In japanese his full name is ‘ doemu ketsu-hat’ and doemu literally means masochist and ketsu literally means ass..and hat is pretty self explanatory

What makes it funny is that all the characters are oblivious to the name jokes in-story. They did lampshade "Mundane Mann" to be fair, but the distinguished Royal Chancellor, "Perv Asshat" was spoken of in deadpan serious tone.

cid renamed the shadow garden (they had different names prior) to greek alphabet probably just to be edgy. i noticed some of the background character ones, but I didn't realise his two mob friends 😂 that's hilarious

Cid is old Spanish and Arabic for Lord. Kagenou is just a way to hide: Kage no Cid. And because of how Japanese works, this means Lord Shadow.

The villain’s name in Japanese is not 「ドメ」“Dome” it’s ドM（どえむ）“Do-emu” which is the word you’re referring to that’s about the S&M stuff. But you left out the other part of his name which is 穴ハット（Ketsuhatto） Which literally like saying “Ass hat” in Japanese. His name in English, Perv Asshat is a translation of his Japanese name. He basically literally is called the same name in Japanese. ドエム・ケツハット（Doemu ）(Perv Asshat)

one of the best slice of life romance shows of all time (imo) "My Teen Romantic Comedy is Wrong, as Expected" also known as "Oregairu," has a goofy naming scheme also - most of the characters have their last names as just longer or slightly altered versions of their first names. you have Yukinoshita Yukino, Yuigahama Yui, Hayama Hayato, Tsurumi Rumi, Kawasaki Saki, etc. it's great though, definitely worth a watch if you don't like not crying

Eminence In Shadow if probably my favourite anime of all time. The whole story is good and has a lot of action. It’s also a very good Comedy anime. It’s just a 9/10 in my opinion. I would say it’s close to a 10/10 but that’s only if the Movie they announced is good and if there will be a season 3.
