Did this dive 17 years ago as a night dive. Neat to see it in the light. Thanks for sharing.

I dove the Eagle in 2000. The Dive Master told us that hurricane Irene that had gone through the keys the year before had actually moved the ship from it's position where it had sank.

Nice video ! I am planning to see this place this coming January 2016... Do you need special training like advanced scuba diving or with the regular open water diver certificate you can go that deep. And I didn't see too much wildlife... Or that is just for wreck diving experience ?

+Vitalie Bucsa Advanced should be required - depth is approx. 30 meters. There was wildlife, but not so much in the video, actually the whole florida keys area has a lot of fish!

Right now I’m a certified rescue diver who’s about to get my divemaster Cert. to answer your question- yes It’s technically required to be an advanced diver on this wreck dive, but many dive boats will look the other way and take you down. They don’t wanna risk bad reviews from unhappy/disgruntled customers (just the truth). Before I got my advanced Cert last year, I went down about 130 feet on a super cool rock wall dive when I technically “wasn’t supposed to”. On a dive like this boat at 100 feet, it’s really not any serious danger because it bottoms out at 100 feet. You won’t get nitrogen narcosis at 100 feet 99.9% of the time. That really only happens in deeper waters like 130+. Or if you stayed down wayyy too long. So it’s not like you can get narcosis and then descend into the abyss on your dive. On my rock wall dive, tho, I’ll admit it was slightly risky. Because the wall went down thousands of feet, into a black abyss... so if I had gotten narcosis and started descending rapidly, I could’ve been a goner. However I’m of the survival of the fittest mentality, personally. I wasn’t stupid enough to do that. And even as a regular open water diver I monitored my mental state to make sure I didn’t feel foggy. I was in a group of more experienced divers and I watched my depth on my dive computer closely. Overall you should get your certs but you don’t need to be a total Nazi about it. However the exception is cave diving or tech diving over 140 feet... don’t fuck with it until you’re properly certified and have all the proper equipment, seriously haha. And also it might sound offensive but your IQ matters... if you’re highly intelligent, you’ll pick up stuff quickly and are better able to do gray area dives. But if you’re dumb, you probably should stick to “by the book” of what you’re trained in

Any Dive boat Skipper who looks the other way should have their operating licence removed it;s people like this that are responsible for the deaths of Divers, if anyone wants to do dives like this should first get their qualification to do dives like this and get at leas some dive in to the depth they want to dive to and by the way this Wreck is at a depth of nearly 40 metres ( 120)

I´m going here two weeks from now; how is the watertempature? Wetsuit req?
@atom6_
@atom6_ 8 лет назад
+Hossmann wetsuit is depending on the depth. This was about 30 meters, most people wear wetsuits on these depths as you could get cold. Temp is about 24 degrees celcius at about 12 meters.
