Professeur Bumbo!!! As a programmer, I agree. When I started out, if there were problems, I would just work around it. Now, problems give me brain haemorrhages, to the point where I will scrap code and start from scratch only to get the exact same problem, when I could have used an array, or a function of some kind.

Thank you I needed this. I'm trying be a computer programmer and I did a basic coding program and I was actually really good it it and was feeling really confident that I would be able to do computer programming. However I was shown some real actual code on unity and holy shit I lost all confidence on my abilities. The difference is literally night and day. This will give me just the little extra boost I needed to pursue my happiness and I thank you for that Mumbo.

I'm a story teller (that's my way of saying film maker) and I've been struggling with this exact thing and your films have been huge inspirations to me. This video reseller helped push me over the edge to not think about every little detail so much and to just take an idea and run with it. Thanks Mumbo!

The good thing is that it allies to almost every topic you need to learn. I felt the same way as I begaan to model on PC 2 years ago. Experience ans patience is what you need to get better, which you can only acchieve through practice.

Mumbo, I really like this video on the Dunning Kruger Effect. I think it was well done as well as informative and educational. I was convinced when I started watching RU-vid videos that this was something that I could certainly do. After spending days trying to edit together a video based on scripting I had produced I discovered it is way harder than I originally estimated. I wanted another video on The Dunning Kruger Effect produced by Psych2Go and I think your video is better. You do a better job of explaining the effect and you also produce a better quality video. I was also surprised when you were talking about the cameras, filming, and editing at all the effect and concepts that I knew nothing about. Kinda made me realize how much I don’t know on the subject. Anyway, congratulations on your videos and the quality you have achieved. I have been watching since you were in Hermitcraft season 2 and have watched as you grow and expand over the years and seems to have outstripped your fellow hermits in growth of watchers and subscribers. I hope you don’t outgrow Hermitcraft any time soon, but it does beg the question as to why you have reached over a million subscribers during the same time that other hermits reached 100,000. You must be doing something right.

Logical Fallacies, crazy ways the brain misbehaves, how memory is not very reliable, etc. So much to cover and you are a great speaker - I think you'd do a good job.

What a great video, Mumbo! Starting university, I can especially relate to what you are saying. Sometimes it can get too stressful and I'm unsure if I'm cut out for anything really. But thinking about it with a different mentality certainly helps. Keep up the filming, you are improving every video!

I've just started doing woodworking and I feel really confident, and I'm starting to learn about diferent types of saw blades and drill bits, and as I learn more, I realize my abilities aren't as great as I first thought. It's good to know that this has an actual name. Thanks mumbo. ;)

I watch a lot of RU-vid and think the quality of your filming is far superior to most. There is an artistic film makers feel to some of them, so rather than doubting yourself, just keep doing what you do well.

You have to fall down to be able to rise up Mumbo and every misstake, failure or difficulty you stumble across is success. Because in every failure lies experience and experience leads to success. I think your videos are great and I enjoy every minute spendt watching them! I really enjoyed the frozen lake video you did back in the days because I love the feeling of winter and you did a great job capturing that feeling.

This actually really explains my experience on RU-vid. I started off thinking I was a great editor, comedian, etc. But now that I've hit a wall I've almost stopped making videos entirely, and I've scrapped dozens and dozens of videos because, to me, they never seemed good enough. So this is your first blog video that I've actually seen of yours. I started watching you when season 5 of hermitcraft came started. Never seen anything before except like a few redstone videos that I still don't understand. I've seen every episode of season 5 and always look forward to the next one. I finally decided to check out your filming channel and I know that I've missed out. This actually helped me to realize that I need to work at something to get better at it. Thank you for that. OMG, that is so accurate! I recognize myself so much, I hope that the confidence in the end will strike me soon! Been terribly unconfident about my music lately, I learned so much stuff about all sorts of things which made me realize how terrible my songs were. But with all that new knowledge I hopefully hit the confidence line soon!! THIS HELPS SO MUCH, THANK YOU. ive been working on upping the production value of my FPV videos and ive been sitting on 3 weeks of footage without editing any of it cause it just didnt feel good enough. and ive been wondering what was happening to the confidence i had in the beginning. well now im motivated again, even if it doesnt turn into my best video im still going to use it as practice.

I love how you made a blog... about making blogs! Seriously though, it's great that you're teaching your viewers about experience; That's my number one go-to for getting better at anything. I know so many young people wanting to start at the top (confidence) when I know that those will fail until they start from the bottom and work their way up (EXPERIENCE). I think we are somewhat alike in that respect. Good video though! See you 'round!

See, I have a hobby of animating and this basically sums it all up. I do admit I am getting better at it, but I'm kind of stuck in that middle zone where I don't like what I'm making and I just have no motivation to do it. This video has taught me something though, or more encouraged me, to keep doing it. Thanks Mumbo, you've helped me by explaining this to me. The effect is one thing but sometimes the most important part though is simply about the personality or personalities of the content and the level of enjoyment they get from producing. The fine tuning just adds to the final result. Keep up the good work!

Mumbo, this was actually *really* good. I'd love to see more experimentation videos similar to this. This was not only interesting, but inspiring! I've recently gotten into music production and been trying to learn a ton of stuff at once, like how to play a guitar, piano, sing and work both an acoustic DAW *and* sequencer DAW, and this seems to be very accurate to how I've been feeling. lol (Plus I can relate! lol) This was lovely, I really hope to see more stuff like this!

I don't really know any of those filming words besides 'camera' and 'video,' and honestly wouldn't know the video difference between your high tech cameras and my little digital point-and-shoot (or whatever it is) (besides the fact that your drones can fly). I just enjoy the scenery you film and your (mis)adventures!

This was such a good video. I loved the music. And it truly spoke to where I am right now. I'm currently trying to enter the workforce here in California, and I've been super unsuccessful. Every job interview I've set up has turned me down, so needless to say I've been very discouraged for the past few months. This video helped me see that I'm just at the bottom of that slope in the graph, and, if I keep working at it, and keep trying to get out applications, it can only go up from here. Thank you Mumbo for improving my outlook. You are such an inspiration. Keep chasing your dreams. :)

I too am having this problem. I am currently in learning to become an engineer. In the beginning I thought that by the end of college I would be able to solve any problem the world could throw at me. Now I'm not so confident anymore, at the moment I'm even worrying if i chose the right carrier. This video explained to me that this is relatively normal to happen to you.
