.
The chances of this being a coincidence are astronomical. Like he might not have tought of every detail mentioned in this video, but he definiteley tought about most of these.
i never understood why people hate on part 6 i really feel like it was the best part until part 7 came out, i think every jojo part is somewhat better than the one before, u can see araki's skills become better and better each part.
I'm absolutely fascinated by they're backstorys, it's so viscerally biblical. honestly the only thing I can think of with a comparable tone and vibe is toni morrison's Song of Solomon.
Pucci isnt black ,he is a dark skinned italian (if that makes sense) Remember him and Domenico/Weather are twins so Maybe Araki dug deeper with that duality between them ,as for centuries before emancipation the colore black was considèred evil(not saying Araki is racist tho, after all Pucci did won ) so Pucci being born dark skinned could mean he was born evil
Artistic license, but Southern Italians and Sicilians can get quite olive-skinned which is what Araki was going for. Both of the Pucci Bros are Italian-Americans raised in Florida after all, so there is bound to be some tanning going on. Besides it gives the black cosplay community someone to easily cosplay despite not actually being African.
it's kinda poetic how each stand of dio's children foreshadows an aspect/the phases of MiH bohemian rhapsody - effective on global scale sky high - makes the user manipulate being/s with fast speeds underworld - makes a pre-destined fate relive itself idk that's just me talkin
The song also says that Pucci's goal is entirely based from the lyric, "willing to play my part" "turn me upside down" "stormy weather (weather report)" "playing my role in history, searching to find my goal" "taking all this misery's" bruh Araki is a genius bruh.
