Make your own sweet Boba tea with this easy & quick recipe.
Ingredients:
120 gr tapioca starch
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp brown sugar
70 ml boiling water
Instructions:
1. Making the black pearls:
Combine tapioca starch, cocoa powder, and brown sugar in a bowl.
Gradually add boiling water while stirring continuously until a dough forms.
Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
Roll the dough into a long snake shape.
Cut the snake into small stripes and then into even pieces.
Roll the pieces at the same time into small balls using your palms.
2. Boiling the black pearls:
Add the pearls to the boiling water.
Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until they float to the surface and become translucent.
Drain the pearls in a fine-mesh sieve. Rinse the pearls with cold water.
3. Making Boba tea
Milder boba tea: Combine oat milk and black pearls in a glass.
Sweeter boba tea: Combine sweet condensed milk and black pearls in a glass.
Finish by pouring chilled green tea over the mixture.
Tips:
Dash the pearls with some tapioca powder while rolling them.
To prevent sticking, coat the cooked pearls in a small amount of sugar or honey.
Adjust sweetness to taste with condensed milk, sugar, or honey.
