so i was attempted to be taxed on a psa yugioh sub in 2018 (2500 dec value) i fought the charges saying it was returning goods and the service i paid for was only 140 canadian. if you had the card in canada sent it in somewhere else for what i called a "check up" they will. you paid for a 500$ grading process not a 5000$ card. i spent probably 3 hours on hold with border serv. but the 380 they wanted was well worth my 3 hours.
@@ThatReadingGuy28 the only ones that I can think of ever really existing until recently were Crosby and Lemieux from one of the years of the cup and the Crosby and Crosby duel auto where he signed it twice
@@Masterjeffee I remember seeing a parkhurst mini auto of Sid and mcdavid as well and I know there’s a couple of duels of him and Malkin from recent years
The Expo was good this year, but I too found cards to be overpriced with a lot of dealers not willing to haggle at all. Now, I wasn't looking for anything high end and only spent about $200.00 dollars but I didn't come away with any gems like I have in previous years.
Nice! Everyone (including card buyers) thought I was foolish buying McDavid's raw FWA for $693.00, back in 2016. A raw one sold on Feebay, about 2 weeks ago, for over $9800.00 🇨🇦. I think I made a decent purchase! Goodluck on the grades. Looking forward to that video!
I'm excited for this. From what the video shows, the raw card looks pretty superb! If it's less than a 9, I will go mental. Good thing about Beckett, though, is that they give that 4 split review of edges, surface, etc., for where the grade came from! So that makes it a little more fun than PSA.
If you get hit by import fees on the becket submission, you can apply for a refund by proving that the cards where yours before hand. You didn’t buy something, you bought a Service and that can’t be taxed. Good luck.
Yeah but you have to have proof you payed for it before hand. I have sent things much lower value, and the person said send it as a gift, but I don't know if that works.
Love your stuff man! I would say I’d want to see new product vs a hunt. I’m one of those guys that researches and waits before buying, so getting a true sense of it from you has helped!
Love watching your vids! Hope the grading works out for you. Please save for some new product, it’s always exciting to see your thoughts on it before I go get some myself. Keep up the good work!
Zeeree please get at least a case of SPA a year, it's literally my favourite series on your channel. More McJesus would be nice though so do what you want I guess.
There should NOT be any import fees; if there are fees, get the sender (UPS, FedEx) to review the shipment. The shipment should be classified as "Canadian Goods Returning". This means that the cards were under your ownership, and have been submitted to a 3rd party company for a professional evaluation. I use FedEx, and they are more than awesome and very efficient returning my cards to Winnipeg! Good luck with the submission! I have been grading cards with BGS since 1999-2000, when they opened their grading doors. Just make sure that you don't cut corners on the insurance, JIC something does go foul (packages are often stolen these days)...
Wish we had events like this here in Sweden, the scene is strong but small. We basically have one single store that sells hockey cards (which is great btw).
I don't deal in cards but in regards to art if you own the piece and are sending it down to the states to have it reviewed or verified or even graded (coins) as long as you are the owner of the piece before you send it down you won't get dinged for anything and if you do for whatever reason you would just have to file a document (can't recall the name of it off hand) with customs and you'll get that money back.
I went this year on Sunday. Not as busy. My biggest pet peeve for these show is dealers who don't put prices on their cards. I hate asking every card what the price is. Usually I just walk by any dealer who does not have prices.
Box opening is always fun to watch. But I honestly think you made a good call here. Getting another Mcdavid FWA is not a bad move at all and to get that and your Matthews that you love graded is a smart move. Investing in 2 cards that you honestly love and will probably never leave your collection. Yeah might slow down your channel momentum but the people who love your content I think would rather watch you open gems on those 2 cards then a case of platinum where you get 20 autos 1 being a good player
Good decisions imo, especially while in the pit known as the expo. You'll be happy with these a few years down the road. New product or something you're excited for. Put McDavid on ice till the grade comes back, it's good luck! 👍
PSA and Beckett are HOSTILE. The cost to grade a card should be a flat rate. These bastards figured out how to fleece everyone out of every possible cent.
Hey Zeree. Why so expensive for PsA? I did the 1 month turn around at 150 usd / card and they were back before 30 days had passed . And no they were no border fees!
Ever Cool Video...Hats off & 🍻 👏 Our Hero (Zeeree) grading heavily! We will await the returns & reveals. I suggest that you search youtube for how to open for a blind reveal. You are the best and deserve the best grades. Peace out & TY 4 sharing'
I've graded a lot with beckett and haven't had to pay any duties or customs yet. I always shipped fed ex 2 day both ways hated thinking of high end cards traveling through snow storms on the hwy haha figured air was safer. P.s don't open any emails they send you it will have the grades of the cards in the email once the process is complete.
Obviously we need to see you break a case of SPA, outside of that I'd personally like to see a sampling of newer products with a bit of random older stuff mixed in.
don't open up the email from Beckett when they say your cards are shipped as they show the grades in the email. I just graded my Mcdavid Jambalaya and it was express, door to door took a week. They are very stingy. Best of luck, it was a mint 9 but it was spoiled when I opened the email and saw the grade.
I live near Syracuse NY, if it would save ya a bunch of money I’d definitely offer you to send them within the states and I can meet you in like Buffalo or Watertown NY depending where you’re located and give them to ya! Lol
Demand. So many people are sending cards in these days. Wait times and costs have gone up because of it. If you're Canadian and are looking to grade your cards for showcase value, and not actual monetary value MNT is a great alternative. I sent 6 cards away at the Expo and it cost me $150.00 - this is with a 3 month turnaround though.
I’ll spend $10k on Leaf pearl cards. Or Leaf ITG. That’s just me personally. Leaf is the best hockey card imo. I’ve been collecting them. And I’ve gotten 16/21 of the “Fantastic Franchise” cards. They’re hands down my favorite card ever.
A card of that caliber is not graded yet for a reason. Risky, high dollar gambling on your part hoping for a 9.5. Very unlikely to get that grade and the seller probably knows it. Hope you don't get your heart broken with a 8.5.
You show us the stakes. You're aware of the stakes. And yet you don't remove around 15k in cards out of their cases to properly inspect them before grading? Look, I wish you the best and I will be stoked for you if everything works out. But grading is not supposed to be a game or a gamble, as so many new collectors treat it. They are the same collectors who will either a) complain about the company when they receive deserved low grades due to complete disregard for accurate inspection or b) swear off cards because of the loss of finances/quality of experience. If you are a high-end buyer, learn to understand condition and how it relates to resale value. Use the grading process to learn and keep getting better. Don't close your eyes and jump.
Is it not a problem that out of 999 cards, they can't print more then one 10 grade....and we're expected to pay thousands for a raw/pack hoping to get one? I think box prices are ridiculously expensive on the simple fact that a 10 MAY come out of it...when now a days companies don't seem to give 2 sh!ts if they can even print a single one. I feel in the future these silly prices will die down once we realize 10's don't barely exist FROM THE FACTORY. I shouldn't be paying hundreds for a box that the chance of getting even the best card, doesn't matter when it turns out to be graded a 8.5. We have to stop this lol It's making this hobby a joke when you pull a 1/1 graded an 8. IF this hobby dies...it will bankrupt us all.
