The Dwellingup Steam Ranger 

Nice tour, at least you didn't get stuck on the hill. I went on the tour when they just re opened from a bush fire and they had 2 W class loco's at the bottom of Pinjarrah going up to Dwellingup. The day was so wet and it was the first time the drivers and crew where back on the rails from a few year break due to line repairs. Half way up the hill both W's slipped and lost all momentum. Its took a couple of hours for them to get going again. I have video footage if you want it. Not sure on the quality of the video. It was still fun and awesome day, very memorable.

Still one of my favourite places. definitely going on my birthday.

I remember the first time when I went on the Hotham valley steam train on my first visit at Hotham valley railway I would definitely like to go back there sometime soon.

I remember going on the steam ranger for my birthday back in 2010, I do believe it was before the line got restricted to having it’s terminus at isandra as I distinctly remember the canopy at pinjarra when we boarded the train, that some-point along the line the engine stalled on the hill and had it’s whistle stuck on, and they had to sand the rails by hand. Needless to say, for a 5 year old me, I had a blast that day, except for the long wait. Definitely want to go back one day
