The early days of Hans "Former" Nielsen

There are several different versions of the story about how the grand Danish pipe maker - Hans "Former" Nielsen - became a pipe maker and how he evolved from repair boy to manager of the world famous workshop at W.Ø. Larsen in Copenhagen 1960-1970.
They vary from an accurate and precise description to a misguiding and nauseatingly sugar sweet fairytale...
Here is the story from the horses mouth - a non-edited interview with Former made by me in his workshop in the summer of 2012.
There are well around 20 minutes of pipe history ahead of you, so light up a bowl and enjoy

His English is quite good! I don’t have a Former in my collection, as his pipes are a bit out of my price range, but man I want some - those horn pipes of his are my dream. One day!

May be irrelevant: people talk about Burley and Virginia often, though those are high producing sorts, not high quality ones. Cigar sorts, some orientals, I wonder why those aren't grown. It's not that difficult and why very high yield must be decisive factor ?
