That's not why Silverback got shut down. It was a cali dude who was claiming patent infringement on judging concepts. He was threatening lawsuits, udef is back just not the Silverback open its been renamed the philly open.

you both are awesome for doing this podcast! super dope and informative and a really cool way to learn about the culture from another country and persons perspective. I'm from the US and wanna make a statement about UDEF. A lot of Americans didn't like UDEF because of the other things surrounding the business. A lot of local jams suffered from how it was run. Sometimes UDEF would also have jams the same day as other promoters. even a state away from where another jam was happening. They even would announce the jam after those same promoters stopped working with them. I personally didn't hate UDEF but I can say I saw some really negative stuff come to certain jams after they stopped working with UDEF. People's frustration was more so with this guy running his business but upsetting smaller local jam infrastructure and not being flexible. Especially when this rich guy from out of nowhere claimed to have love for the scene.
